HPT - can you trust their accuracy?

Oh my gosh I only just read this thread I can't believe how happy and excited I am for some one I've never met! This is such fantastic news, so amazing. I'm going to be checking back frequently to hear how the ultrasound goes. Congratulations mummy!

The U/S went very well. Amazing to see our little alien for the first time & see that it is REAL! We are 10 weeks, with EDD 260510. I still think more like 12weeks, but I guess we will never know for sure. It is 3.26cms long, good strong heartbeat with 178bpm. Woo Hoo!!! :D

That is great news!!! That is a VERY strong BH bubby has there!!! Wow, 10 weeks down already, time will fly from here on in, you're almost into your 2nd trimester already.

Congrads on all pregnancies! my question on HPT is....I"ve had 3 positive tests and then went to the dr. and got a negative blood test. So I figured they were all false positives, that was last nite that i got the neg. bt well this morning i tested once more with a hpt sure it would come up neg. because of the blood test, and hoping it would be neg. so i could ease my mind and start ttc again. but this mornings test came up positive....what's going on??? i'm sure the blood test is right, but knowing Indian health service, they've been known to mix up samples before. but why would i keep getting positive HPT and have a negative blood test, it doesn't make sense and i'm confused and also i feel pregnant and still having symptoms. PUZZLED! can anyone share info?

I don't really know what to say. I know the blood tests are meant to be the key determining factor, however in saying that, I had a friend who just knew she was preggers and kept on doing HPT's till she got a postitive. Being that you have done 4 HPTs now and all have been positive, perhaps get another blood test. My understanding is that the HPT won't come up positive unless you have the pregnancy hormone in your urine.

Thanx for the reply, I haven't be online for awhile, my grandma passed away. But it's been stressful, I had an ultra sound and will get the full report thursday. the tech could not tell me anything, she said she wasn't authorized and that they sent it away to be looked at so thursday my provider said to come in and they would give me the report. but it doesn't look good, so far, but will keep updated on what happens with the u/s.
