I used Kotex and thought they were great!! I had some left once the bleeding had stopped and just used them overnight when my period came back just so I wouldn't waste them...lol.
Jas, never thought of the overlapping, great tip!!

Hello ladies,i just wanted to add, I`ve also used "Poise Pads Super",come in a packet of 14,good for Hossy, very soft & very absorbent. Also I`ve used the very large "Tena Pads-come in a dark blue packet of 8!" But because i bleed so heavy after child birth, these were very good for night time,& soaking up leakage. A midwife also told me about using double pads, too, but that was years ago, lol. Kotex or Stayfree i usually use for my normal monthly AF.I suppose we are lucky we have so much to choose from, these days!;)
I used the Stayfree Maternity Pads for the first 2 days. Yes they are huge and surfboards but I needed that extra protection. TMI WARNING..... I had VB and bleeding was heavy for the first week (it was a race against time to get dressed after a shower!!!)
Anyway the Stayfree did help (I had bought 2 packets, only used 1 and gave the other pack to a friend who is PG) and with the swelling it kinda held "it all in place" and reduced any pain when moving as things kinda stayed in the one place.. Once the swelling went down though around day 2/3 I switched to the Libra Maternity Ultra Thin Pads (used two packs of these and then switched to normal pads).. MUCH better. Once the swelling went down the Stayfree actually started to rub on my stitches so was not comfortable but the Libra didn't as they are ultra thin but still gave enough protection..
Biggest tip though is to ensure you change regularly, especially if you are bleeding heavy. I only had one leakage and it was as I was getting up to the bathroom and moved the wrong way on the bed and voila!! Not pleasant!!
Also make sure you take underwear that has really good elastic cause with the bigger pads they are heavier and obviously will hold fluid so if your underwear elastic is a little looser then things will "sag" a little which isn't pleasant.. I found the BONDS boy leg underwear has fabulous elastic and holds everything in place.
Hope this helps in the fun time of packing the hosi bag!!
