Welcome Glenny! I got one of those lucky BFP on 1st attempt and definitely felt guilty announcing my news in the LTTTC thread but everyone was super supportive and told me I was silly for feeling guilty.
MissK - got a 'happy mum's day' from friends of ours that know I am pregnant, but not from DH himself. Bloody men. :wall:
Lise, thinking about the lack of MS, I am having fortnightly acupuncture that I have continued after the EPU/ET, so you might be right there with acupuncture helping. Good luck with your scan tomorrow too - how exciting!! I'm definitely aiming to not know the sex of ours. If we are lucky enough to get to baby#2 then maybe we will find out.
Brunette, glad to hear you are settled in the new house and that DH is still being nice and attentive. So happy that you heard the heartbeats again after the new bleeding, what a relief. I really wish I could get in to Bob as well, instead of Titiz next door. I doubt we would EVER get a 1hr appt with Titiz, he just wants to rush me out the door!!
What are the new baby books that you've checked out, I'm really bored with the two I have and they are totally different. One tells me the little munchkin is 1cm and the other says 2.5cm!
DH and I are heading up to Port Douglas and Cairns for a week tomorrow, his brother is getting hitched. FS has given us the 'no sex til week 12' talk due to the spotting I've had (which has now stopped!!) so unfortunately the trip wont be as great as DH was hoping - oh well ;-) Have so much running around tomorrow morning before we jump on the plane, have to put my gorgeous furbaby in a boarding kennel and there will be tears (I'm emotional enough as it is without having to say goodbye to my baby for a week).
So I had a look online at a few hospitals here in Brisbane, and based on websites North West Private at Everton Park seems to be really well equipped with spas and double headed massage showers in the birthing suites, and subject to availability double beds in the maternity ward. Any idea ladies on when I should start speaking to hospitals to book in? They have their classes that need to be booked by 15weeks so I have a bit of time up my sleeve there.
Hopefully I'll have wifi or broadband up in Port Douglas so I'll be able to jump on here more than I have been recently.
Take care everyone!
Chrissy

CK77- Thanks for the welcome. I see you and I are both with Dr Titiz! I have mixed feelings about him as well. I only went with him because when I was originally referred for FS Bob was a four month waiting list and I wasn't going to wait that long.
I think Titiz could use some work with his bedside manner for sure (But that's what Louise and Kris are for) but I have to say, I think technically he's very good. He did my lap surgeries and drilling as well and it's all made a big difference to my hormone levels. (I have PCOS as well as Endo)
If you really want to change over to Bob, I don't see why you can't. You might have to wait but you could prob see him by the 19th week scan and just keep seeing Dr Titiz in the mean time? When we started seeing him for the IVF, I wanted to change but I have changed my mind since.
I've been looking at North West as well. It's nice and handy for us and my family and every time I've been there (surgeries and IVF) the nurses and staff have been amazing! I'm not sure when you have to organise everything. I might ask Dr Titiz on Monday when I have my scan. (Actually, I'll ask Louise- she'll prob be more help.

Chrissy, I saw Bob this morning and thought of you as I walked past your dr's rooms. I am lucky to be able to see Bob as I was seeing him before changing to a different FS who got me UTD. In answer to some of your questions, I got some info on a lot of it this morning. You're right you can book into antenatal classes from 15 weeks onwards. Maybe we could book into the same antenatal class, as Bob delivers at North West, too. You are so organised already checking out the rooms. If you have to have a c-section, I wonder whether you get to go back to those double bed rooms with spas? Might check out the website, too. Re good books, I really liked What to Expect When You're Expecting (which I have read cover to cover, which Kris says is the only person she knows who has done that) plus I'm on my second multiples book. She told me no more reading and no more googling because it's more horror stories than good on Google - much to the relief of my DH! Enjoy your holiday in Port Douglas and Cairns. I'm the same as you - no sex until 12 weeks. They'll be all right - men!
Hey Glenny, funny that you're also seeing CK's doc and probably going to deliver at North West? Maybe we could all do the same antenatal class?
AFM, as I said, I saw Bob this morning and had another scan, 7 weeks and 5 days today. Still about 10mm blood around, but both twins are growing. One is slightly larger than the other: 16mm and 14mm and apparently you can see the beginnings of the placenta, little arm buds and egg yolk - at least bob could but we have a family snap now. Lots of info given to me by Kris about when to book in scans for Downs etc so bit to absorb but feel a lot better and more reassured now. I need to get onto a good iron supplement as anaemia can be an issue with multiples. Still confined to home till week 12 but Bob said I can sit in front of the computer and on the lounge - and I can even go out once a week with mum if I'm in a wheelchair to the shops to have a look around (really to claim back money from Medicare!) so I am very happy about that.
