London Miss- we origanally stored Campbells cord blood because my dad had parkinsons. They are doing a lot of research onto stem cell use and cures for this and many other diseases. It could also be used in Campbell got sick with some types of Cancers. He stem cells would be compatiable with both DH and I amd possibly other members of the family. Our parents, brothers and so on. Since my Dad has actually passed away but we cant do it for one child and not the other. It is expensive about $3000 for storage for 18 years but I couldnt put a price on my families health. We have used Cellsence, but there are a few others out there as well. There is also the option of using the public donation system but you have no control over who uses the blood then. Hopefully our two boys never need their blood and no one else in the family needs it either.
Oh yeah, Its a simple procedure. The blood is collected from the umbilical cord after the baby is born. Our OB is doing it or someone from the storage place can do it. The courier just picks up the box from the hospital and takes it away. We dont have any storage facilities here so ours goes back to Sydney. You may want to find a service in Melbourne. Hope this helps.

Well my nephews went home early. My SIL was induced last night that is why we had the boys. But they sent her home today as her cervix wasnt opening. They are going to try again tomorrow night. So I get them again tomorrow night. DS is so exhausted he left his lunch for rest time and promptly fell asleep.
Oh I have my growth scan today, so I can tell you what size elephant I and breading this time. And I am still waiting for the cord blood kit to arrive. Oh well life is about waiting.

ahahaha you girls are too funny! Me and DH DTD on Saturday, for 2 reasons, a) to get things moving and b) DH has been working away so it's a very rare occasion that we get to! Like you guys Things DID NOT go well, nor did it start labour, HOWEVER, it did start to give me period type pain and back aches for the rest of the night so maybe the prostglandins (sp?) have kicked in after all.
Anyway those pains were back again last night so hopefully this baby is coming very soon!
Have also tried 2 doses of the dreaded oil to get things moving about 3 hours apart each, a word to the wise, if you have a fairly "strong" stomach (and are not usually very regular) the only thing this is going to do is make you gag because it is nothing short of Disgusting!!!
So DH is home again tonight and i'm praying that DTD one more time will get me to the place I want to be, pushing a watermelon out!
Anyway , Can't wait to hear the next lot of wonderful news take care everyone!

Well Girls its offical we breed elephants in this house. No nice little 6/7 pounders in this house. He is currently weighing approx 7 pounds 6 or about 3.4kg. And techniqually we still have 6 weeks to go. His tummy is measuring 39 weeks. He already weighs about 1.5kg more than I have put on. Ouch my poor lady bits.
-
I hear ya Saph......from one elephant breeder to another...papp-a what load of bollocks!
-
SAPh~ Wow,sounds like a big bub there! My cousin had a baby a few weeks ago and he was 9 pound 9!! And she had a natural delivery! Id be signing up for a c section if that was me having a baby at 9 pound.I dont know how she did it. My son was 8 pound exactly, and didnt even engage as im quite small,as is my pelvis.Im hoping for no bigger than 7 pound something this time but you cant choose unfortunately :( and my husband is quite solid so im guessing a big baby for me too, athough i havnt put on any weight as yet.
The cord blood thing sounds great! I think i would like to do that to.I couldnt with my son,Connor as he was emergency c section so they dont use the cord blood that way.Not sure why?
London Miss~As you are closest to me in the pregnancy date thingy....do you remember when your symptoms began to ease?Im a bit concerned because about week 10 things started to ease for me.Im not so tired anymore.Thought you could help? :)
AFM im 11 weeks tomorrow and am eagerly awaiting my first ante natal app in 1 week,1 day.Have been feeling a bit more energetic this week.Still emptying my bladder constantly and have food aversions, can smell EVERYTHING (yuk) and am a bit tearful/moody.Im wondering though:
Did anyone have any achiness/crampiness in their abdomen and aching/restless legs in the forst trimester? I have been getting a dull aching feeling mixed with occasional sharp pains in my sides.(sharper pains are only when i sneeze or move around). My legs hurt almost all day.
I dont see my ob for the first time for another week and its slightly worrying.
Also, did anyone ever buy a home doppler? I was thinking of getting one but would like to hear what anyone thinks first?
thanks girls.
Belly Rubs to all and Labour vibes to those nearing the end.xx

