Paula - we've chosen a girl's name, but if the Chicklet does happen to be a boy, well it might take a bit longer! We've got a shortlist of male names but nothing that we both really love...
Wantbaby - what's your FB details? Will have to look you up :) And what kind of dolls do you make? You mentioned something about selling them on ebay? Can we take a look? And Sammiejam - are you on FB too? We can sneak a peek at your pics there if you have any!
Londonmiss - where did you go for dinner? DH and I are really missing Melbourne at the moment, particularly all our favourite restaurants and bars. We're trying to work out the logistics of taking the Chicklet to our favourite French bistro when we go to Melbourne (it's very small and cosy and not really pram friendly...!).
Wishes - good to hear from you! Glad things are going well even if you are still waiting on your furniture! Ours took about 8 weeks to arrive, though they said it could take up to 12 so I was actually pleasantly surprised. Perhaps that should be their tactic and then when it only takes 4 weeks you'd be super happy!!
Kyra - hope you're feeling okay, well actually I hope you're sitting there with a little bundle in your arms, but i'm trying not to continually ask 'are you there yet' cos i'm sure it's terribly annoying. Needless to say am continuing to send all sorts of labour and other good vibes your way xx
AFM - enjoying the long weekend at home very much. DH even cooked me my favourite breakfast this morning (minus the fetta, but hey, can't complain!) and then I went back to bed and read a book until lunch time. Heavenly. We then did a spot of shopping for the Chicklet - she doesn't need any more clothes whatsoever but we had some Pumpkin Patch vouchers we had to spend by tomorrow so we bought her a super cute party dress to wear to DH's brother's wedding in Canada!
Big hello to everyone else, though it seems like there's really only a few of us on here nowdays doesn't it? Come on any lurkers, come join us so we don't get sick of each other ;)
Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies xx

Hi Ladies.. Thanks so much for all your lovely words of congratulations.. We have had a pretty rough start to all this as you know he was a biggen (he's actually 10pound and 1 point 2 ounces not 12 ounces as my husbands msg kinda read.. A lot of people thought the same..) I am very proud to say that i got my natural V birth after 12 hours and 46mins active labour.. we needed the ventouse at the end when I just thought I was too tired but turned out he had shoulder distocia and was unceremoniousy turned in my birth canal luckily by a lady with small hands'.. lol.. I had a 3rd degree tear and the worst pain was the local anesthetic for the ventouse extraction... That is the birth of my beautiful boy.. (full story to come when I post it in the birth stories thread) Unfortunately after Ethan's birth and having been stitched I ended up back in theatre as my stitched area had been leaking a lot of blood and by the time they realised it wasn't a normal PPH I had lost about 3.5 litres of blood and ended up with 2 blood transfusions totalling 7 units of blood and woke up in intensive care.. We have made it home after 3 1/2 days in hospital... Things are fantastic but I have to express every 3 hours and feed him formula until my milk comes right in cause he has an unsatiable appetiet and I call him my Lil suck monster... To answer what I think it was Wantbaby#2's question for names.. We chose Boh as his middle name as that was my FIL's name who passed away on the 3rd January this year from cancer.. very special to us..) I will be back at a point when I have some more time to be able to post some photos.. Good luck those that are getting close and trust your body.. Birth is amazing...

Hi ladies
I have just come across from the LT TTC forum. I have only just found out that i am pregnant :dance:My FET cycle was cancelled last month so i had a natural cycle. I was up to 50 days in my cycle and thought something must be up, that and the fact my bladder is going crazy. So i did a POAS on Sat and got a BFP straight up, got in for a BT on the same day and they confirmed the result. I am now paranoid everytime i feel an ache or pain and am just waiting for something to go wrong. It hasn't sunk in yet at all.

My fb is Sammie Jamieson - here's a link but not sure if it will work or not :)

