Only three times a day? I seem to be eating a chocolate biscuit every three minutes...
Hi girls!
just popping my head in to send you all some :bellyrubs:
Hope you are all good!
Hee, hee, hee. Oh you girls are very funny. I need a good laugh. I'm not allowed to have sex for the first 12 weeks - doctors orders - not that I have ANY libido. But the insensitive comment from DH the other day was "We're not having sex for the next nine months, are we?" I mean, as if it's going to kill them! Honestly, if they were the ones responsible for procreation, the human race would have been extinct years ago I reckon :)
Lise~ Did i hear you utter my husbands EXACT words.....sex,whats that? hahaha....i hear that ALL the time from him.
Off to antenatal class now.Tonight we are Practicing breast feeding..hmmmm.Not sure how thats gonna work. The men are being separated for a 'guys only' class.Even more intriguing.
xx
we did that last week in antenatal, I dropped the doll whilst breast feeding and laughed (nervously, honestly) and everyone looked at me like I was a child killer and wondered when to start ringing Social Services to dob me in...
Hey BOC, love the photos of JD, he's getting so big, and what a cheeky grin!!
Sorry for scaring you Wantbaby by echoing your DH!
Brunette - it's funny, in my house I'M the one hassling DH and he's the reluctant one. Well he doesn't get a choice from next week onwards as i've decided that from 37 weeks i'll be doing everything I can do bring on labour...!
I haven't had the breastfeeding workshop yet, that's next week for me. I'm going to feel like a right goose as I don't have a life sized doll to bring so it will have to be a teddy for me
OOOOH MINXINGTON! Game on in your house!!! We wake up to ABC Classic FM and the music was Prokoviev's Romeo and Juliet - it's really pounding dramatic rum-ti-tum music, even if you didn't know it, most people know the tune. Anyway, I was cuddling up to DH when it came on and was sort of halfheartedly rubbing his back, when he pointed out that I was basically beating him in time to the music.... not quite as romantic as I had planned ha ha ha
(ps at my antenatal they provided the doll.... are you sure you need to take one?!)
I know the tune, how funny!! Oh we're ultra romantic in our house - DH has started hugging my from a side on position as he reckons it's too hard with my belly in the way ;)
Yes, we have been asked to bring something along (if possible) so I might just have to say I forgot as I really don't want to breastfeed a teddy bear, even if it's good practice for positioning!
I'm lucky to get a hug these days from DH as feels poorly done by because he's got to work full time and then come home and be nagged by me to do the backyard (all dirt and no turf yet; plus need small retaining wall built) or put things away in the garage so that finally after about 4 weeks I can park my car in the flaming garage! Yet he still expects me to be in the mood to take care of his needs. I told him to find some vaseline! Charming, aren't I?
Lise, I clicked on your facebook link. It's great to have a photo of when you're so far along for keepsake. You look great and very healthy. I can't imagine your DH having any problems with your plans now that you're 37 weeks and decided to bring things forward :) Is it a furphy as well that spicy foods ie curry etc also help to bring on labour?
These antenatal classes sound interesting. Londonmiss, you made me laugh with everyone turning around to look at you when you dropped the doll! I think I'll struggle to get my DH to attend as he already has three daughters but I will be pushing! Lise, I think bringing a teddy bear along will be a great laugh.
Hello to all the other lovely ladies out there, too!
So not at all pregnancy related, but i'm very excited to report a win against Country Road today! Now i'm a bit of a handbag addict and have many many bags, a number of which come from Country Road. The handle of my absolute favourite handbag broke a few weeks ago and I took it back to CR to ask them to fix it - they said they'd take it to their repair person and let me know. Didn't hear anything so went in today only to be told that because it's over 12 months old it's considered usual wear and tear and they weren't going to do anything about it. I got a little cross at this and (I don't THINK I was rude!!) said that I had many handbags which I rotate, and all my CR bags have broken handles and that I wouldn't be buying any more (yeah right!!!). She reiterated her 'wear and tear' policy and I reiterated that I have MANY handbags and that I certainly don't use the same one all the time, and that I would not be buying another one as they obviously don't last. She finally gave in and offered to have it fixed which I gratefully accepted. So yay for me :)
Apologies if you don't care about handbags at all but as you can see i'm a tad excited!