Hi Wantbaby. Yes, things definitely changed for me about week 10/11. My morning (ha!) sickness definitely abated. Now it's only set off by a few triggers - black coffee, my best friends perfume (I really ought to tell her!), smelly people on the tram. But it definitely got better. Saturday and Sunday were the first days in weeks where I didn't have an afternoon nap - which is a miracle. I did yesterday though, but I wonder if that was a combination of the heat and not being quite over the tiredness. It's definitely changed though in the last couple of weeks. I am less snappy and irritable and rude, although DH and I did manage to have a fight last night after he liberally sprayed himself with exceptionally toxic bug repellent and then got into bed next to me. As divine vengence, I woke up with one mosquito bite, and he has about 45. (there's a very fat mossie somewhere!) But I definitely feel better than I did! My belly is plumping up at quite an alarming rate, and I'm rubbing on the lotion after the itchy belly button/ stretch marks discussion. I feel a lot more confident than I did. The 12 week scan helped alot. So don't panic...I find in moments of panicking that running through the long list of possible names is a nice distracting thought to get my brain back on track. Works in the middle of the night esp well!
if you get leg cramps, I highly recommend those little tins of tonic water you can buy in the super market? The quinine in it stops leg cramps instantly. Also it has a little bit of salt and sugar in in case that's the problem. I had stomach pains week 9/10. Felt like stretching pains, which is probably (hopefully!) what they were. None really since then.
My best friend from the UK sent me her diary of her babies birth yesterday. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd type it out for you. It's the most enlightening useful thing anyone has told me so far, she tells me about mucus and toilets and all the things I've wondered about and never asked. Everything else about the birth seems to be either airy fairy won't hurt at all it's a magical bonding experience type of thing or it's excrutiating. Neither of which are very helpful. She's tiny and had no drugs, and she said that giving birth was more like doing a long slow boring painful poo, than an axe murder level of pain. Which is very very very reassuring! I know everyone is different, but I found great comfort in this and thought I'd share it!
Hope you are all well. xx

Saph -=- that is a big bubby! Maybe you'll have him early.. who knows Your poor SIL must be feeling pretty fed up.. Hopefully some progress will come her way soon..
Wantbaby #2 I definitely got the sharp pains in the first tri.. I think its just all the expanding and development going on in there.. I guess its harder to think about when u cant feel or see any of it yet but its one of the most dramatic changes the baby makes for the whole pregnancy.. I didn't buy a Doppler but i have heard good things about the little home bought ones.. apparently they're not too expensive either.
Ellas mum sorry to hear the DTD didnt go so well.. Doesnt really help in feeling close does it :(.. But hopefully it has helped some sort of progress along whether you notice it now or not.. As for the oil.. EWWW LOL I think Ill hold out on that one.. Have you tryed going for a long walk or raspberry leaf tea? They are supposed to be good for the go :) GOOD LUCK :)
LABOR VIBES TO POPPY AND GRNSLW
Well Im feeling a little 3rd trimester now even tho Im still only 2nd.. I can feel bubs out both sides of my stomach when s/he stretches and starting to feel very heavy.. ALL the loverly late symptoms are kicking in.. Leg cramps, hot flushes, vivid scary dreams, insomnia, braxton hicks etc etc etc.. The list goes on.. I even got some really bad heartburn yesterday when I ate a chicken and mayonnaise sandwich too fast.. So it looks like its going to be a long 15 weeks... :wall:
I'm still looking really small for dates.. The midwives are looking to send me for another scan if my size hasn't caught up by 28 weeks. Did anyone else have size problems on the lower scale of things? Or have really scary awful dreams and insomnia? Ive lost so much sleep the last to nights its getting a bit ridiculous.

