 green hunny sorry your having a ruff trot hun,but im the same as grub,i took the stand and im the one who feeds charlie, puts her to bed and so on other wise i think they get a bit to confused.
and yep boohoo to your dh cause linc was wet,im sure he knows what a wonderful mother you are hun ,sometimes we just get so dam tired we take things out on each other.theses babies are full on sometimes.
kelly, good luk with your fs appt hun.
a big hello to you all girls
-
Thanks ladies :grouphug: you are so kind and really gave me a boost I needed.
smithy I forgot to mention how cute Charlie is in that pic,
When did you all start feeding at set times? Linc is so over the shot I have been feeding 3 hourly daily around 6 9 12etc and 4 hourly if he is super unsettled (3 redummy's pats etc). He seams to go down at 6 and up at 6 but waking twice a night again  but a cold is a horrid thing for us and we can blow our noses.
Just a quicky for mums who've done colds before, is it ok to keep letting him play like normal? He loves his jolly jumper, house is warm but I'm not sure if I should let him? the upright stuff is good for his nose. He's also wanting his arms out now but keeps smaking himself awake 4 months is awkward isn't it, they're not quite coordinated enough but strong willed enough to think they are :D
-
oh green poor little linc being sick, there nothing worse.
i would keep letting him play if thats keeping him happy might bounce some boogers out of him lol.
as for the feeding bit ,i just feed charlie a bottle when eva she wants one mostly 3-4 hourly but through the night she only gets one bottle and thats usually about 4-5 am, apart from this she sleeps all night now and if by chance she does wake up NOPE NO BOTTLE i give her the dummy put sooky back up near her face flip her over and thats it,shes been doing this routine for a few weeks now,i have a smalll lamp in her room i turn that on and make no eye contact with her at all otherwise she laughs her head off lol.
i tried very hard with this routine and at first it was a bit hard but now its bed at 7.30pm and awake at 7.30am with 2 very good sleeps through the da sometimes 3.
i sure hope he works him self out soon hun makes life so much easier
-
Green i agree with smithy if he wants to play let him. you will know when they are to sick too play because they wont, they wont do anything but sleep. As for the routine feeds it is up to you. I personally like routine feed times as it is easy to plan your day around but you need to be flexible. Xavier feeds are as follows, 4.30 - 6.30am somewhere in here when he wakes. If it is closer to 6, 6.30 he usually does not go done again. 7.00-8.30 depending on what time he had the last feed, 11.00 -12.00, 2.00-3.00, 5.30 and then a dream feed at 9.30. Xavier is not a good sleeper during the day but sleeps through at night ( I am considering stopping the dream feed). My sister in law confort feeds so anytime Seth becomes upset she feeds him. I refuse to do this and use other settling techniques. At night I never give Xavier any stimulation, that is I dont talk to him, minimal eyecontact and minimal light only enough to see what I am doing. I have done this with both the boys , Campbell slept through from 6 weeks and Xavier from about 12. oh and not that I am saying you should do this but both my boys have slept on their tummies, Xavier more than Campbell. Gotta go have words with X you would think he could be a little more considerate and sleep for the two hours that C is at kindy but no it is time to party.

Green: Big no no for DH, we basically have a routine in our house that mummy does all the feeding & settling to sleep and daddy is about fun and play with daddy sometimes taking the feeding on the weekends. Tara always settles much better for me and if she does wake during the night (which has been a lot recently with teething) if DH get her she crys loader until I go in and give her a hug and then resettle her. As for the routine feeding, we have been lucky as Tara was only on 3 feeds a day from 4 months but basically now with her feeds she has a bottle at 9-9.30am, solids at 12pm, bottle 2.30-3pm, solids 5pm and final bottle 6-6.30pm.
Thanks for asking about the FS appt, all went well and FS has agreed to let us go ahead with having 2 embryo's transferred at our FET. So a plan is in place and I'm now back on the pill to start cycling for hopefully a transfer in July.
Anyway better get ready for some sleep.... hopefully Tara sleeps tonight so I can get some sleep as well.
-
Out of need Xavier is sleeping in the cot in his own room tonight, lets see if anyone gets some sleep tonight. He is a much better sleeper at night so hoping that he will be alright. Mummy's feeling a bit lost without him close by.
-
Saph how did Xavier go? fingers crossed for you. Saph do you have a monitor sleeping them on their tummies? Linc seams to like side but facing down but he's always awake on his back but sleeps on his tummy on me if he's really unsettled. Child care will only sleep them on their back.
Kelly how exciting about July :leap:
Thanks for all your thoughts on feeding. I feel better as I'm doing the same thing. I think I just need a bit of a confidence boost as work is starting soon. I think Linc's cold has buggered him up heaps as he was sleeping till 3-4am too but now it's unsettled at 10, 11 and then full scream at 1am (feed) then unsettled at 5am, I'm thinking I"ll feed him again then rather than trying to resettle him till 6am (so I can sleep more) I don't anyways. I would really love Linc to feed less during the day but I think this wont happen till we start solids, with all his cold issues I've put it off again after his first taste which went ok, more like "hmm what is this" not "um num num"
Still having wrap battles with Linc too he really doesn't want to but he still doesn't settle well without arms in. I think it's going to be a hard one for a couple of weeks, I cut the feet out of his night wrap with the zip but still use the velcro one during the day but he busts out of it. All fun and games,
Have a great day ladies Child care visit today. I'm going to leave him again fingers crossed
-
kelly ,awsom news about july hun.
green, miss c still just plays in her food too lol more a game for her i think even spits it at mummy and daddy lol funny thing.
have a great day all.