Big shout out to everyone!
-
Brunette and CK- That's so funny that we will all be at NorthWest (maybe around the same time.....)
I'm definately up for booking into the same antenatal classes! Would be nice to already know someone there.
-
Hullo all. First of all, how bollocking freezing is it???? Serves me right for buying my maternity wear when I was 12 weeks. Had my 30 week visit today, now have visits at 33 weeks (doc), 36 (midw), 38 (doc), 40 (midw) and 41 (doc) weeks. Thought I'd share that as no one else had told me it, v frustratingly. Started my antenatal classes last night, how hilariously middle class and touchy feely that was. I nearly punched a man who kept saying things like "we're not having pain relief". No, you aren't no. That's because you're a man and aren't squeezing a 10cm bone mass out of your sexual organs. WE????? WE?????? jesus wept.
-
Ladies - it's a boy. Am a little upset at the moment, will be back to post later
-
Oh sweetheart - I hope you are ok. I think I'm right is saying you don't mind having a boy other than you've got used to the idea of having a girl, but even so it must be a bit of a swerve ball. Thinking of you xxxx
-
CONGRATS KYRA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you are enjoying every little minute xxoo
Paula - Wahoo for everything going well for you!!
Londonmiss - Soo true about the "I only have to look at my husband line" that just used to get to me! And I am laughing at your explosive stomach I had that the other week! I am short aswell so I wonder how I will go with breathing later on as if I eat too much I can't really breath as it is hehe! And yes it is freeeeezing! I am loling at your post re the guy at the ante natal class haha
p.s my EDD is 5th November :) Thanks
glenny_c - Welcome and congrats! Don't feel guilty!! We all feel that way sometimes even though we have waited 4 years I still felt sorry for the other girls! Everybody deserves it no matter what!
Brunette - Wahoo for your sccan and everything going well! I hope the bed rest doesn't get too boring! Hows the new place? I remember we went camping and I couldn't do a thing I felt soo bad for DH...
CK77 - Im not the only one then we need to kick them in the balls LOL I have booked into the Wesley at Auchenflower its close to milton there! I found that one the best one expecially compared to North West had a few friends go there and weren't happy at all! And also wesley has private room with a spa and also all private rooms and DH can stay the whole time with you and they give him a bed if you don't get a double bed room plus you're overlooking the river and they have a fantastic lactation part too!! Where in brissy are you? I'm in brissy too! Have you looked into pregnancy yoga at all? I really want to do it hey!
Renee - Have you tried gingernut biscuits?? They are supposed to help with MS..
lise - Are you ok babe? That happened to a really good friend of mine and she painted her walls pink and everything she only has 3 weeks to go and found out Friday last week...
AFM - I didn't really have to pee much before but the last 4 days I have to pee soo much like I pee before getting into bed then wake-up at 3am-4am again then when I wake up for work again OMG I thought I got out of it easy but nope peeing like a racehorse LOL!!!
Also OB said Placenta is at the back and bub is right at the front so will be able to feel bub from the outside sooner than usual I was like WAHOO! And ToysRus and Target have big sales on tomorrow I am going to go before work

Hi Ladies,
I have been MIA for quiet a while now and have been meaning to jump back into this tread for a couple of weeks. Firstly a huge congratulations to the ladies who have babies over the last 6 weeks or so!! I hope you have been enjoying those precious few weeks. Also, congratulations and a big welcome to all the new ladies who have recently celebrated their BFPs!!
Life has been a bit hectic at my end, I dropped out of the thread the week or so before we headed off on our baby moon. All available computing time was spent on last minute trip plans. We had a fantastic time in Japan. Such a clean and efficient country, and the Japanese were so friendly and helpful. Travelling pregnant was a little tough... hubbie carried the bags but the feet still hurt by the afternoon. I really missed a glass of wine with dinner...normally it doesn't bother me but it is so much tougher when you are on holidays and dinning out every night. We have slowly been getting back into the swing of things and getting organised for the bub since we got back... I can't believe it is now under 8 weeks to go!
It will take me a little while to catch up and get to know the newbies, although I have seen Lise and Wishes who and they have filled me in on a few of the going on in here.
Lise - hope you are feeling better tomorrow. I will give you a call then. It must be a bit of a shock, although better now than when your bundle arrives...... everything will no doubt fall into place between now and then xox
-
Miss K, I am getting used to the bed rest - and it's not too bad now that my FS said I could move downstairs to the lounge and also sit behind a computer and even go out once a week if mum can take me to the shopping centre in a wheelchair. Oh, the things I now look forward to! Hee hee. I love our new place. Just frustrating that I can't get in and put everything away where I want it to be and tidy it up, give it a woman's touch. My DH has boxes everywhere and has this amazing knack for leaving them right in the most obvious path! What the? Good news for you about the placenta placement and being able to feel the bub kicking soon!