Wantbaby: Just wanted to suggest a few things. Often symptoms ease a bit around 10-12 weeeks, when your placenta takes over. It's a good thing but sooo frustrating having to wait until movement starts to get any sense of relief. Sending you . The pains you're feeling are probably round ligament pains, just the ligaments softening. I had the same, whenever I sneezed, coughed or got up too quickly.
As for the doppler, I bought one at 18 weeks after a scare. What a waste of money, it was only $49.95 but still that's money I could've put elsewhere. It didn't say anything on the outside of the box but once you read the instructions they say that it doesn't really work til around 25-28 weeks! (Would've been nice to advertise on the box so I could at least have waited!) Even now, I'm just 28 weeks and it still is not really clear, although I can hear my own heartbeat perfectly! What I did find it good for though is in the first few weeks when you only get the odd tiny little kick that you really don't feel all that well, you can hear the kicks a little better. The other thing is to remember, if you get one, and don't hear the heartbeat straight away it tends to make you worry even more.
Saph: Wow 7pd6 already? All I can say is OOCHIE MAHOOCHIE!!!!!
Poppy, Grnslw & mithy: The race is on girls! Sending you all smooth labour vibes!
AFM: VERY excited to be 28 weeks, feels soooo good to be able to say 7 motnhs preggas, for some reason I've always wanted to be able to do that! So the countdown has begun. Can't remember if I said before but my labour bag is packed and my hossy back 3/4 packed and my parents are coming up later this week to help me start moving furniture around and start painting and setting up the nursery. It's good, it feels like I'm finally starting to achieve something. Off to the Ob again today, unfortunately the Ob is away so I have to see that horrid midwife again. Also having the glucose challenge test today too.
Hope you all have a fantastic day! :bellyrubs:

London Miss,Kyra wolfe,Boc~~
Thank you for your replies ladies.Thats makes me feel a bit better.I am already showing due to a very stretched tummy from my sons birth. That reassures me and i think i can feel my uterus now just above my pubic bone. I did some reading about the dopplers and most people say that it can cause more concern if you dont hear anything, due to either the position of bub or misuse of the doppler.I think i will just give it a miss.I remember feeling Connor's first kick when i was 16 or 18 weeks.(it was one or the other) and have read that you feel it earlier in second pregnancies so hopefully if all goes well next week,it shouldnt be too long before i start feeling bub move. That will be much more relaxing.
I tend to end up a nervous wreck in between scans.:(
Tried on some dresses from my wardrobe this morning to wear to my nans 80th in week and a half time and NOTHING fit.My stomach is too big for my dresses.I was very pleased that nothing fit...how funny is that? LOL I love seeing my bump.
Anyhow im so glad thaat you have helped ease some stress.Thankyou so much.xxx
-
poppyfairy  oh I feel every bit of your frustration. But DH is right it will happen it's just the when.
Saph how did hosp tour go. I loved mine but I bet I forget it all when i'm in labor. Hope you're ok with you very healthy weighing bubba. I think bigger babies always look cuter (i know that is no help for a mum delivering) but they do.
Ella'smum sorry dtd didn't go well. hope last night was betta :D
Wantbaby yes yes yes, lots of pain in 1st tri in my belly and down my legs mainly my right one. hope 1 weeks flies hun.
Hi LondonMiss hope all's well
Hi Smithy & Kyrawolfe thanks for the labor vibes (hope it works)
Boc my money is on smithy first ;) and congrats on 28 weeks well done.
ATM went shopping today and it was awful. I love to shop but I'm such a slow poke at the moment it's not fun, Baught a 5th b'day pressie for my god son and a new top for post baby me. (70% off). Mum came over and took me which was nice, she's a bit of a home body but i'm trying to get her to visit more in prep for new arrival and NOT going out as much.
Been feeling really saw in the belly again, I wonder if it's the physio? I went yesterday cos my butt was so sore again and last night my belly mainly the lower bit hurts to move, to lie to sit to do anything. Oh well not long now.
I have been told so many times "rest now" before bubs I think I'll rest better when I have my body back! But it really isn't long now. The last day bubs will be here is the 1/2 so I guess it's not that long. Oh cooler day today :leap: so I feel like I'm human again not one of those green slimy things you can buy in a can. (not that I'm green but I did feel like goo)
-
Ha ha goo describes it perfectly! That's just how I felt! It's raining here now and I don't think I've ever been so pleased to be a bit nippy!
I'm most irritated with my little giraffe, who seems most reluctant to move away from the 12 week tree and into the sparse unknown of week 18!! Move up little giraffe!
We're off to Adelaide/ Kangaroo Island for 4 days tomorrow which I can't wait for. DH has just announced that he's getting a blackberry. He's already working 10 hours a day and then on the phone to the UK all evening! Just what we need - more ways for work to find him! Anyway, we're away in a lovely hotel with no dog, and I'm taking my best new belly covering nightie, so maybe we'll DTD :shhh:
-
Robin Patrick arrived in a great rush Sunday 10th January 2010. Exactly 7 pounds (3180g)
Still in shock over labour....quick summary.....Vaginal delivery after 20 mins pushing....I was in the hospital having contractions for about 5 hours beforehand but have no idea how long I was in labour for because according to the official guidelines of dilation etc I never reached 'established labour'. So officially it was a 0 minute labour LOL! (wasn't laughing though when the midwife kept on telling me my 4 in ten minute, over a minute long, strong contractions were not proper labour yet and therefore she wouldn't let me have gas and air or get into the birthing pool yet) So I did it all on two paracetamol!!!
More details later as I am off to sleep while DH cuddles bubs. Cannot believe he is here at last. I am loving cuddles and his little face!!!
-
Oh my goodness - congratulations! That's wonderful news although I'm very confused about how you managed that with no official labour!!! Well done you! Post some pics up soon once you are recovered x:leap::leap::leap:
ps did the army have to come and get you or did you get to the hospital ok??
-
CONGRATULATIONS Poppyfairy!!!! Wow that sounds amazing, can't wait to hear more details and see pics.
Who is next? Greenslw? Ellasmum? Good luck girls
xx