Brunette - tell DH he'd better get used to it, hehehe...
Oh I am sooo lucky, my DH doesn't even mention the lack of sex. He does just about everything he can to help me without a word of complaint given how much he works as well. I am so grateful because I've been hit with the tired stick very suddenly and it's all gotten just so much harder to move lol.
Finally got over the darn cold that layed me flat for 4 days, only to get whacked with the stick, glad I didn't think pregnancy was all sunshine and lollipops!!
I can't believe how close some of you are to the end, which is very exciting... I can't wait to make it to the scan next week really.. still seems so darn far away.
I promise personals again, but I'm just useless atm. So very sorry everyone.
S'rose, you are soooo lucky. Mine mentioned it again this morning - you know, are we ever going to ... Because I've had a difficult start to my PG with modified bed rest and docs orders of no sex till at least week 12, it's not like I don't have a good excuse/reason. But I must admit to still being scared about anything damaging the bubs after such a scary start so we'll see. Honestly, you'd think it would fall off if not used or something!
Your DH sounds wonderful. How long till your first scan? Will DH be with you?
Hi Ladies,
I'm new to this group. I got my BFP on Thursday with a Hcg of 300 and then confirmed on Sunday when it went up to 2,000. We were thrilled. DH and I are now scared though as last night I had cramping stronger than usual that lasted about half an hour. I went to the toilet to pee and there was quite a smear of red blood on the paper when I wiped, like AF had arrived. (Sorry if TMI) It pretty much stopped at that and I haven't had cramps or bleeding since. We drove to the clinic this morning for another Hcg/ progesterone check and are waiting for results. I'm so scared that our pregnancy has ended early. Has anyone else experience bleeding in the early stages. I am now 20 days post transfer.
Maggie
Maggie, I had a similar thing with the blood (like light AF) at 14dpo and again at 15dpo (but brown this time). I also had some mild cramping from about a week before that until a couple of days after. I've had some more brown spotting since. Your hcg numbers are great, so FX everything is still on track and it's just from your little bean settling in.
Hello Maggie. I hope the result goes ok, I didn't have any but plenty of people did in this list. Go back and read this one and perhaps the one before for further encouragement... I really hope all is well and it was just a temporary settling thing in. But congratulations anyway, and remember you are pregnant until proven otherwise. Good luck x
Lise - well done on the handbag win! I can't stand stupid excuses like that, a handbag ought to last way longer than that unless you actually knit it yourself out of pasta.
Just come back from my 33 week midwife appt (where hilariously I found 4 people from my antenatal class, its the most social thing I've been to in weeks!), and promptly had a nose bleed which is slightly curious. I came back most of the way in a taxi and then stopped off in a cafe, and studied. And I'm afraid I had 4 cups of tea, one water, a mushroom croque with salad, and finished it up with three macaroons (two coffee and one orange) but lets pretend that two were for me and one for the baby.... And then I walked all the way home with some tulips in the sunshine.. happy. Hope you are all well.
Welcome, Maggie. As LondonMiss says, lots of us in this thread have had bleeding - red and brown - throughout. I had about 3 anxiety-free days since getting my BFP and from then on I had bleeding and many scans and FS visits. Basically been ordered on home/modified bed rest till week 12. It is tough but I will be week 11 this Friday - hard to believe. Some women I know (my first cousin is one) have spotting/bleeding throughout their entire PG. I know how scary it is, but as Juniper says your Hcg levels are really great. I won't say "try not to worry" because I know how easy it is for others to say that and how hard it is for the individual going through the worry/concern to simply not worry, esp when most of us here have been TTC for quite a while.