Lise, sorry to hear that they messed up the gender. Any chance you can take back the girls clothes already bought? Not that I'm sure that is what is top of mind, as you said you had bonded to the idea of having a girl. Hope you're doing okay.
AFM, I am really peeved about my private health insurance. I am going to try to clear things up tomorrow when mum takes me to Medibank Private. I have been insured on what I thought was top-level for about 2 years, but because I am on a single membership and my fiance has his own insurance, if I have more than one child (god willing, my twins will be born H&H) then the second child is not covered, as I suppose it is technically considered a family and not single insurance. Honestly, why did they think I upgraded to cover pregnancy if the child is not covered once born - or if you are having multiples. It's such a rip-off this private health insurance. If we're not covered for this because they say it's pre-existing or something, I am going to go right off tomorrow after all the money we've been paying. My DH wanted to join us up on the one fund a little while ago but I had really good benefits for extras and things. Man, I am so annoyed!
-
Oh Lise    you poor thing! Hope you are feeling a little brighter today. I know it's not the same but can I tell you, as someone who was dead-set certain they were having a girl (even though it was unconfirmed) I was a little shocked for oh about 5 mins when I found out (after I came out of my drug-induced stupor that is) but now you know what? I'm GLAD I have a little boy, he is so beautiful that it doesn't even matter anymore. He is healthy and he is here in my arms and that's all that matters. And as someone said to me, boys always look after their mums! I know you must feel crushed though, but hopefully you will have the strength to get past this one.
Renee: :hello: fellow Novocastrian! Which Ob are you seeing? I saw Jillian Spilsbury and she was AMAZING! Can't rave enough about her. Will you be delivering at Newcastle Private? If so PM me if you want any info!
Big :bellyrubs: to all you other lovely babymamas!
-
Hello, I know what you mean Brunette. My DH works for an insurance company (that doesn't do health insurance) and he is mystified how they manage to sell products that are basically useless - they don't cover precisely the sort of thing you want them for, but give you absolutely pointless "freebies" like massage or acupuncture, for which it would be massively cheaper to buy directly yourself. But I'm obviously British and a bit dim so can't understand the whole medicare + insurance thing....
I am most miffed, I have just realised that everyone on this blog is meeting up and seeing each other... am I the only sad git sat here on my own???
-
Hi Ladies,
I've been on the LTTTC thread for the past month, and am another one who just today found out that I've gotten my BFP on my first round of IVF! I can totally feel the guilt some of you were mentioning (sorry -- I just read through the whole thread so I'd be up-to-date) because I felt pretty bad giving my news in the LTTTC threads after not being on them for so long (although we'd been trying naturally for the past 6 years so it's not like I'm *that* lucky).
Anyway, first just wanted to say "hi" to those of you I recognize from the other threads (Glenny, Brunette, CK77, Renee) and to those of you I'm "meeting" for the first time. I hope you don't mind my joining your group.
Secondly, I know literally nothing about pregnancy since, after so many years of disappointment, I've made a policy not to read any pregnancy books until actually expecting. (I guess it's time to finally go out and buy "What to Expect When You're Expecting"!) So can any of you please let me know how my beta level (260 at 16 dpo) stacks up? The nurse said it was good, but I'd love some reassurance. I have a follow-up BT in a week then my 1st scan in 2 weeks. I can't wait -- it will really be good to see a heartbeat and make this more real.
Thanks!
Kitkat72
-
KitKat - :thumbsup:Congrats on your BFP!!!
Lise - hope you are feeling better today, it must have been one hell of a shock.
Londonmiss - don't feel bad i don't live in brisbane either! so no your not that sad:)
BOC - Hi i don't have private health so i am seeing a GP - Abbie Bingham (she is fab!) and she actually sends her patients to jillian for our scans, so i will be seeing her in a couple of weeks. I will be delivering at the John.
Miss K, Brunette, CK77, mitf, gleenyC and anyone i missed (sorry):hello:hope you ladies are well.
AFM - I saw my new doc today and loved her, she was fab. I also had a dating scan done today so was able to see our blob for the first time and see its heart beat which was so magical. Everything looks great she said and my dates were right. So now i won't feel so guilty if i buy some little things here and there!
-
KitKat- Yay!!!!!!!! So glad you get to ove over here! I've been watching the old thread and wondering if you or Leabie would join us. I' so happy for you!!!