Congratulations Poppyfairy on the safe and fast arrival of Robin. What a gorgeous name. I hope you enjoy your babymoon all 3 of you & look forward to photos.
Greenslw cheering you on as it seems you may be next!
Londonmiss, enjoy your mini break and GL with that nighty ;) Kangaroo Is is supposed to be beautiful, lucky you. Any chance you can loose DH's phone while on holiday???
BOC happy 28 weeks and nesting sounds fun. Also welcome to 3rd trimester!
Wantbaby2 so glad you are enjoying your growing bump.
Saph that is a big bub you have there. If it helps you my sister's SIL delivered a 10lber & a 12lber in her 40s all au natural.
Hello everyone else I have missed
AFU we have our 12 week NT scan tomorrow and I can't wait to see Phoenix again . A question did anyone NOT have a scan between 12 & 20 weeks and still cope ok? Something that I am considering but its more likely I will decrease scans from 20weeks on if I decide on going through the birth centre rather than OB.
xx
-
CONGRATULATIONS POPPYFAIRY!!! :dance::clap::D

-
Poppyfairy congrats on you birth. Boys are very special and love mummy cuddles.
Well off to the ob today, If it looks like this baby is going to be as big as Campbell I am going to ask for a CS. Not for me but for baby. Campbell got very stuck and didnt breath and ended up in ICU because of how big he was I am not going to do that to another child if I can help it. We will see what happens today. Well need to go get ready I am going to the Casino for lunch today with all the girls from work. Yeah a bit of me time.
-
Hi Dusty,
I only had a very very quick scan at my OBs between 12 and 20 weeks, sort of, ok, there is one, there is the heart beat, there is the other, there is the heart beat, that is all, otherwise it was the official 12 week NT and then the 20 week morphology. I did find it very hard to wait between the official scans, 8 weeks is a long time, and did/do find myself worrying. I am counting down days until my next official next Tue, as am dying to know what size they are and that growth is on track, I guess the worry just doesn't go away. Hope you are keeping well, GL for tomorrow. Make sure you look out for the nubby if you want to try to guess gender
Smithy, OMG, so excited for you too!
Saph, GL with your OB appointment and hope you can book your C section in.
Hi to everyone else, I am tracking along, very excited am 34 weeks today, now I can have the bubs on the Gold Coast and not be shipped up to Brisbane. I guess is just a matter of time for me too, just trying to hang on as long as I can now, I have 36 weeks as a goal in my mind. Still hoping they will flip so I can do a VB, but I have a feeling my OB will be talking C section next week, I will be asking for a date at 38 weeks hoping at least I can go into labour naturally before that, and also give the girls as much time as I can in case they do flip.
Belly rubs to everyone xxx