Renee, CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the thread! I think we may have crossed paths/posts on the LTTTC threads :) I know you'll find loads of support here, after all we've all come from a similar position and know all too well the anxieties that can take place. It does get easier (well I found it does - a bit!) and it certainly helped me having all the lovely ladies here I could ask questions of.
Lilmiss, goodness me honey, what a rough experience. I hope you're enjoying being home with your gorgeous bubba. Looking forward to seeing your pics xx
-
Renee - many many congratulations and welcome to the thread. You can feel assured that we are all as paranoid as you, and that we've all asked the questions you no doubt will ask so don't worry! 50 day cycle... blimey! The only definite advice I will give you is that of all the things in life that it is much better to prevent than cure is constipation and piles, so from 16 weeks, read the book and eat the dry apricots like a goodun'. :D
My belly must have external webcams, had my fourth braxton hicks contraction in a pub at lunchtime yesterday. How totally embarrassing! Everyone thought I was going into labour, old ladies looked excited that they might have some drama in their lives. So far, they've been in a cab, the middle of the night on my own and in a pub. Never just when I'm sat watching the tv quietly!!!
Boh is a lovely lovely name. All our names are family names which I think makes them so much more special.
-
wishes great to hear from you and that you are doing well :D
LondonMiss everyone knows of our lil girls name. We always refer to her by her name so its no secret. Looks like you have a cheeky lil one in there giving you those contractions in funny places
Lise i hear you on the not needing anymore clothes. We have bought Tiana quite a fair bit but she is sooo worth it!!
Dee wow you certainly went through a fair bit there. Glad to hear though that you are now doing well and so is your little/big boy
Renee welcome and congratulations on your BFP!

