I have a DS from my first marriage and found out what he was going to be, but like many of you know, the ultrasound is not always 100% accurate with regard to determining the sex of a baby.
I want to find out the sex so I can refer to the baby as "him" or "her" but DH is adamant that he doesn't want to know the sex. If I hear one more person say, "but don't you want a surprise?" I'm going to go off my rocker!! I've said to those people, I'm not preparing for a boy or a girl, I will be preparing for a baby. To me, the surprise is meeting this little person and seeing what they look like.
I'm calling our little "Ramlet" a "he" at the moment and DH is convinced it's a girl. IF I do find out, I won't be telling him, but I'm sure he'll give in and want to know. I might surprise him and NOT find out, but I haven't made up my mind as yet.

I definitely wanted to know and DH didn't, so we agreed that I could find out but not tell anyone else except my mum, and I wasn't to tell DH that I knew. So, before our 20 week scan I slipped the receptionist a note explaining the situation, and asking that the sonographer write down in his notes what the sex was. I then called back later and found out.
I'll definitely be doing the same next time. I managed to keep the secret throughout the pregnant, and just hid the girl flavoured things I bought along the way from DH. I loved knowing we were having a little girl (and so did my Mum!!) and DH and I were both happy.

We have never found out and I love the suspense.
We are of course tempted but we both know we would be disappointed if we found out.. nothing like gtteing the best surprise ever :)
Some say finding out means you just get that surprise earlier but I feel the opposite..

Hello.
I was desperate to find out, but DH was equally adamant that he didn't want to know... and he won. So now I'm just waiting. The nursery is neutral, although I have visions of buying brightly coloured transfers, and the baby clothes I've received are all neutral too. I'm sure once the baby's here I'll receive plenty of gender-appropriate gifts. ;)
I really wanted to find out, because I have my heart set on a boy, and wanted to deal with the disappointment (read: smack myself round the head and tell myself to grow up) if she is a girl, well before he/she gets here and I suddenly have to cope with whoever's in my arms. Argh. Oh well. 6 weeks to go.
