Morning Ladies
My straight jactket is also my most favourite piece of Maternity wear :cryinglaugh: Tiff and I had matching sparkely ones made for our journey i beleive there is also matching theatre caps and shoe covers for the delivery ;)
Sheree ~ i don't think i have congratulated you Yet... SO A Huge Congratulations i am sooo happy for you \:D/
-
Hello all!
Sheree, yay on the new ticker! I'm so glad you deicded to put one up. Good to be confident and positive, I think. There's so much neurosis in this thread as it is. I am only just thinking of packing my own straight jacket away now!
Also good to see people coming over from the LT threads. I know Trish and humph were worried that they were going to be the only ones left in here after April. Let's hope it continues and more LTers come over! Tonnes and tonnes, please!
Well, ob appt for me this arvo. Am thinking of asking for another u/s to size the little'un. Dr reckoned at my last appt I was still measuring 3-4 weeks ahead, so I reckon if he doesn't suggest it, I could easily sway him. But DH doesn't want us to do another one, he reckons better leave well enough alone if things are going smoothly. Will see how I feel when I get there this arvo.
Sigh, better get to work I guess. Only 10 days to go before I finish. But who's counting?

Like the new tickers Skye & Majic. Yep, as the others have said, we do tend to freak out/worry in here especially in the 1st tri, then b4 every scan/test/obgyn visit, etc... it's only normal :-)
Sush, me too, my aptmt is for 4pm, but prob won't get in til 5pm, u all know how 'tis. I was measuring 3.5wks ahead in fundal height too, but he said bub didnt feel that big though, i dunno. Can they tell by pushin on ur belly which way bub's is (eg: breach)? I've already had 5 scans & 2 quick ones, so I'm not game to ask for any :-). If 'tis a boy, then looks like we'll be exchanging lots of girly clothes. :-)
-
Shell, mine is at 3.45pm, and I'm leaving work at 2.45pm. Heehee.
Dr jokingly said at my last appt that bub is 'huuuge' and that my fundal height was 'far advanced', but I didn't ask what that meant. I think my brain turns to mush when I go in for my appts and I forget all the things I was meant to ask! Lol!
But am taking a list in with me today, with things such as "what position is baby in?", "what is my fundal height?", "what were my BT results for aneamia?" etc. Had very low iron levels with all my three kids, so that's a concern this time too. Except I expect that if the levels were really worrying, I would have received a phone call.
Also bringing in my birth plan to discuss with him. It's nothing fancy, the main points being that I wanted DH to cut the cord, that I wanted to hold off measuring and testing of bubs until after I'd had a cuddle and that I didn't want my family just turning up at the labour ward wanting to see me while I was trying to give birth! Lol!
Good luck shell for your ob appt, my sweet! Lol about exchanging the baby clothes! Mine are all cream or yellow!
Hopefully bub is in the right possie and all settled for you!

Obgyn was 1.5hrs late as he had 2 babies to deliver this afternoon, he apoligised for being late & said thanks for being patient, what a sweetie. Fundal=30wks, bub head down & feels normal sized still, still plenty of room for somersaults. Everything normal, except I have Bstrep, so just means I (& therefore baby) have antibiotics in a drip during birth.
Sush, I have a list of questions for him every wk, coz 1st wk I didn't & forgot what to ask.. :-) But haven't mentioned anything about a birth plan yet, good thinkin. Hope urs went well. I was meant to leave work at 3pm (1hr to obgyn) but they said 30mins late, so left at 3:30pm, not quite as mush as an early mark as u got though... :-)
-
Hey Shell,
hope your appt went well! Mine was boring, just as I like it. Bub is still big, but we talked at length about labour and me wanting to try naturally, and he was happy to let me choose how I wanted to go. He said he won't talk induction, was happy to let me go spontaneously, had faith that as a woman who had 3 natural labours and delivered all three vaginally, that I was the best judge of how to have this baby, big or not. He said that he'd keep intervention to a minimum, and if things got 'out of hand', he would discuss everything with us to make an informed decision. I just love the man!
He also said that my blood results were very good, iron levels normal, platelet count was good and bub is head down. I see him in 3 weeks and then it's fortnightly visits for 4 weeks then weekly (eek!)
I also discussed my birth plan with him, and he said he was happy for it to be 'anything goes'. I can walk around, get in the bath, whatever I wanted. But he joked that at 45, his knees ain't so good, so while he will deliver the bub any way I wanted, to please not rip his head off if he tries to get me onto a bed in the second stage!
