HIt me with some ideas please! I need easy things to make and do for Sunday, so far on my list have the rainbow cake, cake pops, a rainbow fruit platter, fairy bread, mini pizzas, a pack of asian oven bitties and then just dips/cheese/chips/lollies.
Am feeling like I need one or 2 more ideas but can't think of anything, CBF doing layered jelly or anything else too time consuming as what Im doing will already take a little while.
So if you have any brilliant ideas for super easy rainbow food I'd love to hear them
rainbow icing on cup cakes? it's not too hard really
rather than layered jelly, you could do disposable shot/drinking glasses with all the different colors of jelly in it and just put them out like that. not as time consuming but you could have the same impact with the colors...
Different coloured drinks in clear bottles?
Short bread biscuits with colouring it them (so some pink, some blue....)
Arrowroots with white icing and mini mm's on top
Thanks all - PZ I have some of those on my Pinterest board, love them! I see so much on there that looks too tricky but those sandwiches look cool and will go check out Martha as well. Nikky - DD's theme is rainbows and unicorns - we found a unicorn candle at Spotters for her cake!! Too cute!
I agree, most of it is too advanced for me! But I will be doing the sandwiches, the rainbow layer cake (I hope!), the fruit platter in the shape of a rainbow, the veggie and dip platter, the icecream cone tea cups, maybe the rice crispies, and some lollies. Oh, and those ladybugs. Too cute.
You can do the layered jelly over a few days so it doesn't take that much time. Lots of coloured balloons, skittles, m&m's, smarties, decorate your own iced milk arrowroot biscuits with rainbow coloured sprinkles.
Laughing at your 'easy food' comment and then you say CAKE POPS! Ha ha. Maybe I'm just bad at making them but I found them hard
We're doing rainbow for DD's 2nd bday. Don't think I have any new ideas to add though as most are on here. Yay for pinterest, the best source of party ideas EVER!!
I made a rainbow cake for DD's 4th bday. It's not really that hard. The most difficult part for me was making sure each layer of the cake was an ever thickness, so having to measure the cake mixture into the tins was a bit of a PITA!