Thanks girls, although the change in the legislation in Victoria has created masses of paperwork for me (plus the additional cost) we have to get a police check done and also a Dept Community Services check as well to make sure we have never had any protective orders issued against us. Both of these take between 2-3 weeks to get back and have to be back before any transfer can be undertaken, so lots of running around this week plus we have to do updated bloods as well. Good thing I started now so hopefully everything will be o.k by July.
So any girls in Vic who are going to try again my recommendation is to start planning a bit earlier than expected due to all the extra paperwork needed.
-
Green yes we have a monitor that picks up breating movement, so this makes me a little more comfortable with sleeping them on there tummies. But it still worries me at times.
Xavier slept fine in his cot and own room, he woke at 5 for his usual feed and then went back down til 7.30.
Can anyone tell me how many breastfeeds did you give at 4 months, I am doing 6 but at times it feels like I am force feeding him. We have not started him on solids. (To be honest don't really want the hassle, and he is not showing any interest anyway.) Will start at 6 months. We have some serious food intolerences
-
Wow only 6 Saph! DS would have still been on 10-12  but he was always a snacker (still is!). If he's happy, pooing and weeing etc then don't worry about it. I'm keen to delay solids as long as possible too - it's such a hassle. At that age they tend to lose interest a bit as they're so interested in the world around them too.
That sucks Kelly! Vic's the only place they do that, right?
DS is making up songs. Today he sang "yummy toast" (lyrics go, yummy toast, yummy toast, yummy toast, etc) whilst bobbing and swaying.
-
Hi all I have been MIA for a while as my internet is sooooo slow and we have been busy with our new allotment, growing tons of lovely organic veg! DS is enjoying being outdoors all the time and is alot more settled generally. Perhaps he likes the warmer weather!!
Sorry not much time for persies but will respond to a few things
Saph - I am still demand feeding DS. So I really have no idea how many feeds he has. I would say that it would always be more than 6 though. I still feed him when he is upset to settle him and I have been offering the boob alot more now it is warmer so he gets a good drink. There is absolutely no regularity to our feeding system!! I couldn't even tell you when he feeds! I am also not introducing solids until 6 months (or more specifically till I see the three signs that he is ready)
Green - DH and I are also arguing a bit more recently. I think it is pretty normal with a new baby. I remember reading somewhere that a baby arriving is like throwing a hand grenade into a happy marriage!
Smithy- congrats on your move! It sounds gorgeous!
Everyone else hello!!!
-
 marcellus ,that sounds like a beautiful song hun pmsl
poppy a big hi to you hun,and your vegies are sounding very yummy, charlie loves being out doors now that were at the farm, just tried to mow the lawn though as dh is very busy with work and it was a no go she hates the sound of the mower,so poor dh will have to do it ..oh well least i tried,he wont be to impresed though when he gets home and finds out ive broke the handle on the mower:redface: ahhh well time for a ride on mower anyways,if only we had the money id buy one today but thats not gonna happen.
have a wonderful day girls.
-
Poppyfairy hi there great to see you again even with slow internet Warmer weather sounds like the trick
KellyD the cost is up in SA too I think it's wrong but I wont get on my high horse... much!
Marcelous love sing song what a wonderful thing
Smithy too cute Charlie
Thanks Saph I'm thinking of buying one, just so I don't freak out so much.
Hmmm child care went heaps better Tuesday, he screamed big time when I left but was not interested in me at all when I came back, good sign I guess, only an hour though one more hour today then half day tuesday. OMG he's 7.5kg! wopper! guess all that fussy feeding isn't hurting his weight gain and he's busting out of 0's already!
So I'm doing a dummy run tomorrow, I still have no idea how to get out of the house on time with a happy baby? any tips would be great.
DH is being alot better he wants to quit his job, I'd love him to be home with linc all the time just the mortgages that would kill us. yep we stupidly have 3! his mine and ours blah I can cover two but not his. He's got 35K in the bank for renos on his house, I suggested he take 6 months off use that to pay the mortgage and then we move to Darwin :D he didn't say no
-
HOLY mackarel green! 7.5kg! Ash just hit 7kg lol but he's really long. hey that sounds like a lovely idea. re dh quit work and the move. we *think* we are heading to the 'win at the end of the year = i'm soooo ready for a change.
well my mumma is coming this weekend. she saw ash when he was born in dec for 6 days and that's it! poor old chook, it must be so hard for her, she loves babies and he's the only grandchild on both sides.
she's only here for 4 days - i couldn't handle any more.
oh bubba showing tired signs . better go.

Smithy sorry about the rough night, they throw those in just to remind us not to get to comfy. I had a rough night one before last. Xavier slept through to 6 but just before I went to bed his monitor alarm went off, false alarm of course but I didnt get any sleep worrying about it. I have had a few sleepless nights this week because he has moved into his own room. He has been sleeping much better and slept until 6.45 this morning but I still feel like a zombie. Now to try and squeezing in all his feeds before bed tonight.
Green- Linc sounds a bit like my nephew, there is two weeks between him and Xavier and about 1kg and about 5 cm in length. When I compare my two boys at the same age Campbell was always 4-5cm longer but a lot lighter than Xavier. Campbell who is now 3.5 is only 15kg but is about 105cm. Takes after his father tall and thin and Xavier bless him had inherrited my rolls.
After all this babbling Xavier has awoken and I still havent done the shopping list or gotten out of my pjs. Must get of the groccerioes wont shop for themselves.
-
aww thanks saph for thinking of me hun,im still in my pjs too and its 11.15 and i too have food shopping to do its just finding the energy today lol.
