I bloated up really bad in the first trimester, and then it was hardly noticeable until about 20 weeks I think. Now I've pretty much popped, but I've only gained 3kg, so I must be a slow gainer this time cos I was so heavy at the start.. LOL
Hopefully I don't get too much bigger or my pants won't fit me! At the moment I can still fit into my size 18 jeans without a belly belt or anything, so thats a bonus.
Hi ladies!
Welcome to the newbies to the thread!
kimbles, you're about the same size as me at the begining of this pg. Fairly easy to hide in the first trimester!! Though I popped faily early, only I could really tell it was a baby belly, not a tubby tummy! But this is my 3rd bub in 4yrs!
Mel, yay at only gaining 3kg!! You go girl! You're gonna have bub and be a svelt swxy mumma without too much effort afterwards! Hehe, I was like that after I had Lily. I only gained 8kg, then after I had her, I had actually lost weight from my pre preg weight! Oh how I wish that would happen again! But I seriously doubt it will.
I cracked the 100kg mark last week when I weighed in at the docs, so I'm expecting more of a gain this week too! But with only just over 3wks to go, I'm hoping it's not too much! It's a bit depressing int hat even some of my maternity clothes are getting too tight on me now! I am living in my dag-o-rama maternity yoga pants I've had forever and maternity pj's. I soooo can't wait til I can buy new clothes. I haven't gotten any for months because it's just not worth the money right now. I so need undies and bras, as well as everything else, but I realised the other day that I'm wearing undies from when I was pg with DS....he's 2 1/2 now. So they're 3-ish yrs old....same as my bras. One of them is even one I had when bfing DD who is now almost 4!!! :omg: So yep, I desperately need clothes!
I am feeling huge and swelling alot. I no longer own ankles and my fingers are just looking more sausage like than normal. I feel too heavy for my feet sometimes and I so just want to have this baby!! I can't wait to be able to consciously do things to lose weight! Ah well, the time will be ere soon!
Hope everyone is well!
Congratulations Kimbles01! My DH has started calling our LO Peanut too recently (started out as M&M, but the peanut M&Ms are his favourite so he's switched to Peanut).
Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2011 brings all of us happy and healthy babies!
:hello: Hope everyone is well.
Just wondering what type of exercise you all done/are doing through out your pregnancy? I am thinking of starting swimming and walking from the 2nd trimester onwards :) and perhaps yoga?
Ooooh, I just found this thread!
I weighed about 90kg (I am 164cm) just before I fell pregnant after losing about 10kg, and then fell to about 85kg with hyperemis, and am now about 97kg with 6.5 weeks to go....am thinking I will prob crack the 100kg :( but on the plus side (haha!) I have come home from hospital weighing exactly the same as my pre-preg weight each time....I do have big babies though. DD was 9lb and DS was 11 lb 2 oz which is just over 5 kg in Baby loss without all the other stuff!
I plan on continuing with Weight Watchers as soon as this Bub is born, and have already bought the latest Mag all ready to go....I turn 30 in August and I am DETERMINED to shed as much weight as I can before then....it is my motivation anyway :)
I have been having trouble with my teeth, and am waiting on a filling to be done next week, so I can't each much bad stuff at the moment luckily!
Hope everyone else is going well :)
MissM, what's exercise? :dunno: Seriously though, I don't think you can go wrong with swimming and walking. Both are recommended for various reasons.
Faithful Mumma, congrats on your weight loss. I hope the next few weeks go smoothly and you do leave the hospital at (or below) your pre-pg weight.
Afm, I've actually gained 2kg in the last few weeks, but I'm pretty sure it's all fluid retention. Thankfully it hasn't continued to climb, so I'm now sitting steady at 98-99 (instead of 96-97 where I'd been since 20wks)... Still managing to stay under that 35 BMI that would prevent me using the bath in the birth suite so far.
Other than that, only other hiccup has been bub turning breech between 36 & 37wks. We had an ECV on Monday, which worked first go, so hopefully she has gotten the message and will stay head down now.