260 sounds perfect! mine was 144 at 15 DPO and 332 at 17DPO, so you would fall in the middle!!! Yay! So Excited for you!!!!!!!!
-
Hi ladies,
Thanks for all your kind words of support. I must admit I feel very precious being so upset, especially after our journey to get here, but after bonding with a girl baby for the last three months I had to do some grieving before I could get excited about a boy. I'm feeling much better today, and don't judge me too much when I say that shopping for a boy definitely helped!! Last night when we got home we took one last look through our bag of girls clothes and had a bit of a chat about letting go of our baby girl Sophie. Today, first thing I hit the shops and our lovely gorgeous little boy now has an equally fabulous wardrobe. And the scan photos we have are gorgeous, although again, the quality is not great because, like last time, he's squashed up against my placenta so not much fluid around his little face (or not so little, he has the cutest chubby cheeks already!!), plus he's head down ready to go so really didn't want to look at the camera, and quite simply, getting too big! Anyway, thanks again, it really meant a lot to me to read your posts, especially since nobody outside of you lovely BB girls know what's going on xx
So, enough of me...
Kitkat - welcome, welcome!! It's so lovely to see so many from the LTTTC threads heading over this way, and lovely that you all have such a nice number of ladies to travel through your pregnancies with :) As for your numbers, I can't remember what mine were sorry but if the nurse is happy with it then I wouldn't be too concerned. I think the doubling is more important, so as long as that is happening then all good.
Renee - how lovely for you to see the heartbeat for the first time, it really is such a special moment isn't it? I remember tearing up when I saw it, as did DH!
Brunette - I hope you can sort things out with your health insurance fund honey, they just totally suck sometimes don't they? But glad to hear that you can move around a bit more and even leave the house!!
LondonMiss - i'll tell you when I come to Melbourne and we can have a visit!! And you're of course more than welcome to come visit in Canberra ;-)
Miss K - hehehe, yes, I don't think any of us can escape the constant peeing no matter what other symptons we manage to avoid! Hope you had fun shopping - I know I did!
Mitf - i'm the same with dining out, I feel like such a teenager when i'm in a nice restaurant and then I order a lemonade, hehehe!
Well that's enough for me or you'll or be falling asleep. Big hello's to everyone, and belly rubs to all xx
-
Welcome, KitKat! I think HcG levels are pretty variable. My first one at 4 weeks and 3 days was 3163! So we immediately suspected twins. And then I think one week later it was 24,000 and something. But I think once you are able to have your first scan, then they don't worry about monitoring Hcg levels and go from the scans. Well done to you! Have you heard from Leabie as to how she is doing?
Hey Lise, I'm glad to hear you're feeling a lot better about having a precious little boy now. Amazing how shopping is great therapy, hey? :)
Just a quick post from me, I'm so excited to be going to the shopping centre with mum in a wheelchair. I even have put some make-up on. Yay!
Talk to you all soon xo
-
Hello all. Just a quick one, was it Kitkat who made the comment about buying What to Expect when....? My advice, find a chair in a big bookstore. Get at least five books down and pick a subject and look it up in all the books. Say for example, Braxton Hicks contractions or taking medicines. Read what it says in all the books, and compare the advice that they give, and pick the one that you like best. I'm sorry, even though there is what is allegedly an Australian edition, WTEWE was FARRRRRRR too american for me, and really odd stuff about risks and stuff. You all know my hobby horse on this one - no evidence whatsoever that it's dangerous to drink when in third trimester if it's just in little bits, but over 80% of babies who die in the womb do so after a car accident. But have you EVER read a maternity book that tells you to take public transport??? No. Ludicrous. Not a single example of an Australian woman getting listeria when pregnant in the last year, but still they harp on about soft cheese as if it were invented by Lord Voldemort himself.
So my advice, take your time before getting WTEWE. I like Up the Duff simply for the humour, and I have a book by Prof Regan which I think is brilliant, but for similar reasons should warn you it's british. But the photos are sooooo much better than anything else I've seen on the market. I told DH I needed at least three so don't hold back.
But learn from me DO NOT READ THE CHAPTERS CALLED WHAT CAN GO WRONG IN LABOUR. At least until you are 30 weeks anyway. Doesn't help you at all other than giving you a whole new list of things to worry about and I wish I hadn't!!!!
BTW Congratulations and welcome to the thread!!!!!
-
ps Kitkat let me know your due date and I'll stick you on the list.
pps Lise - I think shopping is by far the most sensible thing to have done!!! hope you are ok x
-
Woo Hoo... I get to come and freak out in here!! My first pregnancy in 4 years, and I honestly don't know how I'm feeling from moment to moment. It's bizarre and cool and oh so many things.