I asked if he would send me for more u/s and he said only if he thought something was wrong, but he would if I really wanted. Would you believe this was when DH decided to pipe in and say 'no, it's okay, we don't need one!'
Lol!

Great news Sush, yep mine went well, I posted just prior to u... :-)
Mel, you must be at fortnightly visits too, how r urs goin?

D'uh, shell, I didn't even see it? Not so quick off the mark lately, this girl!

Trish - great to hear that your nausea is easing.
Shazz - thanks for the welcome.
And of course thanks to everybody else for your welcomes too.
Shell- congrats on everything being normal.
Sushee- it is great to hear that your dr is listening to you and supporting you in your decisions.
Me==> my beta came back at 24dpo 6872 (P4 90 which is great that it's gone back up). So everything is excellent. I have such a great feeling about this pregnancy. The only thing is there are no more bts, and my next appt is a scan (woohoo) but in TWO WEEKS time - how am I going to last. I figure that seeing the heartbeat will make this pregnancy more real. I'm still in surreal land.
Birth for me, will be an elective c/s.
-
Sheree, it was the longest week of my pg, waiting for that first scan! Let alone two weeks! But like you, I have a very good feeling about your pg and reckon it'll be worth the wait to see that little flicker of a hb!

Im back from my Sydney holiday with some exciting news!
Im def pregnant, 5w1d today! Had a b/t wednesday last week and it came back + with a hCG of 240 at 13dpo! Had an u/s yesterday and everything looks as it should for 5wks, but they think its twins! There is evidence of a second sac, so now its just a waiting game until we can find a heartbeat or two! It would explain the high hCG b/t and the all day and night sickness Ive been having for the past 2 weeks
Congrats to Sheree on being pregnant!! Wow Im so excited for you!!
-
Congratulations Anna, wow Twins. Best of luck next week.
-
Sheree - it is a long wait to that heartbeat scan - thinking of you - Gosh I was exactly the same. A GP will always do another HCG and progesterone - they can bulk bill ;) - I had a few initially.
Goodluck Anna - it is scary and exciting considering two . Your HCG's are high.
I have 5 weeks(or less now) till my 18wk6 day scan - March 6th but will hear heartbeats at Prof on 15th Feb. He didn't use doppler last time said not always heard @ 13wks and I'd just the scan a week before. I want this month to fly
Sushee - your DR sounds a gem - but you have the experience so dig those heels in and grit those teeth. Gee I can't believe how close you Mel,and Shell are now. How exciting in end of March to mid April going to be !
-
Hi there!
Sorry I haven't been on for a while, I've been flat out rewriting my research proposal in time for 1st semester. Pain in the butt....
Anyways, everything's going along okay so far (touch wood). Had my first OB appointment last night. Was pretty straightforward. Not really what I was expecting - no prodding, no needles or peeing in cups. Is this normal?
Congratulations to Magic, Skye & Anna!!! Good to have you over here. Hope everything's going along smoothly. And best of luck for your first u/s.
Trish - I bought that book - had slight panic attacks after reading it, felt a bit overwhelmed at the thought of raising 2 kids at the same time!
Okay now though ;)
Hope everyone else is doing okay!
Cheers,
Didge

I have just spent about 15 hours of the last 24 in the Emergency Room :(
Yesterday evening I had a really really bad abdominal pain that lasted for over an hour so I went to the ER and they first thought I had an ectopic (even though I had u/s to prove bub was in the right place). Turns out I had a cyst on my right ovary rupture, boy are they painful! Got home around midnight with the a-ok that bubs was fine.
Woke up this morning to mild bleeding, not spotting but not clotting, so of I run to the ER again. They had to do 3 u/s before they found bub, still snuggled tightly downstairs thank god and grown bigger since yesterday! No idea where the bleeding is coming from and it seems to have died down now. I was so scared the bleeding was like a light period, I thought we were m/c again!
Honestly I dont think any of my pregnancies will ever be normal and easy
Hope everyone else is having a great weekend!
ETA - had a bhCG done last night and my levels have gone from 240 @ 13dpo last wednesday to 10,296 @ 5w1d \:D/ They were only 3,450 at 5w last pregnancy! Def could be a chance of twins :twingirl:
-
OMGoodness Anna :o What a horrible 24 hrs you have had!
I really hope you have a better night tonight, rest up & look after yourself.
