I got the email, thanks Bec. Blake is so much better now. He's eating like a horse, and walking again, so we will definitely be there. Not sure how long we will stay as we have school pick up at 3.30pm in Bayswater but I'll work that out once I know how long it takes me to get there. I'll work out what to bring next week if that's ok. I'll see what everyone else is bringing and then fill a gap!
Lara, we'd love to come to Alana's party too, if that's ok?
-
Rach, it takes about 40 minutes from Bayswater. You can either go on the freeway from Stud Road or FTG on Glenfern Road then though Berwick & Beaconsfield. The freeway might be the best way if you aren't familiar with the back way.
Hopefully we can have another Playgroup before Alana's birthday and then Alana's B'day can be the next one as we do want to have them regularly.
Kate, I hope you can drive at 37 1/2 week pg.
-
I went to a pretty good play centre today, called time out for kids, is in FTG. Was quite small so easy to keep an eye on kids, really clean, not like the city ones, and really quiet during the day, might be an optioin for future meet up? Only $4.00 per child, no costs for adults

-
Gemma, thanks for the advice re travel. I know the freeway and sort of know Glenfern Road. Will have a look at both in the Melways. I'll probably allow about an hour as with all the school zones down to 40km/h it really slows up the trip. Hopefully the weather will be good too.
I took Viv to that play centre years ago. It's quite small, but she had a good time. Could be good for us to meet, as long as there aren't many other kids there too!
-
Give it an hour Kate. I've got a relative in McCrae and wouldn't have much time to spare from an hours drive.
Travel along Baxter-Tooradin Road and then the Sth Gippy Hwy to KooWeeRup, then to Pakky the back way.
-
Thanks Sam, sorry Kate I am not too familiar with coming from your area.
-
So the confirmed details are:
Lunch 11am this Friday (11/8) at my house.
Gemma & Amy - Garden Salad
Kate & Kelsey - Bread
Vanita & Dion - Bok choy salad
Min & Jackson - Chook
Lara & Alana - Chook
Bec & Jonah - Sweet
Rachel & Blake
Sam & Angus
Divvy & Ned & Alex?
Please let me know if anyone still needs my address or you can't come. Look forward to seeing everyone on Friday.
-
Okay I will still be coming, but I will probably leave Alana at home. She has had a cough for two weeks and on her second course of anti's, so will get mum to watch her. Even though she may not be contagious, I think its best to not take the chance. I was hoping that she would be over it by Friday, but her Physiotherapist thought it best to keep her home from Gymbaroo etc this week.
-
Lara, I don't know how the others feel, but if it is just a cough and on it's tail end anyway I know I don't mind if you bring Alana, Jackson could pick up worse at the shops!
-
Gemma if I make it ;) I'll bring a sweet too. Sorry I forgot to say what I'd be bringing.
-
The boys and I will be there.
-
Lara, I 'm fine if you want to bring her, as If she is on anti's after 24 hrs she is not cantagious, and Dion has a perpetual cough that is most likely asthma related, but sounds as if he's "sick" all the time
Hey DH and Rianna are coming too, is that oK?????
-
Just thought I'd throw it up for everyone... Blake's had a cold for a few days and has a runny nose. He's on Dimetapp so most of the time it's under control. I'm thinking about not coming because I don't think it's fair for him to spread his germs, particularly as no doubt he'll put Amy's toys in his mouth like all little ones do.
-
I'm not worried about the sickies, I think you should only not come if you don't think they will handle it well. As long as it's nothing major, a cold or sinffle is no biggie.
-
Rach, I don't mind if Blake has a cold and you should still come unless anyone else minds?
Kate - Our house is in the new UBD and I'm not sure about the latest Melway. It is really easy to find and if you get lost just give me a call.
Vanita - It's great that your DH is coming as mine will be home too.
Sam, how are you going?
-
Thanks everyone! I think I will still keep her home, its probably better for her anyway. If it wasn't for her having CF I don't think I would so over precautious.