poppy fairy -=- BIG CONGRATS HUN ON THE SAFE AND QUICK ARRIVAL OF ROBIN !!!
:leap: :leap: :leap:
0 hour labour huh... hmm. what exactly happened there??? cant wait to hear more and see some cluck inducing pics :p
Dusty -=- Good luck with your 12 week scan tomorow! Hope everything goes well and you get a good look at lil phoenix! I only had the standard 12 week and 19 week scans after I got the all clear from the EPU ( I had a few scans between 5 and 11 weeks to clear for misscarriage as i had a few bleeds..) Dunno If that helps in any way.. Ive always gone through the public system in hospitals so I dont know too much about birthing centres and how they go about it all.. tho they sound good!
Smithy -=- 29th of jan isnt too far away at least! Sounds like ur having a terrible time with all the sickness.... How about I send you some general health vibes along with the labour ones!
saph -=- sounds stressfull hun  just do whatever you think is best :) good to hear your getting a bit of you time today! I had my child free tuesday yesterday and spent it over at my gfs catching up with her and our other two gf's that were heading over too NZ for the next 3 weeks! So we made the most of it :D those 3 are a crackup when we all get together!
Hey baby dreamtime! Woot for 34 weeks! thats doing realy well for twins! GL for the next few weeks hope everything works out for you!
..trying to get my lil one too nap. It sounds funny that I still try to get him to nap seeing as he's turning 3 next week.. But when I dont he falls asleep at 5 or 6 then skips his dinner and shower to sleep through the night. Its a bit of a struggle seeing as he loves to fight off the drowsy eyes and keep playing, but If I can get him there it will all be worth it!!! Its really hot today and the comp room is the only one with air con.. Ill probably be sneaking in here once he does go to sleep so I can feel a lil less sweat monster myself! Had a wonderfull cuddle from DH today before he left.. Hes being really sweet, after trying and failing to get a cuddle and kiss from our indepandant thinking lil toddler (hehe) he came over to my belly leant down and gave jelly bean a big snuggle and goodbye as well.. and told him/her he was proud of how strong s/hes been and that he cant wait to meet him/her. :heartbeat:
-
:bluecheer: Congrats poppy on the safe arrival of Robin. I can't believe that u had what they class as no established labour. Well done. Enjoy spending the time with your little man.
Smithy not long to go now n I hope u feel better soon.
Ella's mum, green & smithy sending lots of labour vibes your ways as u all race to the o
line. Good luck xx
Sorry I have not been on for a while well I have been reading the posts but haven't had the time to respond. I can't believe my little man is already 4wks old the time has flown. He is growing and changing everyday. I am enjoying motherhood even with all the challenges.
Hope everyone is enjoying their pregnancies. :bellyrubs: to all
-
CONGRATULATIONS Poppy on the safe arrival of little Robin!
:hooray: :leap: :loveshower:
Smithy you poor thing! Hope it's only a short wait for you now.
Sending labour vibes to ellasmum & greenie too.
BDT: :crossfingers: you make your 36 weeks and VB!
Saph: good luck with the sizing!
Dusty: I had the 12wk scan, but made it very clear I wasn't interested in taking it further if anything came back. They pretty much knew I was only doing it to see Cookie. But then again I'm going private so I guess as long as I'm paying the $$$ they'll do what I like.
:hello: to everyone else!
AFM, having an interesting day. Today is my due date for the angel bub I lost back in my first round. I fully expected to be a wreck today but surprisinigly I'm ok. I guess I've had long enough to prepare for it. We will probably just light some candles and have some quiet time when DH gets home.
Appointment went well yesterday. I think the Ob must have said something to the midwife cause she was ever so nice, even asked how my back was going. A couple of things have come out of the visit, firstly Cookie is definitely breech. No surprise there I have suspected it for a while now and I was a breech myself. So the plan of action is to monitor position at every visit and then at 36 weeks if he/she hasn't turned the call will be made to "exit via the sunroof" (as someone so cleverly put it before). Again, surprising myself, thought I'd be upset at the prospect of a C-sect but am surprisingly chilled. And now just got a call to say my diabetes test has come back high so have to go back for more, this time the full GTT. Ho hum, ahhh the joys!
Had a really amazing moment the other night, had been sneezing all day and suddenly sneezed again, put my hand on my belly and I could feel the head! Clear as anything, the little round hard head-shaped lump in my hand, in the middle just up under my stomack! I almost cried! Those awesome moments are what it's all about! Funny though, I was determined to get DH to feel it too so every time I had to sneeze I would go running to him, grab his hand and put it on my belly then procedd to spray all over him  He wasn't impressed! But hey, I said "honey in a few short weeks your gonna have more than my sneezes all over you" lol.
Obviously not meant to be napping today, tried to lay down for a nap 3 times now and every time someone either calls or comes to the door
Hope everyone's coping well in the heat, our Southerly has just come through o thank goodness it's cooling down a little!
Have a good evening!
-
Poppyfairy Congratulations :leap: Guess I lost my money ;)
BabyDreamtime Me PLEASE  Glad you made your mile stone, much easier to have bubba close to home.
Goodluck with Scan tomorrow Dusty are you going to find out phoenix blue pink?
Smithy so it's pre 29 or out comes Charlie how exciting :D
Saph good to make a decion that works for you and bubba.
Boc  for you and angel baby it's so hard, but being pg really helped me through. So nice you can feel your bubs head :D
ATM not coping at all! I lost it at the kitchen bench after dropping DSS of to work, I can't drive, I can't sit, I can't lie down. My belly is so sore, it feels bruised and what's worse I can't find anything on the net that sounds anything like what I feel.
OB tomorrow and bubs is still very active so I'm not phoning the hospital who will probably ask me if I'm in labor when I say NO they'll say just REST!
WELL (big sigh) I have been, I gave up work, have done sweet FA for a week now and it's getting worse!
The pain is mainly on my left side around belly button height and lower, when I get up I feel like my muscles have shrunk and it takes me half a dozen steps to straighten up.
I've also had BH but that is totally different. My OB siad it'd go away if I stopped work SHE LIED! I don't want to rush Squeak but I can't do another 2-3 weeks of this!
-
Oh green I so feel for you, my BH are very intense and they always come when I want to rest.
Got to do the AFM bit now, My incution date of the 4/2 has been cancelled. With all the problems Campbell had because he got stuck I have now been booked for a C section on the 8/2 feeling ok about this as DH and I discussed the possiblity last night and decided that is this baby looked like being as big as Campbell we were not willing to subject him to that trauma. OB was very positive about it all and reasured me that I would be ok. I was a bit peaved when she said why didnt you tell me Campbells shoulder got stuck, I felt like yelling at her I have told you a thousand times and specifically said I didn't want a repeat.
BOC you still have time for bubs to turn, a friends bub was breach the week before she had him and he turned that was at 36 weeks.
Kyra- My Campbell is 3 and has a rest time now not sleep. He lies in my bed with a movie or cartoons and has a rest for an hour. Sometimes he falls asleep but if he does he wont go to sleep until really late so we prefer him not to sleep.
Green - always thinking of you hope you get your VB. I have already had one and it was hell on earth, my ob said the C section will be a breeze.
Oh I had to laugh my OB said that if I have a C section All future babies will need to be delivered by C section. After this hell on earth pregnancy THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER PREGNANCY.
-
Hey girls, remember me?
I feel like a bit of an intruder but just wanted to say a huge congrats to PoppyFairy. What an amazing birth story yours will be. Congratulations on welcoming your gorgeous boy. Can't wait to see your rugged up photos (the polar opposite of mine now in the tropics):bluecheer::bluecheer: Hope we see you in the thread next door.
BTW Smithy I have posted a link for you again (cos you keep flattering me lol). It's mostly a folder for the family and not really sorted through but of course it's riddled with Jazzy updates. Thinking of you and hope you are not sick til the very end.
All of you other lovely girls, I'm not really up to date (just had a week in Townsville) but I hope you are all well and cooking away nicely.:hug: for all the pain you are going through Saph and Greenslw and hello to everyone else. xoxo