Fingers crossed the bleeding stays away :crossfingers:
Hi Didge! Thanks for the welcome, so happy to be here :cheer:
Hope those lil twinnies of yours are behaving ;)
Trish I am thinking of going to my GP for another hcg  I just want to know that everything is ok. Thursday will not come around quick enough.
My DD's heartbeat was picked up at 6w 2d, on Thursday I will be 5w 5d...does anyone know if the heartbeat will be detected?
Woo hoo on the beta Sheree! That is fantastic. This next 2 weeks is going to be soo long ](*,) mine has been & it has been horrible! I hope the time flies for you!!
Sush & Shell, good news at your appt's. Don't you hate when they run late  my Dr was the worst for being on time. Poor guy he was yawning his head off at 4am when delivering my DD.
-
Skye at 5w6d we only had one heartbeat and at astart guy said was doubtful if we would see even one.At end he told us to come back in a week. It was stressful waiting -knowing we had two sacs but only one heartbeat.
I would wait if I was you till at least over 6w2d
Anna -thinking of you - it is so difficult - I had brown spotting at 5w6d that is why I had that first scan above. The spotting/brown stained CM continued until last week.
-
Hi Ladies, well just like DD I've got spotting this time too. Freakie really, DH saids "...hey it happened last time you know that it will be OK..." hhhmmmmmmm nice one!
Anyway I still went away for the weekend, Margaret River. I will call the dr today and ask him what he thinks.
-
Sheree,
hoping it's nothing and it'll stop and allow you to relax. I had a few brown spots yesterday arvo after going to a long walk at the shops so am assuming it's my body's way of telling me to take it easier. Only 8 days of work left (RDO on Wed) so will be a lady of leisure soon! Same for shell and Mel too! :cheer:
Anna, wow on your HCG levels! Heehee this PGALTTTC thread has the best ratio of twins to singletons! Lol! Hoping your hb scan shows you both hbs and you can rest easy after.
Amy, Amy, where are you?
Well, the nursery gets put together in 2 weeks time, so I'll hopefully have some new piccies for my site in a month or so. Nesting is starting with a vengeance (did I mention I vacummed and mopped the whole house yesterday also?) but DH has now banned me from housework until I go on leave at least. I think he knows he wouldn't be able to stop me completely! Lol!
I hope everyone is well and settled.
-
Sheree, can't wait for ur u/sound, I agree with u & Sush, this is it.
AnnaT, fantastic news, congrats. Wow, more twinnies.
Oh Anna, sorry to hear bout ur cyst & the scare, it's so frightening. Great to c those beta's are doin fine & the u/s showed bubs.
I had a similar scare at 6wks (well spotted from 6-11wks) & Shazz did too. Bub's hbeat had only started a few days ago, they say around 5wk4d. It could only be detected with dildo cam, not normal u/s & even then still early for some. My beta's (hcg=26054) are in my www - milestones. I was only in 9/24hrs, then had to pack & catch a plane the next morning... :-)
Also, my sis had a scare with her 2nd at same time as she'd m/c 1st, but all was absolutely fine & normal. It's just not fair that our bodies play these tricks on us though.
Hope the 1st tri just fly's by. Same goes for all u other ladies... :-)
It's great to see ladies coming in here 2-3 at a time, excellent. And all these scans coming up, yay.
Wow Sush, that isn't long at all.
Hmm, so when does Amy watch start? :-)
-
after noon ladies
Anna ~ as Shell said i too had spotting from 5 weeks and my last scare was only 2 weeks ago apparently i am just going to have to put up with it as they think that it is just a normal part of THIS pregnancy i have had 9 scans all up so far and they have never been able to find a reason why i had no trouble whats so ever with my first 2 pregnancy's
well i just received a phone call from the pathology lab they stuffed up one of my tests so now i have to go get jabbed again thankfully it wasn't the GD test cause there is no way i was drinking that gunk again it made me so so ill  can't wait to get those results back !!!!!!
-
Anna - sorry to hear that you had a rough w/e, good to hear that bubs is still on board. I bet you can't wait to see the two heartbeats.
Spotting in early pg is fairly common unfortunately. And unfortunately with Nicola I did every day - so the ob just told me to relax and take it easy. The scan is still on for the 17th!
Sushee- aahhhh nesting, gotta luv it - drives the dh's mad though.
Trish - what a b*gger to have to do it again, when they stuffed up!!!
Skye- I'm jealous you have your scan so soon. Apparently mine is so far away so that the ob can give me better EDD!
