Snuggle Bed VERUS Hammock

Thanks so much ladies for the new input. I was showing a friend at work who has two children and she loved the idea of the hammocks and wished she had known about them as her son had silent reflux which went undiagnosed for 5 months. She has pretty much convinced me to get a hammock as well.

bettyblue - thanks for the info on the Kanoe hamocks, I had a look at those after your post. Love the idea of a bigger hammock. I guess for the price though I would expect a stand to go with it. We have 11-12 foot ceilings so these really aren't much of an option. But thank you for the suggestion I didn't know they existed until you mentioned them.

We have both. LOVE the snuggle bed! It's portable so it's used in our bed, in the cot, on the lounge, can take it anywhere. But beware, I think you mentioned you had a cat, he/she will probably like it too! I have caught our cat several times in DS's snuggle bed lol.

He hasn't used the hammock much, maybe 5 times. As you're not meant to swaddle baby when using the hammock and there's really no way you can tuck any blankets in, you need gro-bags or something similar to keep them warm. What does everyone else do in regards to this? Maybe I'm missing something really obvious here! Anyway, he doesn't hate the hammock though, just haven't tested it out properly to know how good it is. Might buy some grobags and try it out properly and get back to you!

I thought you were meant to swaddle them in hammocks, I always did.:dunno:

I always swaddled my DS in his hammock :)

I have an amby hammock and the instructions read 'wrap baby loosely' or something similar, so I assumed that you're not meant to wrap tightly! But then the blankets just came off him eventually as he wriggles. :dunno: Seems like swaddling is the way to go then! Too bad DS doesn't like to be wrapped anymore :doh:

My dd hated being wrapped and slept in a amby hammock from 8 weeks to 8 months I tucked the blanket in at the feet and down the sides and had no problems with it. I used a bassinet size balanket.