Worst is that we've spent so much time just getting here, that after we get here, I have absolutely no idea about what comes next!!
Congratulations to everyone who has made it in here, it's a most amazing achievement.
-
My god this must be the most people to join in a month ever!! Congatulations and welcome!! Let me know your due date when you know it and I'll put you on the list.
Lise you feeling nervous about heading up that list yet cos I am .... I've got such pains in my lower belly. I did far too much yesterday and haven't left the house today. Yarra Trams did overnight works with an angle grinder outside my house again until 4am so I'm tempted to actually go and speak to a lawyer. It can't be right that you can create as much noise as you like without giving any notice at all. I could have gone and slept on a girlfriends sofa, it's SOOOO frustrating.
Hope you all have good weekends. Anyone got anything on? I'm cooking curry, NCIS tonight and preg yoga tomorrow. So all happy in the LM household... BTW 'newbies' - best thing I ever did was starting preg yoga early on. It's helped so much. If you can find a recommened one with a proper teacher in your local area, I'd give it a go.
-
Lise~ CONGRATULATIONS on finding out your having a little boy.It might take some time for you to readjust but nevertheless this is still great news.I know you were bonding with a little girl.I am sure i would feel the same.It must be a shock for you but i KNOW in time, you will be soooo close to your little guy.He will just melt your heart, especially when you see his little face.It makes me wonder whether finding out the sex is a good idea after all? At the end of the day,we are all in here because we so desperately wanted a baby and that is what we are blessed with...finally.Your little man obviously has a sense of humour, playing tricks of hide n seek the willy with you.He is just keeping you intrigued.I do hope you feel a bit better.xxxxxx
Hello Londonmiss and congrats to the newcomers!!
CONGRATULATIONS KYRA on the birth of your baby son,TRISTAN.:stork-boy::bluecheer::itsaboy:
I cant wait to see some pics on FB.
AFM i have been lurking but mostly keeping updates with most on FB
( We can share pics :) )
I am doing well.I have started my ante natal classes at st george private which are fun to look forward to each monday.DH is very intrigued by it all. Im feeling Peanut hiccough quite often now.Yesterday she must have had her head near my pubic bone because of the constant twitch i could feel.I think she is lying across my uterus.I can see and feel bony bumps move across my belly and its so much fun.I cant believe i only have 12 weeks to go.Im getting a bit impatient now.I want to hold her and see her.
We have the cot replaced so DH put it up lastnight for me.Just need to get started on putting things in its place before i get too 'blimpy'.LOL
Well hoping everyone is doing well.
Belly rubs to all.
-
Hehe LondonMiss, yes I am a bit freaked at my position on the list - I need Seph to post too so I'm not the top most regular poster!! In relation to preggy books, I don't mind the WTEWYE books but mostly for the weekly info. I also have the British one with lots of pics which I really like too. And then of course I have Kaz so I've got it well covered!
Welcome S'rose!! A big congratulations to you :) Don't worry about not knowing anything, I was the same too. The focus for so long is about having a baby that you kind of forget you need to be pregnant for 9 months first!! Find some resources you like and ask as many questions on here as you need to!
Brunette - hope your excursion out of the house was good!
AFM, we're having a family gathering tomorrow so today I have been baking and as Murphy's Law would have it, I think it's all crap and I'll be embarrassed to bring it. AND to make it worse it took me 3 visits to the shops to remember everything!!! Oh well, hopefully everyone else is drinking and won't notice ;)
-
Wantbaby - I totally agree and next time we WON'T be finding out he sex beforehand at all! As you said, all we really want is a healthy baby so I don't care really what it is!!
-
LondonMiss great job on the list. It sure is getting bigger all the time which is excellent news for all us LTTTC's.
CK77 hope your having a great time away despite the no holiday sex..
Brunette glad the scan went well and both bubs are growing nicely. I agree with private health insurance being a total rip off. It always seems to be going up. But what can you do? If you want to be in a private hospital with your own dr, you must pay up.
lise glad you are doing much better. Shopping for that fabulous wardrobe was definitely the right thing to do :)
MissK the constant peeing continues hun so enjoy.. haha.. Thats excellent that you will be feeling bub early. Its the most amazing feeling ever.
mitf great to hear you had a good time in Japan. 8 weeks, wow not long at all!! Very exciting.
Renee glad you are happy with your new dr and that you got to see your "blob".. haha.. so very magical indeed.
Wantbaby#2 great to hear you got the cot replaced. Definitely time to start putting things away. Im so excited to start but will prob wait till after the 30 week mark also.