-
Hi Girls,
Anna - hope everything has settled down since last you posted. Hang in there.
Sush - yay for only 8 days of work!! Yes, you're right, Shell and I aren't far behind you. Know what you mean about the cleaning too - I just can't stop.
Shell - Yep, I'm up to fortnightly visits (in fact I have one today). It's getting closer for us now.
Skye and Didge - hope you are doing okay. Didge, I can't remember the last time I peed in a cup so am thinking your ob experience sounds fairly normal!
Trish - fingers crossed for a quick flying month for you until your next scan. It's my birthday that day but I hope all the presents will be coming your way!
Amy - Just pulling up my deckchair and getting comfortable here, ready for AmyWatch ... hope everything is going well at your end.
Second antenatal class last night. One thing I've noticed is that some of the men talk more than the women and they seem to have formed some interesting ideas about labour and childcare. Also there is one girl there who has only gained five kilos during her pregnancy and she doesn't mind letting you know about it. Hope she doesn't disappear up her own arse when she starts breastfeeding.
Only one more day until I find out whether I have secured my promotion. It's been a long haul and one massive recruitment exercise for the department. Fingers crossed.
Hope you are all well and that the new mothers are doing okay.
Love,
Mel
-
Hey Everyone
Yep still in one piece - sorry no exciting early baby news to report!
Mel - Is your bday the 6th March too? That's my bday and my due date too. What can we say except that great things happened on that day... We had our second antenatal class at the weekened, it was all about once the baby is here and what to do so was very interesting. We had a guy come on his own because his wife couldn't come and he took written notes to report back to her. The midwife said that was a first for her!! Good luck for the promotion, how could they possibly not give it to you??
Sush - wow not long till you're on maternity leave, that will be great. Then you can go on secret cleaning binges when DH isn't around. Can't say the nesting urge has really hit me yet, wish it would though as the house really needs a good clean!!
Shell - Well I suppose I could go anytime from now, but would prefer anytime from 37 weeks - that way I can definitely aim for a homebirth. Apparently at 36 weeks it's a bit of a gray area.
Anna - Hope you're ok, would be lovely to have more twins in here - they just about outnumber the singletons!!
Didge - good to see you pop your head in, hope to see more of you in here.
Trish - just under 4 weeks until your scan!!! Am sure you are looking forward to seeing the bubbies again.
It's so cool to see so many newbies in here, more please!!!
-
Hello everyone!
Glad to hear you are back on track Anna =D> Can't wait to hear if there are more twinnies in here.
 I went & had another BETA done with my GP. My level came back at 7986 at 24DPO sp all is well!
LOL @ dildo cam :cryinglaugh: never heard that one before. I have my scan this Thursday.
Hope your appt goes well Mel!
-
Morning ladies
it has been rather quite in here
hope you are all well
again i have had only had 2 hours sleep i don't know how much more i can take before i rip someones head off (DH is first in line - he has a sisnus infection and snored like a chain saw all night long every time i told him to roll over he was going to throw a pillow or 2 at me but he thought better of it the glowing red eyes and the snarling deterred him i think ) so i am going to try and have a little kip soon as bub decides to slow down on the areobic workout so i hope you all have fantastic days another day down and another closer to holding our precious bubba's
-
Skye ~ great results on your beta \:D/
-
thanks Amy -what a great day they picked for me - double birthday for you & Melbo
I can't wait but I have to - your bubba might well be here by then - all seems to be going to plan for your HB.
Shazz - you poor thing -I hope you get a long nap and awake refreshed. I am suffering lack of sleep up late fixing computer problem -courtesy of DS :fuming: and then couldn't sleep.
Excellent -Skye
We are heading off for a short break tomorrow it is our 16th Wedding anniversary on Friday - Nanny is coming to mind DS - who has to go to school (OF course) and look after our business. Nice 'clean' weekend - lots of relaxing and sleeping only LOL - first ever ;).
Sushee- hooray for giving up work - how many days to go ?
-
wow Trish look at that ticker of your's go how are you feeling ???? i still haven't even attempted to lie down yet i was just trying to wash up but bub has decided that he doesn't like being squahed up against the sink and didn't he let me have it
yay at being able to get away for the weekend i hope you have a great time
we are going away for 2 days in 2 weeks for a wedding which i still haven't found anything to wear i may be going in shorts and a polo top yet won't that be a nice look
-
Hey ladies! Everything is fine here. No more bleeding, a few aches here and there which Im sure is ligament stretching etc. I have my first OB apt today, and hopefully an u/s! Im 5w6d today going off Saturdays u/s so hopefully we will see a h/b!