Hope this works! We are having all sorts of trouble uploading pics on our computer so there are not many. Just when we actually have something interesting to share (well we certainly think so!!!) :wall: Pics of Robin Fiona Shukie's Photos - Robin Patrick Shukie | Facebook
Labour vibes to Green and Smithy! Those low pains sound promising Green. I had a constant dull ache low in my belly like a period pain for about three days before.
Wantbaby- sounds like the placenta taking over
Sorry my baby brain (I cannot think of much beyond remembering which boob was the last one fed from and where the nearest muslin square is at the moment!!) means that is all I remember from what I have read. But belly rubs to everyone!
-
Poppyfairy. Robin is one little cutie. Congratulations I hope u are enjoying the first few days of motherhood xx
:bellyrubs: to everyone.
-
Congratulations PoppyFairy Robin is GORGEOUS.... And what an amazing Birth Story...
So the race is definately on now girls, Me, Green, Smithy and BDT (I have a feeling your going to be up there in the mix too).
Hope your aches and pains start to dull a bit Green doesn't sound like your having a good time of it at all.
AFM 39 weeks today and have been having that period type pain as well as back and thigh pain since Saturday... Everyday I wake up thinking is Today THE day? but no it never is, I was so convinced this baby was going to come early, seems I was wrong!
To make things worse, my OB that I chose to travel 40 mins for is going on holidays for 2 weeks at the end of this week Arrrrggghhhh, had I known that was going to happen I would have gone local! Theonly good thing about going overdue will be that he'll be back to induce me, always a silver lining I guess!
Hope everyone is doing well and thinking positive, better go, maybe today is the day, I assure you it won't be!
-

