I too am trying to lose weight, the stubborn love handles and extra juicy bits that developed over the butt and thighs!! :)
I think a nice gentle way to get back into exercise is walking every day. Take baby in the pram, or leave baby with DH. Its also a way of getting out of the house and clearing your mind a bit.

I put on 14kg with DD2 (yay for bed rest ), 74kg
I was down 6kg after she was born, 68kg, and I have just started losing the rest, I am down to 65kg and I am jsut looking closely at what I am eating, but BF'ing can't cut out oo much, but skipping all the lollies, chocolates, juice, soft drinks, or fruit in the evening and thing that has extra fat or sugar I don't need.
Breakfast is a bowl of porridge, with a small amount of skim milk and a bit of raw sugar, a late morning tea, two boiled eggs, then lunch is four slices of grainy/seedy bread, one with hame (visible fat removed) the other corned silverside (visible fat removed), lettuce, tomato, cucumber, beetroot. Afternoon snack of almonds or a small amount of fruit (low sugar options), dinner grilled meat, or if it is schnitzel, minimal oil and well drained, pease, brocholii, carrot, sometimes corn, no potato, pumpkin (high carb foods). Lots of water and some tea.
And it just seems to kick my metabolism back into gear and the weight "falls" off.
