its a great idea ! i could try , i know it would work with DS maybe not DD ... she just doesnt seem to "get" discipline .... LOL at your hubby ... DW i dont think u smack ur kids ... any thing to get half an hour time out ;)

Sensory kids (if not most kids) do better with time ins rather than time outs. If she is being naughty, give her a job like watering the plants or sweeping with the dustpan and brush and then praise, praise, praise (even if it's the shoddy, you can work on doing it properly as time goes along). Not only will it redirect the energy and give them a texture fix, it will give them a sense of achievement.

I agree with Yeddi- these quirky kids just don't care about behaviour modification charts like that sadly. When DS is in the middle of a meltdown he needs to be held tightly and calmly until he calms down.

Also agree with Yeddi. Redirection works wonders, but the traffic light system if you start it now for the rest of the family will give her a concept of what happens when you are naughty and in a few months she wont protest so much when she is included. Also, things like that, give children a sense of security because they know how what happens and why, something they can rely on. Also gives us a way to be consistant. We had huge resistance to our naughty chair but after a few months everybody knows and accepts it- I got sent there last week for yelling LOL the kids think that is great and took great pleasure in telling DH when he got home.
Also think the diary you have planned will help alot. Help you see any patterns and help them get an idea of where she is in the scale.