LondonMiss, I have a question for you given the whole listeria discussion earlier and your aunt etc. I have been literally craving a pizza from this pizza cafe in Redcliffe since before I was pregnant. I think the family will be going there for my dad's birthday relatively soon. The pizza I adore has fetta and pepperoni on it (as well as olives, chili, basil, tomato - oh I am salivating now) but it comes out obviously well and truly cooked. Do you reckon it would be okay? Sorry, not trying to put you in the position of a doctor now, but I figure if it's totally cooked .... should be fine; yes?
Hmmm - that's an interesting question. I suppose pizza toppings are warmed-up-previously-cooked-things, rather than actually cooked freshly if you know what I mean so I'm not sure. I'm a v strict veggie so I'm not sure I'd take my own advice on pepperoni, but I'd probably be a bit cautious on that. Simply because I am not sure it would actually be cooked, as opposed to just hot. However, I have been classifying feta as a hard cheese and eating it the whole time, although to be balanced must add that Lise has been told its a soft cheese, and if you take that advice, I'd say only eat it if it's hot.
Sorry, re-reading that, I don't think that's terrifically helpful, and it depends rather on the quality of the venue. My cousin who also does the same job as my auntie (cooking for them is a nightmare) always goes onto her council website before she goes out for dinner - God my family are exciting aren't they - and you can check out (in the UK anyway but I'm sure its the same here) what the last food hygeine inspector found. If its a dire tale of food being left out of the fridge, ****roaches and rats, then I'd stick to bread sticks : )
wantbaby#2 how did you class go? Are you doing them thorugh St George Private? We start our next week. Oh i cant wait!!!!!
lise im with you. Sometimes im the one asking for it. Not usually the case but DH gets worried that it might affect bub in some way and so is a little reluctant at times too. LOL at bf a teddy. Would definitely be a good laugh. Well done on the win against CR!
Sonya glad to hear your cold has cleared. I can just imagine how anxious you must be for your appointment. I will be asking my obs on Tuesday when and if i get another scan. I love scans.
Maggie CONGRATULATIONS on you BFP! I have everything crossed for you. Hope you come back to us later with some wonderful news.
LondonMiss sounds like a wonderful day indeed. Lucky you. However with all that tea and water, you might be getting very friendly with the toilet this arvo.. haha.
Brunette throughout my whole pregnancy i have been of the belief that if you really really feel like something, as you do with the pizza, you should not deprive yourself and just have it. Obviously those no no foods should be avoided in the sense of not eating them everyday but it's an old wives tale that you do more harm than good by depriving yourself of a craving. So personally i would go out and enjoy it!
Have been feeling lots of movement and pains down low, almost like she is grinding on my bones in my pubic region (if that makes any sense) so wondering if she is trying to get into position. I realise its still early but i cant think of what else it would be. Looking forward to Obs appointment on Tuesday and then our first antenatal class next Thursday!
Hi ladies,
Maggie - welcome on board! Sorry to hear you're experiencing some bleeding that's making you anxious, I have no experience with that so can only echo what the others have said already xx
Brunette - regarding the feta, most websites say it's okay to eat higher risk cheeses if they're cooked thoroughly and served hot, but also depends on how it was sourced and packaged. So i'd eat feta on a pizza i'd cooked myself and I bought individually packaged, but I wouldn't eat feta sitting in a deli if that makes sense?
S'rose - hope you're feeling a bit better soon.
I'm a bit tired and lazy at the moment myself, I really need some motivation to get out of the house and do something. I'm a bit contrary though - i'm going out to dinner and the movies tonight (to see SATC2 as it's my SIL's birthday and she's a mad fan!) but I don't like some of the other girls who are going along and am tempted to cancel. Very silly of me - i'd only stay at home and feel sorry for myself for having no life!!
