Sorry not to see you on Monday hope you are alive and kicking :D Next week we will be making father's day cards for all the dads/grandfathers so hope you can make it. On monday was just discussing with the mums any ideas they might have of activities for the mummies. Something just for us to do every now and then, so if you have any ideas to contribute feel free to let me know, no matter how wacky or insane they may seem :lol:
Yeah at least one of the mums from the drop-in group should be coming next week and got a membership form from another so assuming she'll be back sometime. I agree they were very nice, I'm actually meeting up with them tomorrow to have more discussions regarding the whole drop-in idea.

sorry i couldnt make it this morning, had a doctors appt and they were running AN HOUR LATE so i had to wait and wait.... and wait, by the time i was finished it was after 11 and didnt really feel like doing anything anymore today so i went home.
i havent got any appointments next monday so i hope ill be able to make it!

Next week we are doing some scrapbooking so if you interested in doing some feel free to bring along any stuff you may have at home. If you don't have anything that's cool I've got a lot of stuff I can bring.
I've also done up a rough roster of activities for the next couple of months which I can give you on Monday or I'm happy to email to you if you prefer?

hi girls i have replied to this thread before and was going to come to the playgroup but have had unforseen circumstances and not been able to make it. Are you still accepting newbies??? Would love to make some new friends and for my boy to start interacting with other babies.

you are definitely welcome to come along to our playgroup, we are always hoping for more mums, as we don't usually have a big turn out. We meet every Monday morning 10am-12pm at 25 Hooker St Windsor. There are only two more groups for this year but would love to see you at them. Next Monday we are on making chocolate truffles and the following will be our christmas break up party.
Definitely great for both mums and bubs to make friends and we do have a few babies in the playgroup at the moment. My kids are a bit older 2 & 5 so I love seeing all the bubs :)

Yes we definitely open for new members, group actually hasn't started back for this year yet but I will let you know when it will be starting if you are still interested in coming. Should be within the next couple of weeks :)

Hi all we are newly moved to Ballarat (Victoria) well I've been here now a month, have been living in WA for the past 5 years. I have a nearly 10 month old daughter and would like to know if there is a young mums group in Ballarat. One thing yes I do still feel young however getting close to the ugly number 29. Hhmmmm what do we class as young I wonder?
Anyway if anyone knows of a group would love to be able to join and Eliza meet some other toddlers and well what the heck maybe I'll meet some nice people too.

Hey Emma i just saw this thread ... and would you believe a fellow Ballarat friend was visiting me last Friday & she mentioned she use to go to a Young Mum's Playgroup here in Ballarat and the ages were surprisingly about mid 20's as she was expecting more teenagers there. So, if your interested i can find out for you where it is (oh, god hope you don't think i'm stalking you ... so weird as i just saw this & saw you here & thought i'd rather let you know then not that a playgroup like that is here IYKWIM, LOL ;)) ... It's good to try out different playgroups, geez i must have tried about 6 of 'em here ... was even going to two different ones for awhile to mix it up plus a couple of other kids activities !!

I had a call on a "young mums" playgroup but to my horror, I'm too "old" hehe. Young Mums 25 and under, oh what a shame :doh: LOL

(only thing is she said their maturity was not quite on her level but it might be a different group of Mum's now as it was about 2years ago that she went)

I would probably be around the same as your friend. Was hoping they still class young mums 30 and under, but obviously not. I suppose i should come to my senses :wall: I'm not getting any younger :dance:

Yeh, i think Kylie is about 31 ?? and she was prob about 28 or 29 when she was going !!

Me on the other hand the 1st time i went to the St.Peters playgroup another Mum started same day as me, i just small talked with her for like 5secs as like anyone being new ya feel a bit nervous & just sat on my own watching Cendrine & trying to look not too nervous, one nice Mum came up to me & chatted for a bit (and later on i always remembered her for that :D) ... then when it came to packing up that day the Mum i mentioned before that started same day as me came up from behind me and said "Nice to see there are some older Mum's here" (tongue in cheek), we had a bit of a chuckle & found out she was only 3weeks older than i. Every week after we had a brilliant time together like two schoolgirls looking for each when we entered the playgroup hall for about 6mths then she got offered to work in her friends cafe on Weds, ah i was lost for awhile but luckily i had before still mixed with some so was easy to natter with anyone if i felt the need. Then the lady i just mentioned she has 5 kids in total & unbelievably busy life ... so extremely hard to catch up even for a coffee. We are going to her son's 3rd birthday party this Sat so be good to catch up :dance:

By the way, Adam is 33 ... and he will tell you i whinge about my age, espesh when i feel any aches or pains ... fellow BB members i give positive advice when entering their 40's but deep down i reckon it sux, geez i better go before one of them reads this, LOL :ROFL:

I wanted to say to young Mum's here i so envy you all as i when i became a 1st time Mum at 40 i felt like a square trying to fit into a round hole, i even put in a suggested idea with the council to have an older Mum's playgroup here in Ballarat ... then as time went by & my DD was no longer a newborn i had met several 'older' Mum's in their 40's too & i then realised i didn't quite fit in with them either as not all but some had seemed to have lost their spark of FUN in life which i obviously still had lots of (i think cause i might have played the single life for so long & am very much young at heart) ... so thereafter i enjoyed being with younger Mum's more as i knew i could always have a good giggle.

Also i found once again not all older Mum's BUT ' some ' were quite competitive as people coming from being in the workforce for so long (i'm guessing that's the reason) & had taken that competitive streak into Motherhood, basically like the feeling of who was better at being a Mother then the next (yep, drove me nuts) ... so, that didn't sit right with me as at the end of the day WE are all new at the job of being a Mother with our 1st child if we have never done it before & regardless of our age so we should be more supported of one another then not.

My own Mum was a 1st time Mum at 17 & she too is so happy for younger Mum's these days to have community support unlike how it was for her in the late 1950's.
