High hcg

Be reason to worry. I've never heard of a molar pregnancy though so I may look that up.

Bloods up to 2932 at what may be 4w1d or up to 3 days further so that sounds more reasonable to be in my non doctor knowledge. Last time I was up to 14000 at 5w so seems to be going along those lines....

Oh so exciting. I remember having a very early positive test with the last one, and thought there was a posibility of twins - but was a single baby, growing in there.....but who knows.

My hcg was around 5000 at 4weeks post ovulation (with unmedicated fertility treatment so I know my dates are correct!). I'm now 31wks pregnant with ONE healthy bub :)
Everyone's body reacts differently and the 'ranges' are just guides.

Thanks guys. I'll be very happy for there to be just one bub in there. Don't get me wrong, I'll be happy if there was more two, but one is plenty. Just something healthy will be great!

Im surprised you werent sent for an early scan because of the hcg levels being high, my dr did.

I'm having a scan on Tuesday. I probably could have gone in earlier, but I wanted to have the best chance of their being a heartbeat when I go for peace of mind to stop me stressing.

Thats fair enough, my first scan there wasnt even fetal poles just empty sacs

All came back really good. There is ONE little bub in there with a heartbeat of 143BPM. My dates were spot on too, so I guess it was just randomly high numbers.

I am 6 weeks pregnant and had my HCG taken yesterday morning. Thursday last week they were 15,500 and yesterday(3 days later) they were 42,000. Had an ultrasound today and the baby measured 6 weeks. But from what I have read this seems a bit high for only just 6 weeks. Going by ovulation I should be 6 weeks so the gestation is right, but why are my levels so high? I would be guessing they are even higher today and the cut off for the sixth week is 56,000.

What were your levels at 6 weeks?

I think at 6wks mine were nearly the same as yours if not more! Ive had horrendous morning sickness which could be an indicator of the high levels but otherwise bub is healthy and there is only one. Id just say its a super sticky baby!

Mine were a bit more than that at 6 weeks. They were really high. Was just one bub, nothing wrong at all. Didn't have the levels checked this time so can't compare, but my m/s was worse this time, but still pretty bad last time.

Thanks ladies, it's almost like I'm looking for things to worry about! :lol: As long as some of you had similar levels that's all i need to know :)

With DD hcg at 6 weeks was 73000. I reckon you might just have a super awesome bub in there ;)

Yeah mine was around 74000 at 6 weeks as well and I too had shocking morning sickness which lasted until 26 weeks. Bub is very healthy and only 9 weeks to go now!!!

Actually, my ms has been awful. I haven't vomited yet, but feel like I am about to, ALL DAY. I feel sick, then I get hunger pangs, I eat and then feel sick again. Not fun at all :(

Don't know what mine were at 6 weeks with DD3 but at 7.5 weeks they were over 300,000 - everyone was convinced there were twins in there but just one very strong little bubba. Didn't get hcg checked at all with DD2 but with DD1 they were really high the whole way through too.

Each pregnancy for me has been MS 24/7 for basically 9 months.

Yay nice big numbers! Now I had much lower hcg all the way and they were a bit worried and I have had BAD BAD lol ms ... Just wanted to ruin the high hcg equals mc theory :) ha ha

My hcg levels were really high this pregnancy, i think probably higher than yours at 6 weeks so try not to worry. At 4w 1d they were about 3000, which is well over the suggested range. One thing I will warn you about, is that if you have the 12 week scan and test AND they are still high then you might come back with a higher risk for Down syndrome. Our 12 week scan was great, but my bloods weren't as my HCG was about 2x the average and my Papp-a was about .25x the average (my ob said that often if hcg is high then the other can be low - not sure if that's always the case though). Anyway, everything is fine, and I'm sure things are fine with you too, but just thought I'd warn you as I had no idea and it was quite a shock when i got my results back.

Yep, mine was super high both pregnancies too and totally normal,:)

It is said that female embryos cause higher levels than boys ;)
Don't know what my levels were wit an of mine but my m/s was much worse with boys.

My hcg was 60,000 at 5 wks 6 days and I had no morning sickness at all in pregnancy! Your levels are great, you're baking a good one ;)

I get really low HCG with mine. Found out that with me you can see the sac before I'll get a positive test lol.

I was high with my last pregnancy and this one. However this one, I have two embryonic sacs. One is empty, one has the baby. That might be part of it this time, but I can't be sure. Sorry, I don't commit numbers to memory these days, but it was (both times) for the fertility clinic nurse to comment and sound surprised.

My friend who just got her BFP last week registered a very gigh HCG reading today. She had 2 embies put in and her initial reading was 498 at 4 weeks 1 day. Today her second reading was 6130 at 5 weeks. Could it be a singleton or or a multiple pg? She asked me to come in here and ask the question. Has anyone had a high reading like this and what was the outcome?

I don't remember my exact numbers now, but my last pregnancy in particular I had very high hcg numbers the whole way through - so much so that when I went in for a scan at 7 weeks all the nurses at my FS were absolutely stunned that I only had a singleton.

My pregnancy with DD1 also had really high hcg levels too - again I was warned it could well be twins but was just one.

I had very high HCG with my first pregnancy. Only one baby, but I was told before the scan it could be twins.

I has really high levels as well :) I'll try and dig out my book once Quinn is in bed and see if I can find out what my levels were. From memory though mine were about that and as you know we only had one :)

I had high hcg, 16,300 at 24dpo (which I think works out to 5 weeks & 3 days), and just one in there for me. goodluck to your friend. : )

I had really high numbers with DS2, my GP thought I was having multiples again!

Amy, no wonder your HCG levels were sky high with all your horrid m/s! You were such a little trooper :)

Congrats to your friend and good luck to her! My HCG at 4 weeks 1 day with DD was 420 and at 5 weeks 14650- just one very active little lady in there. FWIW, my HCG this time is low, very low in comparison to DD and have suffered hyperemesis gravidarum with both bubs.