Big welcome to KitKat72 and Sonya! I absolutely love seeing new people move over from the LTTTC thread!! Hope you both have fantastic pregnancies.
Not much to report on my end. Have moved our 4D scan to a week earlier. I am so impatient! So now we will be seeing Tiana on the 22nd of May. One more week :dance:

Hi ladies!
Mind if I pop in here!? Sorry for my tardiness Glenny and Brunette - the news is still sinking in, and I feel like I shouldn't even be posting in here yet! You beautiful things, for thinking of me.
Its so lovely to see so many familiar names in here. Hope you're all doing excellently, I have much to catch up on, will aim to do that over the weekend.
A quick update on me - after an initial HCG of 96 last Friday (16DPO), I got another reading of 313 on Monday (19DPO), so was relieved to say the least! My progesterone was still great after stopping the pessaries (900+) so the next step with the FS is the scan at 7 weeks. Thyroid already playing up, so have started thyroxin, on top of the aspirin I'm taking for ANA. Hopefully all bases are covered!
Feeling a little uneasy though this arvo, as my acupuncturist isn't quite happy with my yin/yang pulse or whatever it is, she said its not strong yet, hence the embryo isn't strong yet. I'm throwing all her Chinese herbs at this as well, and keeping fingers crossed. Coupled with the fact that I've been instructed by my FS to book my OB now (I'm a massive believer in Murphy's law, so this is not sitting well with me at all!), I've got a case of the jitters! I know I'm not supposed to be stressing, so just doing my best to relax, and get through one day at a time...
Sorry for the download girls! I didn't mean to start this way, its obviously weighing on my mind more than I thought... I guess I can't be doing any more than I am, so every day I'm still pregnant is a good day.
Have a great weekend everyone, look forward to catching up on everyone's news!

Apologies while I get to remember all my new buddies in here, I will get to being able to do personals soon I promise!!
But I am going to see my parents today to tell them about our baby. I have told just about everyone at work, but I work in the allied health field, so everyone has been with me through the past year and a bit so the support has been brilliant. I felt like they all deserved to share the joy given they shared the worry and disappoints too.
DH is a lot more cautious, but I just have a good feeling about this and I am holding on to that strongly for now.
I started reading Kaz last night, and the humour is great, makes it so much easier to read!! I really did it because we are going to America in July and people are telling him I can't fly!! And I really really want to go to New York!! It will be ages before we get to travel again so I don't want to miss out :)
Leabie - talking about the worries is so important, it would be worse if you tried to ignore them. And it's good if the AP has found that the pulse is not as strong as would be liked, because it can be supported better. This way there are more targeted herbs which boost attachment. Just hang on to that thought, and if it were me, there would be some long comversations with the little mite full of love and commitment and willingness to hang in there!!

Hello
Hi lovely ladies,
Thanks so much for the words of welcome.
Leabie - yay! So good to see you in here -- I knew you were a bit ahead of me and I was wondering what had happened with you! Your levels sound great.
Brunette - that must be so tough having to be on bed rest so early. How was your big excursion to the shopping center? I hope you enjoyed your little jailbreak - lol. Freedom! :confetti:
Lise - what a shock that must have been finding out that the your baby's sex was a boy after being told that it was a girl. I think it's perfectly understandable that you would need some time to absorb that information. Good idea doing some shopping -- what a great way to be able to get excited about having a little boy. :)
LondonMiss - first, my clinic says my EDD is 21 Jan 2011, which I don't quite get b/c all the online due date calculators list it as 18 Jan. However, I guess I'll go with what my clinic says! Second, thanks so much for your tips re: pregnancy books. Funny hearing your comments about the What to Expect When You're Expecting book: I think the reason I instinctively thought of that book first is b/c I'm American, and that's the book that all the American girls get (at least all my friends) when they find out they're preggers. I totally understand your criticisms about it; a lot of people I know read it for the info, but complain about how they had to stop reading it b/c it was so focused on all the negatives that can happen that it was freaking them out. My only concern is that I'm a bit of a high risk pregnancy because I have high blood pressure, which apparently raises all sorts of issues such as increased pre-eclampsia risk, etc (as well as being the dreaded "advanced maternal age", which is supposedly a risk factor in and of itself), so I'm wondering if I'm better off educating myself as to everything that I should be looking out for, as horrible as it is to be thinking that way. Anyway, I'm going to take your great suggestion to sit down at the bookstore and look at a whole bunch of books. I actually was going to copy what Brunette did and go to the library first. Unfortunately I missed my chance to hit the library this morning before it shut and don't want to wait till Monday, so I'm just going to go to the bookstore this afternoon. Third, thanks for the tip re: pre-natal yoga. I'm definitely interested in trying that. Just need to find a place near where I live on the Goldy.