Lise - there is no symbol to indicate a "kick up the bum" but here's one! Even if they are the most irritating people in the world, if you are in a cinema it doesn't matter!!! I'm dying to see it and don't have tickets yet, so I'm jealous, you see : )
Maggie~ Congrats!!! Your numbers look great! As for the spotting i had really, really light pink discharge at 5 weeks 5 days then brown at 8 weeks. My numbers were high 400 at 16 dpo.As you can see by my ticker im now 31 weeks pg.Could just be implantation bleed.I also had cramping from the minute of transfer until about 16 weeks on and off.(only mild though).Hope this helps you to relax.:)
Londonmiss~ Sounds like a lovely day..apart from the nosebleed.(They are normal so dont worry too much.My books say its normal) Ive had a bloody mucus from my nose..eeww...the whole pregnancy.
Lise~ The good thing about seeing a movie is that you dont have to talk to anyone so im hoping you go and enjoy yourself. You will be fine. :)
Paula~ Yes we did our classes through SGP.Have to say its more of a social thing.Didnt really learn more than what the books say, unfortunately. The best bit was the snacks provided.Tim Tams,Fruit salad, lemon tarts,tea,juice,biscuits.. yummy. You should enjoy it more as its your first bub.I kinda knew most of it but went so that DH could learn which i have to say,he has learnt quite a lot.
As for me,i have woken with the WORST pain in my back on one side.Just under my bra strap.I must have slept in a weird position. It kills.
Bub is moving around and kicking. It makes me feel like a foot or knee is about to tear through my belly button. She pushes it out so far its like a giant golfball. It scares me.I have to push her back down gently.Having tummy muscles that separated and never healed makes bumps feel they are going to rip me open.Kind freaky!..Am wishing monday would hurry up and come around so that i can get some answers regarding bubs size.Im getting impatient now,BUT have been keeping myself busy, shopping on ebay for nursery items. The nursery is well under way,but she will be in our room in her bassinette until 4 months anyhow.
Hello to everyone else, and hoping all is well.x
Would it be okay to have a little vent here? I can't complain to anyone IRL aside from DH and he isn't answering my messages because he's in a meeting.
I'm sooooo tired! I've been sitting at my desk struggling to stay awake since just before 1pm (3 hours). I almost did fall asleep during the teleconference I had this afternoon because the pictures didn't come through for some reason so I had nothing to look at to keep my mind busy. Even the thought of curling up on the hard floor seems enticing...
Phew! Thanks. I feel better now. I may actually be able to stay awake until DH picks me up. ;) In spite of desperately wishing I could have a sleep in the middle of every day, I am somewhat reassured by being so tired. Lol, yesterday I lay down to do my afternoon pessary at 4pm and the next thing I knew it was 6.30pm...
I was just the same. I recommend leaving something like an innocuous looking cardigan in the stationary cupboard at work (if you have one) that you can fold up as a pillow, and a sign that says, please come back in ten mins, lstick it up, ock the door from the inside and have at least 10 mins kip : )
Hi all i know i dont post in here much and you are all so busy! i will try to go back and read some so i am up to date where everyone is at
Juniper i love your ticker so cute, but i like all the tickers from the bump!! yours was never there when i got mine so so cute! and makes me hungry lol
will post again when im up to date.
Lol LondonMiss, to be honest, something like that crossed my mind. I actually have a little cushion here from when I had a sore back a few months back. The problem is that the wall between my office and the hallway is glass. The only part of this entire office that can be closed off without anyone seeing in is the regional manager's office at the end of the hall... I've even considered going up to the GP's office upstairs and seeing if I could use one of their beds. But I didn't think they'd be impressed since I'm not a patient of theirs... ;)
Actually, the more I think about it, when you put this together with the nausea I'm already getting, I suspect I'll be telling work about this pg early and arranging to work from home for a while. I just don't want to do anything before Friday's repeat beta and jinx it.
LISE... omg hun ,it was so nice to see a pic of you hun :D and just let me say how beautiful your looking,pg really suits you my darling girl and congrats on 36 weeks ,not long for you now my friens.
