Well sandwich didnt work. Relfux is back :( I would go out myself but there is a massive wind storm out there and id rather not be driving in it. Just gonna have to sleep standing tonight i guess!
If you have any peppermint tea - it is good for soothing these types of issues.
How'd you go?? Did it ease at all?
Yeah i finally got to bed about 2:30am.
:hug: I feel for you, I am on a script for the reflux and I still suffer to the point of waking up and vomiting.. Fruit tingles do help but obviously not as much as an antacid.
Well i have my antenatal appt this afternoon, so maybe i'll ask if there is anything they can give me.
I take Pariet and I think the other approved is Zantac. I am hoping to stick it out with the Pariet because it is the only one that is safe while b/fing where Zantac is not. Both are catagory b drugs. I don't believe there are any catagory a drugs for reflux :(
Hey, you poor thing - you need all the rest you can get at the moment. Not good going getting to sleep at 230am !!!
I had bad heartburn with pregnancy #3. To the point where i used to 'get scared' of night time, cause i was so fearful of a 230am sleep time !!!!
I found peppermint rennies helped, AND my frame of mind. I know that may seem like hocus pocus, but if i was worried about anything (getting my DD to kindy on time :rolleyes:, or managing the load of ironing i had :rolleyes: - not life threatening things,but important things to me) my heartburn was worse. I found my worrying about the heartburn, often made the heartburn worse.....I dunno if i making sense. I hope you get it sorted and get some well deserved rest.....
I suffered really bad from heartburn and reflux!
Tums or Rennies worked for me. They are both safe!
Had to stay away from vegemite, sweet chilli sauce and anything fizzy......I hated not being able to eat vegemite but that upset me the worst!!!
If you use the Tums or Rennies make sure you have nearly as soon as you finish eating and they will help!
Also do keep propping yourself up whilst trying to sleep cos lying down absolutely killed me!!

Reflux or gastric irritation in pregnancy is usually considered to be hormone related where the sphincter or valve becomes relaxed and therefore allows the gastric contents to flow backwards into the oesophagus. However any mechanical restrictions throughout the abdomen, chest or pelvis may also affect the bodies ability to cope with the expanding uterus and therefore causing the reflux to occur. Tension in the upper neck may irritate the vagus nerve which is in charge of the abdominal organs, therefore worsening symptoms. In my experience i've had a lot of success at decreasing or eliminating such symptoms with osteopathic treatment. Hope this is helpful!
Someone today told me that a bit of toothpaste works (again I think its the bicarb soda in it). I had it today after lunch but had a mylanta and its all good now. Hope you have better night tonight. Make sure you go to the chemist soon just in case
Well my GP has prescribed me Pariet. Hopfully it works! I took someTums today and it did nothing.