Hi again all!
Well I think I'm the biggest of all of us but I still have managed to not gain any weight...unless you count the 1kg from constipation LOL. I hit the 3rd tri this week.
Looked at some recent photos of myself today and JEEBUS I look disgusting. :o
I am not medicated for my anxiety disorder at the moment so going out and getting exercise is just not happening. Can't seem to get past the first step of going out the front door.
Have a good Dr this pregnancy which is better then my last public hospital pregnancy experience. She ordered a scan becuase I am obese and she can't feel the baby so well...understandable.
Scan showed baby is in the 50% percentile for growth - so totally average, which is a good (?) thing - and also showed mass amniotic fluid. So off for my GD test soon incase the excess fluid is a symptom. Probably not though becuase I had the same with the last pregnancy (excess fluid I mean) and didn't have GD.
Also sending me to a Hematologist (sp) becuase despite taking all my supplements and etc, my blood results aren't showing them. Platelets also still steadily falling.
BUT
GUESS WHAT!?
At my last visit my Bloiod Pressure ws PERFECT!
:p
This is a big thing after the problems I had with it in last pregnancy. I was pretty stoked.
Not looking forward to the GD test though...3 or 4 hours of waiting around. For some reason the waiting room in the pathology place at the hospital is the hottest in the entire hospital! Very small and tighly packed with preg women = blech.
Sorry to babble and sorry I haven't been around lately.
Hi y'all!!!
I love water aerobics! It makes me feel awesome. Waiting excitedly for it to start up again once school goes back. I hate walking as I hate the heat.
Well I have found out I have GD so I've actually started losing weight. I put on 7kg in the first 20 weeks, then 1kg between 20 and 29, and now I've lost 1kg at 30 weeks. At least there is one upside to the GD :)
Hi everyone
I too have been lucky so far and have put on less than 2kg overall (now almost 25weeks) so am aiming to keep any other gains to a minimum and have a weight loss at the end. Fingers crossed!
Jaki - I'm due for my GD test in a couple of weeks and have been worried all pg that I will get it (being obese and having PCOS which is apparently also a risk factor). Are there any symptoms that you recognised before you got the test? What do you have to do when you do have it? What has made you lose the weight?
Hope you're all feeling well, whatever stage you are at :)
Hi Mellybelly..... I was thirsty, which is a symptom. Tired and cranky, but they are also pg symptoms. Ummm possibly for me the massive decrease in weight gain was a symptom. I cant quite remember how she explained it but when the sugar etc isnt dispersed of properly the body turns to the fat stores for energy. The weight loss is simply due to diet change since the diagnosis. If you do have GD the doctor will assess how it will be treated, they try diet control first and if that doesnt work then you need insulin, like me :(
Hi ladies sorry I've been missing in action, no Internet at home and I've only just found tapatalk. Internet should be up and running by next week but no laptops :-( lost them in the flood (where down at cash converters on loan and was meant to pick them up Friday just been) but other than that we were affected thank goodness - we live in Goodna.
I did my second Glucose test on Monday and the results are clear, only issue is platelets so needing another test in a months time. From now on in I'm heading to Mater womans fortnightly, next appointment is with the anaesthetics due to the two heart blocks I had last time.
I have no idea how much weight I've put on this pregnancy and I'm not sure I want to know but I'm sure scales will be involved in the coming months.
Well best move on with my day, watching a friends kids today (3 under 3) so pretty busy. Take care
Hi everyone!
I'm not sure how much weight I've put on either - last check it was 3.6kg and that was a few weeks ago I think? I can't remember, this pregnancy is going so quickly!!!!
I think I've put on 5-6kg? All I know is I'm back into three figures :(.
With any luck it will fall off quickly like it did after I had DS!
Wow girls only little weight gains. I think mine is up to 8-10!!! I'm not quite 3 figures yet but will be by the end for sure!!
Only put on 2.7kg for the pregnancy. Same thing happened with Charlotte.
Still a ways away from 3 figures, but gone over my happy number.