MAGGI... im not to sure if we really no each other yet hun ,but a huge hello and a big welcome to the pg thread i wish you all the very best and hope your b/t comes back today with awsom numbers.ill be croosing all fingers for you.
LM... well hun ,thanks so much for thinking of me in your post the other day and yep my girls is getting big now :D and very cheeky.life is wonderful with her in it,shes the love of our lives and keeps us very busy, its a full time job hun but wouldnt swap it for anything..im in love lol..
SROSE... well its just so wonderful to see you here hun ,every time i see your new little ticker i get all goosbumpy lol..
PAULA... your going great there hun,on the home stretch now thats for sure and i just love your little pink bundles name,so beautiful.
ans alsao a big hello to you all girls if i did a perssi for you all i could be here all day ..WANTBABY...LOULA...BRUNETT..BOC...KITKAT omg anyone ive missed im very sorry ,i cant think but belly rubs to you all..
Please excuse mini rant... my neighbour runs a restaurant and is here from about 3 until opening at 5. I don't know how many times I have to say "if i have a nap its in the afternoon" and she's always turning up and then spends the whole visit apologising for waking me up. Am I being unreasonable here, or would that not lead a lpgical person to think that between 3 and 5 might be napping time, and to leave me alone between those times, even if it is convenient for her? I love her to bits and she's only looking after me because DH is away for a week, but right at this moment, it doesn't feel like care! it feels like being pestered! GRRRRRRRRRRRR
Thanks to LondonMiss, Lise and Paula re advice on pizza bought as opposed to eating it out.
LondonMiss, I agree with Smithy: definitely lock the door next time and maybe put in ear plugs; you do need your sleep. I've been waking up at 2 in the morning (pessary time; lucky me) and being able to get back to sleep by 4, but after that it's just tossing and turning till I get out of bed at about 5ish. So if I don't have a sleep in the pm (which I often don't get due to people turning up to do quotes or installs for new house) I am an extra grumpy moody so and so!
Lise, let us know what you think of SATC2, if you go. It goes for almost 3 hours! This Friday for my jailbreak I am thinking of getting mum to take me to a movie, but she hates SATC. If we don't see that, I was thinking of the movie Harry Brown. Only 110 mins.
Wantbaby2, Not long to go now till Monday. It's good you're keeping busy. Plus you've done all you can to help by eating KFC etc; you lucky duck :)
Paula, youch, that sounds very painful with all that grinding below. Will you get a scan at your obs appt Tuesday to see if Tiana is moving into position?
Hi and belly rubs to everyone else!
Hi Ladies,
Thanks for your support. My Hcg came back today showing nearly 6,000. As the bleeding stopped pretty much right after it started the nurses said it was just one of those things and don't really have an explanation for it. I guess we'll know more when we have the first scan next week.
I am so run down at the moment- I have two cold sores (very painful) I've had the last two days off work and I've just been sleeping. Don't know how I'll cope when I go back to work tomorrow.
Maggie
Maggie - those are wonderful figures, congratulations and welcome. Let me know when you have a due date and I'll put you on the Big Bellies List.
Diverging slightly from said bellies, but I saw Robin Hood and that was rather silly fun, but a friend dragged me to see Prince of Persia which I was rolling my eyes about and thought it was going to be awful, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, and not just because Jake Gyllenhal (sp?) looks as fit as a butchers dog (which lets be honest, he does. Arms, is all I'll draw your attention to). so I'd see that, unless you are after something art house and clever. I'm debating going to see Letter to Juliet tomorrow, which the ads make look awful, but the trailer was rather good. And I think I'd go just for the scenery anyway. There are worse ways to spend a wet Friday afternoon!! Just checked and its not on anymore, so my options are Wog Boy2 and Back up plan. Any opinions? I'm pretty sure I'd rather put my arm in a blender than see WG2, but willing to persuaded if you all say its the funniest thing you've seen ever.
and we're waiting for your film review Lise!
