Wooo Fleur go the big bubba... my DS was 10lb11 and we had tonnes of stuff that didn't get worn also!
I had an 8lb3 DD first and she was in 4x0 for maybe a month? But DS - well I crammed him into like three of the 4x0 growsuits but he looked so cramped... so we just started on the 3x0!

i think in my opinion every baby is different DS was 8.11lbs(3.940) 50cm long and DD was 8.6lbs(3.800) 50cm long and they both wore 0000 for a month and the only reason we went to 000 is we got bored with their clothes yet my bestfriends boys werent much bigger never fit into 0000 and if they did it was only for a week
and all babies grow at different rates
every brand is different also my kids always grew out of bonds much earlier then any other brand

Thank you all so much for your feedback. It really is amazing how much bubs differ in size and how they grow at such different rates.
I succumbed and popped out yesterday and bought a 2-pack of 0000's because I figure if the extended family pitches up en-mass to the hossy oneday (as they did with DS) then it will be nice to have her in something that doesn't have baggy legs and rolled up sleeves! I am, however, hoping that the crazy visiting won't happen this time around - I am wondering if the novelty wears off second time around haha! The rest of the time, however, she will be cruising in clothes that may just be a little too big :)
Thanks again.

i reckon it's good to have a bit of the newborn size happening as like you said, it is nice to have stuff that isnt always rolled up :)
In our case our DD1 was born at just under 6lbs at 38w1d and she was too small for the 0000s! so she was in hers for 3-4 months. but it does turn out that she is a tiny thing anyway.
whereas DD2 was born at 7.5lbs and was in the 0000s for the more standard 6 weeks-ish.
HTH!

DS was 3.5 kg at 38 weeks and 50 cm long, so he was in 0000 for just one week. Then he was in 000 for ages :).
I wasn't going to get any 0000, but a friend suggested that I get a couple just in case. I probably could have put him in 000 straight away, but I liked him in 'snug' outfits! My OB always told me DS was above average in weight, and he was right as if I went to 40 weeks he would have been around 4 kg.

DS was 8lb7oz (3820g and I squeezesd him into 0000. Really he was in 000 from birth.
DD was 8lb5oz (3770g) - is 2 weeks old. She fits 0000 really well. It's a big snug with her cloth bum. Bonds seem to be a snug fit and don't fit as well.
Both kids were 52cm.

I had a little giggle yesterday and thought of this thread when I put 0000 shorts on my 15mth old son  (He has a tiny waist)
