Hi girls
Sorry to have been MIA but I have been checking in!
Dory, a MASSIVE congrats on the safe arrival of your princess. I hope you can get on here soon to fill us in on the details. I noticed you had her the day before your scheduled c/s date?
Laney, yay for another great u/s!
Beata, great news on the egg reserve, can't wait to see you back in this thread. Try and make it before I pop okay? ;)
Bec, congrats on your little girl!
Hi to everyone else I missed.
Nothing new to report here; my m/s seems to be on its way out finally! I have my morph scan in 2 weeks and another cervix check. Other than that, am starting to feel bubs moving which is nice.

Samcougar - awesome news on your bundle of pink! And measuring spot on for your dates..... I am so pleased for you.
Hi all - I was hoping to catch up a little, but have realised I can't. Too funny. Life has really changed for me with the arrival of wee Hannanh on 22 Sept. She sleeps like a champion during the day but not at night, and I on the otherhand am much better at sleeping at night but not so much during the day now... where has my pregnancy ability to sleep for 4 hours during the day gone? In reality, apart from trying to catch some zzz's when I can we are going really well. DH is has just been amazing. I adore her most of the time, but at others am just perplexed by my inability to be able to meet her needs.... specifically to work out why she is unsettled and to settle her. I might try and change my ticiker, but I am really not very technologically minded. Thinking of you all and hoping to catch up more consistently soon.
Belly rubs.

Dory, welcome back hun :) dont worry too much about not being able to work some of these things out, its early days for you both where you are still getting to know each other, for now just enjoy her being here. there were times in 1st few weeks with Tehya that i was very unsure about some things & I had done it all before, anytime you need a chat about it all I'm here, xoxox

JLK - thanks sweetie. Newborns are just such a mystery! I had heard it doesn't really get any easier to decipher their cryptic messages if you've had one before as they are all different. Wind or Hunger... just feed and see, if they aren't bviously windy by bringing their legs up to their tummy. How do you manage with 4 others in the house & a DH? I just realised Teyha's fingers look really long in her phhto. Too cute. Hannah has long fingers too - certainly didn't get that from me - I have short little sausage fingers.
Beata - awesome news... about your eggies and not getting to China til November...a bit more time here. I can't wait for you to be in here!!! Yay! I reckon not long to go.
Laney - how are you going?
Bec - good news on your pink bundle. Go the girls! ( but not to worry Beata I adore Cam even if he's a blue bundle :) )
Mo4 - hugs for your angel versary. Hope you coped ok and did something special, even if it was just a few moments quiet time to reflect. To remember and honour them is enough.
Hello to everyone else, hpe you're going well. Sorry in a daze at the mo.
I am going to see if I can catch a nap.
-
Dory - they certainly are all different. I cope okay with all the others but then the first 3 are alot older so they are a help to me (sometimes) :)
-
Hey everyone
Laney - how are you doing? Haven't heard from you in a while but then again we have all been pretty quiet!
Dory, I hope you are enjoying those newborn cuddles and all is going well. Are you recovering okay from your c/s?
I had my morph scan this morning which went well. It was a bit earlier than planned as I had some brown discharge this morning which FREAKED me out so I rescheduled the appt and got some reassurance. Not sure why the discharge is brown but my cervix is behaving itself at the moment -nice and long over 4cm and closed up tight. The stitch is sitting perfectly too. Bubs is growing well and the songrapher was pretty happy with everything but has made a note for the heart to be double checked again in 2 weeks when I go back for another cervix check just because its still pretty small at this gestation. She could see 4 chambers but just wants the blood flow checked again. So all in all, good news for now. I just wish this brown colour would go away cause it is stressing me a bit :(
Hi to everyone else and hope you are all well.
-
Jo, yay for a great scan hun!! Awesome news. Hun, don't worry about the brown discharge, as you know it's old blood so I wouldn't worry about it. I had a brown discharge around the 13 week mark with Cam and totally freaked out, but the OB said it was most likely a small vessel that popped and nothing to worry about. Sure enough, 2 days later it was gone. Luckily I was due for a visit anyway, so he had a lookie and everything was fine in there. Great news about your nice long cervix hun, at the end of the day bub and cervix is behaving so that's all that counts! Big hugs and I'm sure the discharge will go away soon :p
Big hello to everyone in here!!

jo, congrats on a great scan! I have had brown/pink discharge with every pregnancy (except this one). With Grayson I had it on and off until 35 weeks. I can only imagine how nervous it makes you.
Ellie, if you are still reading I would love to hear how everything is going!
I have been doing okay. I am chugging along. I am starting to have visits from the crazy lady again. I think it is because we are unpacking/washing baby stuff. I can't stop thinking that we wont have a bub to bring home to use it all :( I am just trying to stay positive. Bub is doing well right now and the weekly scans are helping me to relax a tiny bit.