Maggie - Congratulations and those new results are just wonderful. I wish I could just stay home and rest/sleep for the next few weeks. It's amazing how much work goes into growing a little miracle.
Brunette - You poor thing, that DH needs to sit down with the dr and be told flat out to drop the topic!! You must be so worried already without being pressured. My scan is next Monday night and DH will definitely be there. Despite being a CEO, he's made it to almost every appt throughout the AC journey. I am very very lucky. He's been quite cautious about the whole pregnancy so the scan might help him relax and enjoy it a bit more.
LondonMiss - Your outing and all those yummies consumed has made me hungry lol... And as for the neighbour - yep as Smithy said, get the sign out and don't answer that door!!
Paula - I can imagine how cool and reassuring scans are so hopefully I will get them often after this... but only for good reasons lol.
lise - we are all waiting for SATC2 review. Although atm, I worry about sleeping through it... DH will only go gold class lol and those chairs are comfy.
Wantbaby - That pain sounds awful, and I have to admit, the thought of separating muscles and baby bumps would make me very nervous too.
Juniper - A workmate of mine used to go and sleep in the car at lunch time every day to get through if that helps. And working from home, that sounds just divine. Comfy clothes and not having to look fabulous all the time. Hope that will work for you.
Me... tired stick really has struck and its kind of shocking really. I just didn't anticipate how really exhausting this growing a being gig is :)
Desperately waiting that first scan with DH so we can both feel more secure. Feeling really emotional now that I'm more tired.
What I would really like is to quit work now but that's not even remotely possible... But what a nice dream hey.
Sonya - do you have enough leave to take Tuesday and thursday afternoons off for a few weeks? Or leave early a couple of days a week? That might be enough to get you through. I had much more tiredness than sickness in the first trimester, and if its any consoltation, it completely and utterly stopped at the end of the first trimester, prob week 13/14. Not that stopped me having naps, but that was for laziness rather than urgent need!
Maggie, that's a great number! I can't wait to hear how your scan goes!
S'rose, when is your scan? I hope you don't have to wait too long. Unfortunately, DH drops me off on his way to work, but maybe if one of the company cars is sitting around I could sneak down to that? Hmmm, may try that if I get desperate. ;)
Lol, I've been "volunteered" to attend a meeting on the Gold Coast tomorrow afternoon on behalf of one of my coworkers who will be in Rockhampton at the time. I'm really hoping the other person attending with me (different area of expertise) is happy to drive, because I don't know how I'd go with an hour drive each way at that time of day at the moment and it's a bit far to get a cab... I don't think they'll be impressed if I yawn the whole way through either...
Hi ladies
Gosh I go to work for a couple of days and I have fallen way behind!!!
Maggie - Congrats and welcome, your numbers sound great! GL with your first scan.
Juniper - Hope you get someone to drive you, then you can sleep on the way! I have been tired but not as bad as it sounds you are. I have a different problem called nausea!!! It is 24/7 and is the pits. I say sleep whenever and wherever you can.
Londonmiss - I would pretend I was in such a deep sleep i didn't hear the door! Maybe you could give her an alternative time that she could come that would suit you? It is hard to say something when you know that their heart is in the right place.
s'rose- I hear you with the growing a baby thing! No one really can prepare you for how your body will react, people keep telling me 2nd trimester is much better I hope they are right.
Brunette - hows things? How'd your pizza go? I had pizza a couple of weeks ago and it really did not agree with me! I got really bad wind cramps and pains after i had eaten it, so i haven't been game to try it again! What has your doc said about your bed rest? Do you only have to wait till week 12?
wantbaby2 - shopping is a great stress reliever isn't it!!! GL for monday hope your scan goes well and bub is just the right size.
