    Just wondering

    Hi All,
It's been a long time between posts and I'm not even certain this is the right spot for this one.
I'm wanting some info/opinions. 9 months ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl but had a dreadful pregnancy due to placenta previa grade 4 and placenta accreta.
I ended up having her 6 weeks early, losing almost 3 litres of blood during a very well planned c-sect.
Now my partner and I are talking about a future pregnancy, what would be the likelihood of these problems happening again? Would you be willing to risk it?
The Dr's didn't say I couldn't actually they didn't say much at all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I had my DD in may and had placenta accreta.
I lost 5 litres and required 7 blood transfusions.
I was advised next bubs would be closely monitored and if signs of accreta again, then c section.
I had a subchrionic haematoma during first trimester and had 2 large bleeds. Dr feels this is where placenta had opportunity to grow into uterine wall.
It does make me a little scared for next time, but I was in amazing hands last time, so hopefully the OB stays there.

I would suggest speaking to your ob and ask so you are getting answers to your specific situation. Even if it means writing down your questions and hand it to them saying this is what I want to discuss.

I had grade 4 previa, vasa previa with my son.

I saw an ob a few months ago who said I had a 15-30% chance of it happening again. I know a few people who have gone on to have normal pregnancies again and others who have got it all again.

I suggest you see an ob again just for peace of mind. I am on a group on fb if you would like to join. its a support group of others who have gone through the same thing.

    good luck xx

placenta previa should not increase risks of further previa. accreta is a bigger risk though as you now have a scar on your uterus (not sure if you previously had uterine surgery) accreta is more likely to happen on women who have scar tissue.

But you will be monitored no matter what and placenta location will again be something the drs will check as soon as they can.
