DH hates doing litter... he always says he has done it for 9 months so that means he dont have ot change dirty nappies for 9 months after bub is born.... but as soon as DD come home he was doing it!!
One of my cats when i was pg with Chels would always lay against my tummy with her head firmly against my tummy..... now she is the only cat that really likes Chels and doesnt run when she screams or cries!
I grew up with cats and even had unpleasant experiences playing in the sandpit only to find a cat had beat me to it, but despite that, when I was tested for toxoplasmosis, I had no antibodies so had not been exposed to it. I asked my Ob about it and he said that unless you are putting your pet's poo in your mouth then you should be fine LOL. Although, any excuse for men to clean the kitty litter tray and I am all for it!!! The times I had to change the litter I just washed my hands thoroughly, and have had two healthy babies since. I think it's weird though that so many women get told that they can't even touch their cats!!! I wouldn't be able to do that, my cats were my best friends during pregnancy, having naps with me and cuddling up when I felt miserable, as you do sometimes with crazy hormones!
LOL Kelly, I'm not too sure I've eaten cat poo, but I have the antibodies. I only found out I had toxoplasmosis when I went to a retina specialist with a blur in the vision from my left eye.
I think one of the reasons Toxoplasmosis is high is France (referring to an earlier post) because they eat steak tartare.
i found out on friday that i have the antibodies too, i have two cats, but i have never eaten their poo! lol! i have always been a bit obsessive about washing my hands so not really sure how i got it. anyway am happy about it but will continue to make hubby change the kitty litter :-P
yeah my cats have been lovely, one of them has been insisting on cuddling up to my tummy every evening, i wonder if she can hear the heartbeat?
and the other day when i was having a great big boohoo hormonal cry on the bathroom floor she came in and sat in my lap and started licking me
I've never been tested so I don't know if I have the antibodies. I've always lived with cats too and I love my kitty so much- she gets all my maternal love hormones and LOVES my daytime naps  My H has been in charge of changing her litter for ages so I don't even think about that.