I know i'm really late on the sex topic but my DH has been great. I have been really apprehensive and wanted to wait till 12 weeks, i know that sounds silly and the doc told me that it won't hurt at all. We made a deal till 12 weeks, but i'm sure once our deal expires he will come collecting :D
Hi to lise, paula, sonya, Kitkat, missK, leabie and anyone i missed (sorry if i did):bellyrubs:to you all
The nausea is doing my head in. I have been to work this week which has been a struggle. Being a primary school teacher it is quite difficult to make a run for the loo if i need too!!!! The kids have been wonderful and have done me lots of drawings of me feeling better, which does make me feel better for a fraction of a second, they are priceless!!! I am counting down the next week and a half and praying that once i get to 12 weeks it will miraculously stop!! Sorry for whinging to you guys, it gives my DH a break!!
Hello everyone! I've been MIA for a week at least I think and again so much has happened in everyone's lives.
Firstly - :happyforyou: Big congratulations Juniper, I am so pleased your BT was positive. Sorry to hear though that you've been hit with the tiredness, I've been lucky to last past Masterchef lately!!
Also congratulations and welcome Maggie! A few of us that are early along in our pregnancy have had bleeding/spotting, but I'm sure with the proper care your FS will prescribe that everything will be a-okay for you and the bub (or bubs - is it only the one?)
Leabie - at my scan (6w3d) bub was 6.3mm so your 8.2mm blob sounds like it's a great size. I got my scan a bit earlier than the standard 7wk as I had some bleeding and was a blubbering mess wondering what was wrong. Prescription: no sex until 12 weeks - and Brunette I think it was your DH who said "we're not going to have sex for 9mths are we?" - that was the EXACT thing my DH said. After the early troubles I think we'll both probably be petrified anyway to DTD. What I can't understand is how there is a difference between having sex and having that dildo (I'm sure it's actually a highly sophisticated and technical ultrasound device) whacked up there and wiggled around.
Brunette, my pessaries are before bed and then an hour or so before getting up in the morning. However I'm not setting an alarm for the morning one, so I'm waking up to pee at about 2am, checking the time to make sure it's not 5am and time to 'pessary up'. Then I'm trying to go back to sleep, FAIL, then I finally nod off and wake up again to pee and it's around 3 or 4am so I just think bugger it and do the pessary then instead of getting up again at 5. It's really screwing around with me and I feel a bit like a zombie.
I hope you enjoy the next mad wheelchair outing with your Mum.
LondonMiss - I'd definitely be putting a sign on the front door even though your neighbour means well, you need your sleep otherwise next we'll hear your neighbour has ended up rolled up in rug and dumped in the Yarra!
Lise - the photo was great, I cannot wait to get a big belly on me! So envious of you, you look radiant!
Renee - not long now until you're out of your 1st trimester so hopefully your MS will reduce or stop altogether. :crossfingers:
AFM, still no MS. I went for a blood test that is needed as part of the NT scan (next Tuesday, ****ting myself) and the lady drawing the blood said that I'm one of the lucky ones, but there's a big part of me that wants to experience EVERYTHING being that I've wanted this pregnancy for so long. I'm just about out of the 1st trimester so figure that if I haven't had anything by now, I'm not getting it. A workmate's wife got her NT scan a few weeks ago but got the full blown 4D thingee with it - is that normal? I'm going to some digital imaging place to get it done, whereas I think they went through the hospital to get theirs done.
I hit 33 years yesterday, so DH took me for a lovely dinner in the city, whipped out a Pandora bracelet for me, and then when we got home he pulled out a cheesecake from the Cheesecake Shop that he had hidden in the fridge. This morning I have woken up with swollen glands, sore throat and a cough so happy birthday me :cold:
LondonMiss, sorry to be a pain but can I change my due date on your list? I thought 15th December which was working back to LMP but I asked FS why he had 19th Dec and he said that conception date is different with IVF and blah blah blah (he's hard to understand at the best of times). So EDD is Sunday 19th December, so I will hit my 12 week milestone this Sunday.
Glenny, KitKat, MissK, hope all is well and apologies if I have missed anyone.