Update when I get back.
-
Hello all!
Posting from home (yay!) as am on a Rostered Day Off. Came home early from work yesterday too as the heat and stuffiness and the lack of sleep was doing me in. Decided wasn't going to play the martyr and called my dad to come pick me up from work. So all in all, only 7 working days left for me!
Shazz, ditto on the aerobics. Bub seems to wait until I'm just about to doze off to play footie in there with my vital organs! But last night I crashed despite the calisthenics. Too tired to care anymore, I think.
Ariani came home last night with a tiny little 0000 t-shirt and overall matching set she'd bought and it made me cry! It's sooo cute, but I don't know if bub will fit in it? She's made me promise to put it in my hosiptal bag as baby's coming home outfit, so hopefully it fits and then it can go straight into bub's memory box right after.
Sheree, I hope the spotting's stopped and all is okay. Anna, glad everything is fine and Skye, good luck for your scan Thurs.
Trish, Mel, Shell, et all, :grouphug: to you all.
love
sushee
-
Houston we have a heartbeat!!!!!
Had our first OB appointment and he was happy to see us pregnant again! Did an u/s with the dildo-cam (ugh I'll be glad when bubs is big enough to see through abdo u/s  ) and we saw a little :hbeat: thumping away :smt055 I tell you ladies Im in love already!!!! Dr says we can shout it from the rooftops now as the risk of m/c is really low!!!
\:D/ OMG we're going to have a baby!!!!!!!!!!
-
-
well done Anna \:D/ i'm very happy for you both
-
Yaaaaay Anna :D That's super fantastic news!!
-
Mel- good luck with your promotion
Amy- not long now
Skye- good luck with the scan today, and congrats on the beta
shazz- ahhh good old sleep deprivation, sorry it sucks!
Trish - woohoo and congrats on 16 years
Anna- congrats on seeing a heartbeat
Sushee- not long now until you're a lady of leisure.
I've been home in bed due to spotting. But still don't have a scan until the 17th!!!
-
That's excellent news Anna! Bet you were relieved to see that beautiful little heartbeat :hbeat:
Hey Sushee, only a few more days to go ;)
Melbo - Lol about the 5 kilo lady  I've already encountered an earth mother - she drove me nuts with her comments about natural child birth and her husband also joined in informing me how the female body is designed to give birth.....No!! Really??? Ughh. ;)
Hi NZGirl! Hope all's well. How's everything going?
Hi Skye - How'd your scan go?
Babydreams - I can relate 100% to your DH snoring comments - exp. a similar problem a couple of nights back with my DH, he told me he thought twice about arguing back, lol.
Hi to everyone else I missed!!!!
Love,
Didge
-
hello lovely ladies!
I am back at work  but only 6 days left if you don't count today.
Sheree, I'm sorry to hear that the spotting has continued. I can't imagine why they're still waiting for the 17th though? I had my us at 7 weeks exactly, not even a dildo cam, and the doctor saw the hb no problems. Is it because they're not sure of dates and want to play on the safe side? I hope the spotting's not to worrying and you're resting well.
Anna, congrats on seeing the hb! It seems more real now doesn't it? I think once you see the hb, the chances of m/c fall to less than 3%, so am glad you can relax and enjoy your pg.
Didge, Lol on your story about the earth mother. I am all for natural birth, but I don't even presume to expect everyone to have exactly the same opinions as me. And I would hate for anyone to judge me should I make decisions in labour that doesn't fit their idea of what I should have done. Mostly I figure if I get through it with a healthy baby on the other end, that's the very best you could hope for!
Mel, hoping you won that promotion, chick!
When do we officially start Amy-Watch, guys?
love
sushee
-
Hi Sushee
Yeah I'm assuming the dr just wants to be sure, the betas have been good, so he is treating me like a fertile!!! LOL. The spotting is just testing my sanity. I'll be OK - de ja vu really (had it everyday with Nicola).
-
Hello lovely ladies!!!
Had my scan this morning & we saw a h/b \:D/ I was so excited!!
Gotta love the dildo cam, my Dr ran out for a condom to go over it, then we p*ssed ourselves laughing as it has been many a year since that has happened to me :cryinglaugh:
Anna we have the same due date! For some reason my ticker updates late, but we are due on the 6th of October as well ;)