I thought I would say, just for next time, that if anyone has a cold or there littlies, just let me know and then I can keep Alana home. I certainly don't mind. I find it easier to do it that way, than someone else doesn't miss out for just a little cold, that wouldn't cause anyone else any problems IYKWIM :) I hope that came across okay!LOL!
-
I'm not fussy about my bread, so whatever is fine with me Kate :) I better look up tonight where I'm going too, I have no idea.
-
Lara, I don't mind keeping Blake home. TBH, I think I'll wait until the morning to see how he is, if that's not too late for you to make a decision about coming or not. I don't want Alana to miss out just because of Blake's cold when he's out there breathing - he can spread it to anyone, and possibly everyone.
-
Gemma I'm still coming unless there is an overnight development. I've got your number so I'll call you if I'm unable to make it ;)
-
11. Did you find it in your Melways Kate?
-
I'm going through Berwick from my house and up the Princes Hwy I think it is. It's on my map but I kind of know most of the way anyway, Ben used to play cricket at Pakenham S.C so I've been to there a lot, so if you want to meet somewhere I'm happy to. If you have to go by right here you can just come to my place and we'll go from there. I do have to stop and grab my sweet on the way, but that's fine if it's fine with you.
-
Ahhhhh, okie dokie, see you there :) Good luck!
-
I wont make it til nearly 12, as Rianna has swimming at 11, but will see you when i get there!!!! ( dont have toooo much fun without me LOL)
-
Blake seems to be pretty good this morning. See you shortly girls. Gemma, I'm going to bring throw together a bit of a salad, and a bit of a dessert and bring a bottle of bubbly.
-
Well we had a great time :) Thanks everyone, can't wait until the next one!
-
Here here, thanks for hosting it Gemma, had a great time, look forward to doing it again, what say a fortnight?? Who's house next time???
-
A fortnight is fine with me. Unfortunately I cannot offer the house we are currently in as we are already busting at the seams. Hopefully in October we'll move to a bigger place and everyone can come :)
-
We had great time too, thanks everyone and particularly Gemma and DH for having us. We'll look forward to the next one too.
Oooh, exciting for you to be moving Bec!
-
Yes I am most excited to be moving to a bigger place. We might even look a Pakenham :)
-
Thanks for hosting us all Gemma!
Great to see you all. Don't know if I'll make the next one but I'll have you all over once we get a bit settled after Calebs arrival.
-
Thanks for coming everyone and for bringing stuff for lunch.
We had a great time too and look forward to the next one.
-
I'm so sorry I didn't make it, DH took the car at the last minute and I was left transportless...
-
yeah me too. Jackson woke up with a high temp and foul mood. Took him to the docs and he has a slight ear infection. Is getting better today.
Sounds like you all had fun
-
Sorry you couldn't make it Min :( Glad to hear that Jackson is feeling a bit better :)
-
Okay.......I don't have a bub yet....but I do have a big house with lots of playroom and a backyard that is pretty childproof......and I also appear to be sorta in the middle of the triangle of where everyone lives being in Langwarrin. So I would love tha company and wouldlike to offer my house for at least the next playgroup meetup, maybe permanently if you like (As you can tell I don't get out much!!). As I said the house is huge and fairly open plan so lots of room for the kiddies to run and make a mess. The only thing I don't have a lot of is toys (hehe...I have some from working in childcare but not a huge amount) but if you would each like to bring a couple I think it might work. Food for think...See what you think....I am available pretty much any day except Tuesday 22 August and Tuesday 29th August but am otherwise free as a bird!!
-
Sounds perfect Mel, I for one will go for it. as long as Im free that is.
-
Awwww Mel, what a gem you are. Sounds like a great idea to me :D Thanks so much for offering.
-
so wot day seems to suit most people....I am easy as far as that goes....wot day have been having them mostly?
-
Any days are fine with me although Ben generally takes the car Tuesdays and Wednesdays as he works later than usual those 2 nights. But I can have it if everyone else can only meet on one of those 2 days.