Welcome Robin Patrick.. Congratulations Poppyfairy... :happyforyou::happyforyou:
He's gorgeous... (for a little laugh.. I'm glad I previewed this before posting cause I had called you Poopyfairy which you may be by now ..lol...)
Greenslw - I hope that this pain your having doesn't hang around or that you go into labour sooner rather than later.. Good luck
Smithy - Not long now Hun... A little Aquarian.. how cute.. My Mum and sister are both Aquarians..
BDT - I'm so thrilled that you have made it to 34 weeks and that you can have your Bubs on The Coast.. Now i'm hoping that the first bub goes head down again.. I have heard that playing music down low can help them to turn as they try to hear the music and also you can put a cold pack near where you think there head is so they move away from it... Check out Spinning babies website.. They have some good info.. I think that the fact that she was head down before is a good sign that at least she can manage head down... How are you looking for Yoga this Saturday.. Giving it a miss? Talk to you soon..
To everyone else I hope you are all cooking nicely.. I read how you all are but am really cr@p at posting.. Thinking of each and evey one of you...
AFM - Most people think I'm huge and that I won't make my due date.. I love it.. My cousin who is due 10 days after me and has a bit of a bump thinks I look juicy.. lol... I have been pretty sad and a little lost lately as my fIL passed away with my DH and I holding his hand after a 4 month battle with cancer on the 3rd of January... My baby would've been his first Grandchild... He was so excited and tried so hard to hold on but just couldn't... It will be a bittersweet day for DH when Lil Kracker is born...
Take care ladies.. I will stalk away...

