Did you have a Strech & Sweep... and did it work?

I had one done on Friday (my EDD) but no labour as yet either. Loads more BH & some pretty grim discharge but no plug or anything exciting. I was 2cm & "soft & stretchy" too. I was expecting in to hurt but it was surprisingly fine. I have to have another on Thursday but I will be requesting a MW do it again I'm not letting the Ob do it :lol: Drs usually make things like that way more painful!

I had one at 41+2, started losing plug the next morning and contractions began that afternoon.
I only scored a 4 on the bishop thingy (so technically unfavourable still), but obviously it helped things along anyway.

Well bub is still hanging out in there so I guess it was unsuccessful. It did help me lose my plug and intensify BH.

Will be seeing if I can have another done Wednesday :)

They only work if baby is ready to come anyways!!

I had one at 39+1 and another yesterday at 39+6. The only thing they did for me so far was make me lose mucous in the amount of a golf ball (lol TMI). That was for the first one. Yesterdays seemed to be a little more successful to a point as there was blood on the glove when she came out (again TMI) and now every time I cough or sneeze I get a band of tightening that lasts for about 2 seconds around my belly and back. BORING!!! I guess it did accomplish something though. The midwife had a student with her, and I was asked if she could "poke around" too. So I donated my body to science for a little bit and let her go "fishing" too I guess. Not pleasant, but seeing as I want to be a midwife too some day I hope some nice lady also allows me to go delving into the depths of the unknown. (Why should anyone be excited by this prospect???? Lol)
Oh PS The stretch and sweeps didnt hurt either time, just a little uncomfortable. I think it hurts the "dignity" a little more :)