Otherwise, I was just interested to see that I seem to be feeling stronger PG symptoms today. It was the first morning I woke up w/sore books, and I got a little queasy when I was coming back from my morning walk. Now the queasiness has settled but I seem to be salivating more, as I've read others have experienced as well. So I guess that's all a good sign that things are continuing well. By the way, the nurse told me yesterday that my progesterone level was 340, based on which my FS was dropping me from 2 Crinone a day to 1 a day, until my next BT this Thursday. Since I was playing phone tag with the nurse and she eventually told me all this over the voicemail, I have no idea how good a level 340 is, or what it is supposed to be right now. (Otherwise, I would have asked her.) Any thoughts on what PG levels should be looking like for what I presume to be a singleton pregnancy?
Hi to everyone I've missed -- I'm still getting up to speed with who's who so I'll try to have more persies next time. :)
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Kitkat72
PS. S'rose: I'm so excited for your trip to the States. I'm from New York City so am stoked to hear how much you want to visit there. PM me if you'd like any tips on what to do when you're there! When's your EDD, by the way?
-
Hey KitKat, my hcg without any prog support was 335 at 16 dpo with a day 5 embryo. HTH.
My EDD according to computer will be 20th Jan (day after my birthday!) but I am waiting for the 7 week scan to see what the clinic put it at really.
I would love to hear of some great places to go, DH and I are completely excited, its pretty cool.
I too have hit the sore bb's moment. Had a work function last night for DH and every time I had to clap I winced. Then went to bed in a singlet to ease the moving lol. I've also been very thirsty, so will have to get my water intake back up again. and wayyyy TMI... my bottom has been working overtime in the past couple of days

Hello all. Sorry for clogging up the thread with another post but as things are happening so fast, I thought I'd better get it up to date before I forget! I hope you are all well and had good weekends. We went to see Robin Hood yesterday, I think the British should fine hollywood a million pounds everytime they say something funny about English history, then we could wipe out our national debt by Christmas. I do like Russell Crowe, but the top off action was a bit better in Gladiator, if I'm honest ;) It was entertaining though if you haven't seen it. Are we all going to see The Back Up Plan? I did laugh, on the trailer he turns up on the doorstep with WTEWYAE!!
Now, all I came on to say was (and I've forgotten who it was) don't let anyone put you off going on holiday!!! The world would have you believe that you can't do anything in pregnancy which is nonsense, if you just take it down a level or two, I don't think now is the time to do that boat trip down the Amazon that you've always wanted but I think metropolitan New York should be safe enough ;) We flew to Perth when I was about 3 months though and I did get blown up with gas, so my GP recommended taking a de-gas before you fly, also I should have taken some looser clothes. And I don't have an iphone but the only app I can see has any use whatsoever is one that shows you where the nearest toilet is!!! my friend has one, it's wonderful!! Now I can't fly anymore, I have got the worst itchy feet I've ever had. I can't stop travel planning and reading travel books, just finished one on Venice... *sigh*.... So you have to go to New York on behalf of us fat ones who can't fly anymore and are dreaming about it... they have Tosca on at the Opera at the moment, doubt it will still be on in July but it sounds wonderful. Not that I'm jealous or anything
-
Leabie - congrats and welcome! This must be some kind of record, how many of you is that now?!
Renee - glad you're feeling a bit better, and hope you had a lovely birthday! I had my birthday just before Christmas and I was most annoyed at not being able to really celebrate...!!
S'rose - the sore bb's don't really go anyway, let me tell you! DH only has to look like touching them and I screech at him like a banshee, hehehe! And I personally think better your bottom work overtime than not at all, I had the opposite problem and it didn't seem to matter how much fruit I ate or what I did... And I agree with LondonMiss - travel while you can because all too soon you won't be able to fly and even driving will be uncomfortable. Talk to Mitf also - she went to Japan for a couple of weeks at 24 weeks and had no problems :)
Kitkat - I can't remember what my numbers were, I only ever had the one BT and I don't think they were that high, but I think it doesn't really matter - the main thing is as long as your FS and nurse are happy with them.
Paula - not long now till you can see Tiana again, very exciting! Fingers crossed you get better pics than we did, Chicklet was just so stubborn and facing my back the whole time!
LondonMiss - the list is looking good, won't be too much longer before you hand it over! While I think of it, are you still knitting? I was thinking about LTTTC days and I thought I had a memory of you knitting something...
Hello to everyone else, hope you're all cooking along nicely.