CONGRATULATIONS Poppyfairy!!! He looks just gorgeous, and i'm glad that you and DH can enjoy your babymoon with the three of you for a little longer before your dad comes to stay.
No persies today, but I do want to say lilmisshavachat, i'm so sorry to read about your FIL. I hope you and DH are looking after yourselves
I've been a bit down myself lately - my grandfather passed away last week - he had pneumonia a month before Christmas, and they discovered cancer throughout his body. He went back into hospital on Christmas day and then last week when we thought he was doing well he went rapidly downhill. But he had 4 of his 5 children at his side, and a number of us grandchildren (including myself) in the hospital room too so at least he was surrounded by love, and is now with my grandmother. But it's such an emotionally draining time and when I came back to work on Tuesday I found out a good friend has breast cancer and was having a double mastectomy that day (she hadn't told anyone before cos she didn't want to worry any one!!). Needless to say I went straight back home.
And then just because i'm a goose I woke up this morning convinced there was something wrong with the Chicklet (i've been waking up in a panic in the middle of the night feeling like i'd stopped breathing, and when I weighed myself this morning i've only put on 1kg so far...) so rang my OB and am just back from seeing a midwife. Glad to report all is well and although I felt like a goose i'm glad I went. On a positive note, I had to buy mat clothes last week cos mine are getting way too tight and uncomfortable!!
So Dusty - my advice to you is that if you can then make an appointment with your OB for about 16 weeks cos it's waaaaaaaaaaay too long between the 12 and 20 week visits.
Anyway, to all those ladies who are nearing the end of pregnancy - sending labour vibes your way and hoping this little creature finds you very very soon :stork-boy::stork-girl:
To everyone else, hope you're all well. I'm sorry for the lack of persies - I was doing so well with staying up to date, and as per usual, although I haven't posted over the last week i've been reading about what you're all up to.

poppyfairy -=- Robin Patrick is beautiful! Seeing all these new babies all you girls have been having has gotten me so impatient to get through the next 15 weeks! They are all just so gorgeous!
Cant write a book today.. DS is waiting for me to come and play trucks :p ahh the duties of mummyhood ;)
Me and DH were talking yesterday.. And hes agreed to help me save up to finally apply for TAFE next yr and start off on a veterinary nursing cert to boost me up to a vet course in uni! After my 2010 break to stay at home with DS and Jelly bean of course.. So that was another lil thing to look forward to :D Im going to start gathering all the info I need about how to go about it over the next yr so I can jump in the deep end in 2011!
Anyway must go.. Hope you are all feeling well today, and grnslw, Im Hopeing today is your day!

Kyra that is fantastic that you are going back to study. It is really important to have something that is solely yours outside of the children. TO have your own identity other than such and suches mum.

Thank you saph
I spoke to a careers counsellor today and worked out a gameplan.. Ive had a rocky start to education so its a long road ahead.. But there IS a road :) Ive decided while on my year off Im going to individually try to do a bit of self study and practise on maths and sciences so I can get myself a head boost and be ready for some of the things ill be takeing on. Its all a little scary and I have some feelings of self doubt because I was never the best maths student, not even in the easier maths subjects..and part of what ill be needing to study is maths B.. But Im puting that down to slacking off and going through some things back in high school that im not going to have a problem with now, especially with a set goal in mind.
Sorry to rant.. wish me luck anyway! Hope everyone is feeling ok :)

Well i am awaiting the call. My SIL was induced on Sunday and after what seems like cr@p service from a public hospital they finally broke her waters this morning. I cant wait for little snuggles.

KellyD, that's crazy!! How on earth do you girls carry anything that big? I think my full term size was you at 20 weeks or at least 28 weeks, and BOC was my full size at about 8 weeks  I still keep thinking of Neptune's little boy born at 4.5 kilos and when I see how much Jazz has grown to be now 4 kilos, I realise how little she was. Thanks for the photos, it was fun to compare.
Smithy...awww, you know you are the most loved girl in this forum, we are always thinking of you cos you always think of us. I took that photo just for you too
Not too much time for persies but just wanted to say I'm sorry to Lise for the loss of your grandfather and Littlemiss for the loss of DH's dad. I'm sure it's a bitter sweet time but you will get through it and those babies at the end will help to heal the pain.
Also just quickly to Kyrawolf, it's exciting gettting a gameplan together like you are. Congrats and good luck with that. Just on the point you made about not being the best at maths at school, you wipe the slate clean when you go back to study as a mature student. My DH never even passed year eleven, joined the Army at 17 with no schooling to speak of and later went on to have a whole second career - excelling at tafe, then teaching at tafe, then excelling at uni, then teaching at uni and now in two weeks will have finished his Doctorate and be a fully fledged research ecologist. You go girl, you can do anything !
Poppyfairy, what a cute little mate. Your life is going to be just wonderful and you will be a fantastic Mum.xox