Hello lovely ladies,
just popping in quickly while my mind is with me. I FINALLY have seen my Ob and he told us why we lost Riley. apparently the placenta had gradually died, He dosn't know why though. He is really upset with the hospital for not telling us why. (they told us they didn't know! :wtf: ) Also my last bloods said that i have antibodies on my blood type, elevated liver enzime levels, low blood platelets and my blood sugar is elevated! I didn't have any of these with Riley. My god what else could go wrong!! although he said that they were all only slightly elevated etc he just isn't leaving anything to chance, I have more bloods next week, I have to see him every 3 weeks and have an ultrasound every 6 weeks. He also said that he won't let me go to my due date and that he wants to induce me as soon as its safe. I was a bit in shock when i was there and now i'm worried how far along "safe" is! I just hope our little girl is a fighter.
sorry, i just needed to get that out. I'm a bit panicky at the moment :dunno:

Bec, hang in there lovely. Sounds like this doc will do everything in his power to get bub out safely when it's time. He has a good plan, so that's reassuring. Big hugs hun and keep positive, you'll both be fine :D
-
bec, it sounds like your doctor will be watching you and your little girl very closely. I hope that gives you some comfort. Your blood test results show a few possible reasons why the placenta could have aged too early.

Laney, what a great u/s pic of you wee man! He's gorgeous :)
-
Laney - awesome new pics of bubbs! And I like the change to your ticker. 35 weeks - so close but so far. I understand your fears about not having a baby to come home with you... I did the minimal prep for Hannah, as I was convinced we would leave the hossy with empty arms again. But, thankfully I was proven wrong. I find the closer I got to 40 weeks, the more anxious I became. do what you feel is right. If you feel up to it - wash and sort those clothes. You won't have time when bubs comes home!
Bec - oh sweetie... so disappointing to get mixed messages about why Riley died. I am sorry. But the plan sounds good for this bubs. Any time is too early in some senses, but in reality every day past 24 weeks in utero gives bubs the best chance but also means that bubs has good chances if born, so it's relatively good from 24 weeks. I clung to that magic 24 "viability mark" and it did help.. although as I said to Laney, getting closer to the 40 weeks was pretty hard in terms of anxiety. I got to 35 weeks and wanted a caesarean so I knew bubs would be safe, but we managed to nurse little Hannah to the 40 week mark, then I needed an emergency caesearan. ( can't spell that word to save myself today or indeed any day).
Beata - can't believe Cam is 7 months old. Wow! We are having a few difficulties here with Hannah, but have an appointment with the Paed on Tuesday to talk about them. I got a bit frustrated with the child health nurses conflicting advice. The hardest thing ( apart from the inconsolable crying) is Hannah is very fussy and takes a very long time to settle, maybe because she is hungry. But it can be very demanding, and if we leave her to her own devices she just works herself up. So not much time for me on BB. In fact I am listening to her start to work herself up now, so better go see if I can help her. Take care my friend.
-
Dory, I was only stirring you about your short posts of late on belly....hehehe, I know what it is like to be in a daze for the first few weeks when bub arrives!! I remember I had so many questions (where is that damn manual! lol) when Cam was born. He was really unsettled for the first 6 weeks, as he was very windy and I've tried every trick in the book to help the poor wee mite. I finally settled on infacol as it worked the best for him. Talk to your mchn or paed if you have any concerns, they can be really helpful, but I do understand your concerns about conflicting advice from the mchn. You'll find better advice here on belly I reckon! I remember that I really had to keep an eye on Cam when he would work himself up about something, as if I left him too long he was a nightmare to settle. Hope you find a way to settle wee Hannah, but remember hun, by 8 weeks they get so much better and by 12 weeks it's heaps and heaps better. So keep the faith hun and offer lots of cuddles, cos in a blink of an eye Hannah will also be 7 months haha and a you'll wonder where your cute little baby went!!
-
B - i agree, it will go in a flash - and it's good to know there is a change not too far away... I just wrote a longer post and lost it. Need to catch some zzz's whilst I can so won't post now....

Hello lovely ladies, Just popping in to see how everyone is going. It's very quiet in here.
I hope everyone is well

Hey girls
Bec, I have been wondering where everyone had gone too! I saw that you found out what happened with Riley - a good friend of mine lost her little boy due to placenta insufficiency, not sure if that is the same thing that happened with you but for her following pg she had regular growth scans and they constantly checked the placenta flow to and from bub and she arrived nice and healthy by c/s at 36 weeks. May not be the exact same thing that happened with you but thought I would share a good news story with you anyway :)
Laney - that ticker of yours is zooming!! I can't remember when you were scheduled for bub to arrive but if he hasn't already come, I am guessing it must be pretty soon!! Make sure you keep us updated!
AFM, had a scan this morning and all is looking good for now. My cervix has shortened (grrr) and has gone from over 4cm down to 3.3cm so still not a crucial, dangerous loss or measurement but still a bit scary for me. I hate seeing a loss in length and am very scared that I might end up back in hospital like last time around so am planning to have the next few weeks off work and just try doing as much bedrest as I can manage at home in a bid to keep my cervix stable. Other than that though, bubs is growing perfectly and was even using my cervix as a bit of a punching bag which was pretty funny to see. I still don't feel a massive amount of movement but my placenta is right at the front and bubs is lying with its feet right on it so every kick is going straight into the cushion.
Anyway, hope everyone else is going well!