Girls, we have our flights to Canada booked, woo hoo!!! Am very excited, now we can start planning/dreaming of things to do. Plus it means that DH can't back out of going to Prince Edward Island :-)
Paula- must be so nice not having to keep the sex of your baby a secret. All my family and friends are constantly listening to everything I say to see if I 'slip up', and the don't even know we know, argh!!!
Londonmiss - my BH contractions haven't been as bad as that and I'm hoping to keep it that way lol.
Hello to everyone else and belly rubs to all xx
-
Morning ladies. You'll hear a lot from me today as I'm at work, and my boss hasn't read my email about my next task so I'm just wasting time until then....
A few quick ones. Lise - I'm still eating feta as it's a hard cheese (in the LondonMiss definition anyway). Have you been told not to? Out of interest. We made a paprika potato dish last night with spinach chickpeas and aioli. Bit concerned that the aioli might be lingering this morning. Oh well, I can't regret a night of yoga, lovely meal and NCIS (such charming young men, as my mother would say)
Glad you have your Canadian adventure planned, Lise. I think I've gone slightly mad, it must be the fact that we can't fly anymore really, I'm reading travel books and consulting maps, as if I'm about to circumnavigate the world. I keep asking DH random questions, like "how about Vietnam in January?" and he's giving me that pitying look reserved for children or slightly mental dogs. Maybe its an extreme reaction to the fact that the baby will change our life, and dealing with it. Possibly a six month old and Vietnam might be a little bit dramatic. I had a dream last night that I gave birth but she was a toddler and told me how the birth had been. Which was kind of odd...
Paula - dammit - I like a secret!!! :D
Hope you are all well, yes, any lurkers should definitely join in.... there must be quite a few judging by the posts/ reading numbers. I wonder who does read this thread? Hopefully not my mother in law.........or DH!!!!
-
London miss~ I often wonder who reads these posts too.My DH is too stupid to know where to go to find us.LOL He doesnt even know the name of the forum! All he knows is that i type letters to pregnant women.... (as he describes it).
I have met a few of you on fb now.So nice to have a face to put the names to.
Sammiejam~ Little Colt is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I think i posted under one of the pics that i wanted him?? Im sure little peanut would LOVE another brother so if you get sick of him..pass him over LOL.(Just joking) He IS adorable though. He does have eyebrows, they are just very blonde. They will darken a little. Thankyou for sharing the pics.
Paula,Lise~ Great to meet you both.
AFM im 26 weeks today!! Only one week left in the 2nd trimester.
We finally got our cot/change table/cot mattress/cot change pad yesterday and it all fit in the 4wd so its sitting in boxes waiting to be put together. We also got a 3piece sheet set thrown in and huge discounts. Our cot set is from Bertini and is white and VERY solid. The whole package was discounted to $850. I then bought a beautiful cot mobile which i LOVE.It is a handmade style arty type with little felt birds inside that dangle around. So sweet.
I have also ordered those glass/crystal drawer knobs (shabby chic style) for the drawers and im bidding on some vintage pictures and a crystal vintage bohemian glass style lamp on ebay. All i need then is the white can chair and a white flokati rug for under the cot then all done!
The bedding is pinks/creams/turqoise/green patchwork and rosebud print.
Oh i love how its coming together!! Im so excited.I always wanted a nursery for my bub.
Having waited 6 years,i guess ive had plenty of time to plan this in my head. LOL
Well today im going to walk up to the post office and post some dolls then come home and do some sculpting.I now need to bring in some more money to payfor everything.
We start our birth classes on monday at the private hospital.Cant wait.Im excited about DH watching a birth video.....lets see if he leaves the room??
How is everyone else going with their classes?
Have a great day girls x
-
LondonMiss - no, I'm not eating feta as all the info I've read lists it as a 'high risk' food (like brie etc), though I do eat it if it's in something and cooked well. But there's so much conflicting info out there, hard to k ow what to do sometimes!! Glad to find a fellow NCIS fan! DH is always asking if I want to go to the movies on Tuesday and sadly I say no as it's the only day I actually watch something on tv  plus I'm a bit of sleepy head these days and need to be in bed way too early for the movies!!
Wantbaby - so exciting to have all your stuff, and so cheap too! All the more money leftover for the really fun part of decorating :) You're starting classes much earlier than we are, DH and I start next week also. I'm trying to get him to start reading up as I think he could potentially be quite useless when the time comes!! That sounds very nasty, DH is very smart and competent but I think he could get overwhelmed out of concern for me, so glad he's coming to classes.
As for who reads this thread - no idea! DH knows I write on it and I think if pressed could name it. I think he's rather amused that I write all these things to people i've never met, particularly when I tell him we've been discussing DTD!!
AFM - waiting to see my GP. I've so had enough of going to work for an hour and coming home feeling even worse so I'm hoping the doctor will give me lots of time off and then I
don't have to go back to work before mat leave starts...!!!
-
ohmigod - did you watch last night? Abbey's new dog? DH looked at me, saw me misting up and told me very firmly that we were not getting another customs lab at the same time as a baby even if Abbey's new dog was "the cutest thing in the world" (his words not mine). It's sooooooo lovely, I shall be watching it for the dog now, never mind anything else
[sorry for the non-pregnancy interlude!]
-
lise yay on booking your flights!! I love travelling!
LondonMiss LOL at giving birth to a toddler. NOW that would be an experience.
wantbaby#2 great to put a face to the screen name too. Your dolls are just devine! So realistic that it kind of looked weird seing the "Work in progress" doll with the arms and legs everywhere.. haha. I cant wait to start my classes but still have a long wait as they dont start till 10th June.
Sammie i have to agree that Colt is just adorable!! Seeing newborn pics at the moment just excites me beyond words. To think that i will have one of my own soon! :o Cant wait.
My DH thinks its amusing that i share so much on a forum too.. But to be honest, i would be lost without BB!
-
Well girls, NO MORE WORK FOR ME, yay!!!!! My GP was most obliging and actually was the one to suggest I take the next couple of weeks off as personal leave before my official mat leave starts. So I'm going in tomorrow to tidy up and do a handover but I won't be going back! Hasn't quite sunk in yet that I won't be returning to work until next year but I'm sure it won't take me too long to get used to it :-) I'll have to practice my best Stepford Wife look!!
londonmiss - that puppy was sooooo cute! Have you heard anything about how your furbaby is going?
Paula, I totally agree with your sentiments re BB. You guys know more about the inner workings of my mind than do most of my friends :)
-
Hey girls guess what I'm back :)
I had my 12w5d scan today bubs measuring in at 13w but we're still taking it as 12w5d cause it was IVF hehe ...
Its one stubborn healthy little bubba with a heartbeat of 154 and we have a 1:13,594 chance of down syndrome which was another great relief! Its a sleepy bubba and likes being on its side the lady kept wiggling the little camera thing to make it wake-up and made me cough lol looks like we have a mellow lazy little thing (which is good) And my blood clot is nearly gone too so I'm happy about that its taken alot of weight of our shoulders :)
-
:) Good news Miss K! Mellow sounds good
I'm nervous, and require a soothing yet encouraging kick up the bum. We've got a 4d scan on Sunday (we decided to get one on the basis that it is burned to a CD and it's the only way we can show all our families in the UK) and not having had a scan since I was 18 weeks, I've now got it into my head that something will have gone wrong. Like, what if she's sprouted another head or somethings fallen off or the cord is wrapped round her neck or...... Which I know is ridiculous, and all the docs appointments say the heartbeat is fine and growth is good and so on, but I'm all scared... sort of pre-scan jitters. I even know I'm being stupid, and still can't stop it.