I'm at home today with the heater cranked up and a hot chocolate and I don't think i'll be venturing out of the house as it's really not a very nice day out there. I've just booked myself a pregnancy massage on Wednesday and this time it's at a day spa that has a proper pregnancy table with a special holllow for my belly so I can lie flat, so excited!!
-
Oh my goodness those words are sending a shiver down my spine, a massage table with a hole in it... lying on your front... oh lovely lucky you
ha ha Lise - have been v slack on that front. But you have reminded me and I shall do some tonight! The amount of TV I've been watching recently, I really ought to have knitted a scarf for everyone in the country!!!
I've read a new book (Better Guide to Birth and Bonding) and whilst some of it was really good and things I'll remember (zinc stops PND etc and some of the techniques for birthing without pain relief if you can) some of it had me spitting. It says for example that Queen Victoria was the first woman to have chloroform (total rubbish, she did make it socially acceptable but wasn't the first) and it has lots of dietary advice that they don't also say 'check with your doctor before taking'. Stuff like that bothers me, because if you think it's wrong in one place, how can you rely on the rest of the information?
-
Oh, just thought of what I came on to ask you Lise/ Mitf/ Seph - are you on the raspberry tea yet? When do you start to take it (if indeed you are doing?). Have you heard anything bad about taking nettle tea? This book recommends it but as above, I thought I'd ask someone else first....
(I've decided that I'm not eating well enough hence the sudden interest/panic in nutrition) Bit worried child will come out as a milk and cookies chocolate bar
-
Yes, one hour of bliss, so looking forward to it! And I'm off now for a pedi so my disgusting heels don't put me to shame - I want to spend my belly down time relaxing not stressing about what the masseuse thinks of my feet!!
Not taking rasberry leaf and probably won't. I'm a terrible old fuss pot when it comes to food and drink - I don't like ANY tea so thnk I'll avoid it. I'm relying on my acupuncturist to speed things along but she won't start using the different points until 37 weeks so still ages away... Haven't heard anything about nettle tea, will have to google it. And your milk and cookies chocolate baby will match my chocolate baby perfectly ;) Though I have to admit mine will be a Nestle milk choc bits baby:redface:

Sonya, welcome! I hear you about the sore bottom bit. I was told by my FS to get onto an iron supplement, and therefore the associated constipation that flows. But I drink heaps of water anyway and mum had brought me round a home-grown pawpaw - and needless to say, I don't need to say anymore!
KitKat, my jail break was much fun, thanks for asking. The scariest part was my mum (72 in September) pushing me around in a wheelchair (37) at a speed of knots. I swear I thought I was going to hit the glass doors of the shopping centre as she showed no signs of slowing down anywhere. But it was really nice to get out, although I was very tired after just a couple of hours. The book What to expect when you're expecting I thought was great. The one I borrowed from the library had been revised for Australia and NZ, so I don't know if you want that one or the American version?
Lise, how was your family get-together? I am sure the food was great. So unfair when everyone is drinking around you, although I'm under strict doctors orders to have a glass of wine at lunch and a glass of wine at dinner. It's the only thing he's prescribed that is the least bit nice, but I worry about the bubs so only have one small glass at dinner. But it's hard when mum and my DH get onto the good bottles - and I mean bottles - and I think, "Well, thank you for your support." It's all meant to relax the uterus due to my situation. Your pregnancy massage sounds like it's going to be bliss.
Renee, happy belated birthday for yesterday! Good to hear that your morning sickness is starting to abate!
Hi Leabie and welcome! When is your next acupuncture appointment?
Paula, a 4D scan sounds so exciting! Not many days to go now.
AFM, apparently my private health insurance does cover me for everything - at least the lovely lady in the Medibank Private office said so. Because I am paranoid, though, I am going to call them (once we get a home phone line connected; bloody Telstra) and double-check. I have an underactive thyroid, too, and am a bit peeved because I called my endo as soon as I found out I had a BFP and she told me to up the dose, but now it's gone a bit low so she's told me to go back to what I was and have it checked in two weeks again. Aaaagh! Still, it's great that I can call her mobile and she gets back to me straightaway. You lovely ladies are my connection to the outside world ATM and it's great to be able to log on briefly and chat to everyone, so thank you!
Oh, almost forgot: I need to ask some advice about nuchal scans. You can get them done from 11 to 13 weeks and yet for some reason the date my FS gave me would be almost right on 13 weeks. Because of my age (37) I have an increased risk of Downs. When have other ladies who have chosen to have this scan done, had it done? Thanks in advance!

hi all i pop in time to time and read what your all up to. As a LTer can you please also add me to the list?
Due date is 19/08/10
Thanks xx
