What made you get a Clydesdale? They are just magnificent animals, and when you raise them from "scratch" it makes it all the harder.
(you don't have to answer, I just found that I wanted to talk about my boy all the time after he died......and it's nice to talk to people that understand how deeply they burrow into your heart).

Crappola :( I've been hearing about a lot of snakebite lately. I'm currently seeking either a paddock buddy for mine, or agistment where he can be with other horses will be have more to move onto our farm together (they won't be grazing with the cattle), cos I've already seen one huge mother of a black snake this season.
I'm so sorry you lost your big fella. That's two BB'ers who've lost big fellas in the last 6 months :( :hug:

He was such a good boy. So loving and just wanted to be with ppl even though he was so big! I'll really miss him.
I can't help but blame myself, I should have noticed if he was sick, there were no signs when I was him and mum and dad didn't see anything either. Feel like I failed him.
Stop that. If there were no signs then you would have to be clairvoyant or a vet to know. I could say that I should have known my boy had a stress fracture (or whatever was wrong with him for his leg to snap to easily), but I didn't and I don't want you beating yourself up over something that you can't change, and you couldn't change if you were to relive the last week.
You didn't fail him. These things definitely happen (and have been happening). There are worse ways for a horse to go, and you know it, babe.
Take the big stick and put it away, just grieve and be sad and send him big love messages.

Oh hun I am SO sorry, I was just drooling over his picture and now I am in tears, so very very sad. heart is breaking for you. R.I.P Seamus may your pastures be forever green and the sun beat warmly on your withers x

Please don't blame yourself, when I lost my girl to colic I did the same thing I blamed myseld. In hindsight I know that I couldn't have done more for her, I saw her go down the first time, called the vet, stayed up with her in the rain all night long.
Hope you remember all the good fun with your boy I am thinking of you xxx
