Its all personal choice some people stay away from everything that could be a risk others are selective others eat what ever they want.
If you are going to stress dont do it!

I've had 2 so far this pg... I worry each time though!
I used to talk to my shop and ask them to heat the meat through on the grill after cutting it to make sure it was properly heated and etc.
OR if you go to a real turkish/middle eastern place and not just a kebab shop, you can get Shish as your kebab meat...fresh cooked over the charcol. Delish!
MMMMM....chicken with the works, hot chilli sauce and sour cream.
OMG I WANT.
Mmm, shish are my faaavourite!
Mmmmm now I want a kebab, I usually only ever have them at 3 am. Ha. So what did you decide?
I don't see why you can't as long as where you go seems pretty safe. Maybe go first thing in the morning so you know the meat hasn't been sitting there all day. But really, it's up to you, if you want one, get one. If that's what you're craving, then do it, just make sure you go somewhere you trust :)
I think u would need to know your kabab shop lol. Like the one in the marketplace in shep (Healthy Kababs) has yum yum yummo ones and their meat etc seems to be much hotter and say Kababalicious in the target complex thing. If i was preg, i would have one but stick to lamb and beef as i think chicken can carry too many nasties.
U can alwas ask for just the meat on one and take it home, warm it up and add your salad from home ;)
I am constantly worried about listeria risk and I am one to avoid the high risk foods. Having said that, I do get kebabs. I get meat, cheese & sauce, grilled with no salad. I take it home and put fresh salad on it myself if I feel like salad. I find I mostly crave the meat though. The place I buy from is constantly busy and has a very high turn over.
Nope wouldn't go near it, kebabs are notorious for food posioning because they sit on the spit all day and you never know what temp the meat is being kept at.
I agree with the other ladies the salads are premade and a risk of listeria.
Why not make a home made kebab?
Anything I'm unsure about eating I don't eat. Not willing to risk it for a few minutes of guilty pleasure.
Mmmm, kebabs....shish kebabs....you are all making me hungry!!!
I have had a kebab or two this pg and I'm pretty sure I had a few last pg too. As others have said it's up to you what kind of attitude you have towards the foods you eat. I eat take aways and things like that, but only from places I have eaten from alot before and places I know have a fast turnover of foods. I also asked the guy at the kebab place to heat the meat through in the microwave for 30secs.
What about a kebab from a fish n chip shop or something, they won't be a traditional kebab, but you know some places cook the meat on the hot plate while you wait, add some fresh salad and garlic sauce and voila :)
My rule of thumb was if i was going to regret it later then i would not eat it now! i just stressed to much about it which was proberly worse!
By law now, all spit kebab meat must be cut from the spit and then put on the grill, so there is as much risk in eating this meat as there is in eating any other meat cooked anywhere.
