    Question First Response Evaps?

    Hey ladies,

I've got two school-aged kids and we're trying for #3, and in that time we've used a bunch of First Response tests but . . they seem to have started showing a lot of false positives?? In particular, they have really strong indentation-lines that seem to show regardless. Today I did a test and it looked like a positive for a minute but I think it was potentially just the urine passing over the indentation (TMI, sorry)

I've attached a pic for those who are interested (opinions on what the hell is going on are welcome lol) but in general i'm just wondering of other people are finding that First Response is just not reliable like it used to be?

I've never found the top Fr to be reliable and have had a lot of false BfPs or Evaps in the past with them.

The one down the bottom the FRER I've found a lot more accurate. I have had Evaps in them but only once in all 3 tests from the same box. They were actually really convincing of a BFP but I had my Bloods taken only to be surprised the hcg was less then 2.

    Goodluck

What do you mean 'the one down the bottom the FRER', you mean the early response? I've had so many false positives with FR (all of them!) and blue dye runs with other brands, I've switched to digital. I hear they're less sensitive but pulling apart tests and going bananas just isn't a good system for me!

The digital test said negative yesterday and I think AF came today but it's been super light (last month was too though). I guess it's possible this is implantation bleeding but that seems super unlikely since me and DP DTD right at the beginning of the month and my period is due. I've finally installed a period tracker though so we're gonna actually TTC properly. I have two kids from a previous relationship but I was a teenager when I had them, now I'm approaching my late 20s with PCOS so it's kind of now or never for #3. Congrats on your bub!

I have found the FRER (the white plastic ones in your second image) to be accurate everytime, I have never heard of false positives on them, but I do know the indentation line that you speak of... I have pulled way too many apart to inspect closer... however a pinkish line is positive... even if your period arrives on time, it might mean that there was the very beginnings of pregnancy that didn't stick, so maybe they aren't false positives??

Have you tested again since these images?
