With my 2nd pregnancy, I saw my OB at 6 weeks due to bleeding during the u/s we saw a sac the size of 6 weeks with no bub, I was told to come back in 2 weeks time, so at 8 weeks I trot along and we see two sacs and one live baby, that baby happens to be Adrian who is now over 2 years of age, goes to show weird things happen!!!
I have a different OB this time and he would not do a u/s on me till 8 weeks even though I`d been bleeding, he said it`s often hard to detect a HB till then.
Hugs to you and try and stay positive, I know it`s hard to do at times.

I had a scan at about 5w 5d and it was an internal scan (and a very good, very experienced operator), but they couldn't see the heartbeat, only the yolk sac or whatever it is.
It depends on so much, like the exact position and stuff.
(The scan was to rule out a possible ectopic pregnancy because I had a pain in my side, that turned out to be the thingamy cyst doing its usual stuff, but hurting a bit - no biggie.)
Don't worry!

Hi All,
Thanks so much everyone for your support I am feeling a bit better today about the scan especially since I was dry retching (sp?) all morning in the shower and have been having dizzy spells all day which is a good sign.
I guess I am just super anxious about this pregnancy.
Cheers again x x x x x
