Congratulations on getting the birth that you wanted!!! And even bigger congrats on the safe delivery of you litttle boy. Jacob is just gorgeous :)
Don't let him take ur power & rights away hun.As the other ladies have said ,find someone else, even if it means going public.I have had all my children through the public hospital & i've never had any probs apart from the occasional cranky nurse but u r going to get that anywhere.
I'm sure there is someone out there that will let u do this.Take back ur control & go to someone else who will support u in being part of YOUR childs birth.
Good luck!
Edited to add-sorry i didn't see there were more pages & that u did get what u wanted, silly me! I'm going to go & read ur story now......
Very inspirational, I'm so pleased everything went beautifully for you, congratulations and well done.
MummaDuke, what a fantastic story! I was unaware of this thread of yours and I actually posted a new thread today in the Caesarean Section Support forum about maternal-assisted caesareans. After my horror caesar under a general anaesthetic last year I got into contact with Paula Beckton and spoke to my Ob who has agreed to allow me have a maternal-assisted caesar if I need to have a CS with #2. YIPPEE! I am dearly hoping for a VBAc next time round but if I need to have a caesar than to me a maternal-assisted one is the next best thing!
I posted the new forum today because I wanted to share the option with everyone out there. Unfortunately I have had some mixed responses to my post though :( and I thought I was posting in the caesarean Section SUPPORT forum! Oh well.
It was lovely to read your story Mummaduke, and the photo's were fantastic!
I've just replied to your thread - I thought the 'horrid' response was completely uncalled for and should have been edited actually but you'll find that when mentioning this to a lot of people you'll get narrow minded responses, don't let that put you off...I didn't and I heard every reason why I shouldn't do this and witnessed every grimace that could be had!
I really do hope you succeed with your VBAC and it's something that with the luxury of hindsight I wished I'd pushed more for with my second child but you've got a back up plan and the positive support you'll receive from your family, friends and care providers is all that matters.
Good luck with everything!