Chrissy xx
Chrissy, I have a friend who had a 4D done recently (she's due next month). I think she said there's only 2 places in the Brisbane area who do them (or it might have been 3) and they were all southside. She had hers done at a place at Greenslopes and I think she said the package includes a pg and newborn photoshoot. If I understand correctly, it's not somewhere you get referred to by a doctor - you just book it yourself. I don't have any details, but can ask.
Renee, that doesn't sound fun. I've had some nausea already, but seems to be about once a day for just a little while and is manageable so far. That's so cute that the kids draw pictures to help you feel better. I hope it does stop very soon.
something for your ms. You'll need to eat several slices with a cup of tea and your feet up and DH doing the washing up for maximum benefit :D
Dutch Ginger and Almond Slice
260g plain flour, 220g caster sugar, 150g coarsely chopped glacé ginger, 80g blanched almonds, chopped, 1 egg, 185g butter melted, 2 tsp sugar for the topping
Preheat oven, grease a 20-30cm tin, extend paper up sides. Mix all ingredients except butter, then stir in butter. Press into tin, cook, put topping sugar on when cold.
It’s not cake, it’s MS reduction medicine :shhh:
My goodness! Behind again, I'm a shocker...
Maggie - Hi! :hello: Wonderful to see you in here, and to hear that the bleeding has stopped, & HCG is skyrocketing! What a relief for you. Hope you're feeling OK and your first day back at work isn't too exhausting - maybe you too can find ways to sneak in lunchtime naps?
Lise - hope you enjoyed the movie last night, and the girls weren't too painful. Had to laugh about DH watching out from next week on, you go girl! The funniest thing I've heard for inducing labour was to wear your best pair of knickers, as Murphy's Law dictates that that is when your waters will surely break... they added that this was not a proven fact - no, really?!
LondonMiss - I'm with all the others - lock the door and sleep! You've sooo made me want to go and see Prince of Persia, I lerve Jake Gyllenhal... :D That recipe looks divine too, I'm gonna have to make it.
Brunette - can't believe its 11 weeks already, only 1 more week of house arrest  How exciting for you! Hope you're feeling OK.
Juniper - got :crossfingers: for your BT tomorrow, but by the way your tiredness sounds, that bub is going great guns! Would another alternative for work be to see if you can start later in the mornings and have a sleep in? I've been finding that if I sleep in, I can get away without a nana nap during the day. Just a thought. Or sleeping in a work car sounds good! I'd be sleeping in that car trip to the GC too...
Wantbaby - glad that Monday is not far off for you now, hoping it'll be great news for you! Just a question about your tummy - did the muscle separation happen before pg, or during? Sounds painful, what you're going through.
Loula - hope you're feeling good! There are a few ladies getting towards the pointy end of things, how exciting for you all!
S'rose - when is your scan? Hope its really soon so you can put your mind at ease. Hope your tiredness isn't too overwhelming.
CK77 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY for yesterday! DH sounds like a sweetie. So sorry that you've woken up with a cold this morning though... not fair! Thanks for your advice on the sizing, am feeling more confident now (had another scan yesterday - see below). You made me laugh about the ultrasound "dildo" - thats excactly what I called it in my head. DH's eyes almost popped out of his head when he saw it for the first time last week :o PS your new due date is my DH's b'day - they're lovely people, those 19/12ers!
KitKat - glad your scan went well! Thats great news.
Glenny, MissK - :hello: hope you're well! Sorry and a big hi to anyone I've missed.
AFM - had my first OB appointment yesterday, what a whirlwind! But I like him and he seems very knowledgeable (sp?), quite serious, but I guess you don't want a comedian around while you're trying to get a baby out of you?! Had another scan (woohoo) and the little chickpea is now 17mm, right on target for my due date. Heartbeat was 179, which I was very relieved to see, as it looked on the slowish side last week. So, YAY  everything is going well, just tiredness, and a bit of MS in the last couple of days. The next hurdle is an early GTT, I hate those things. Feeling more confident that the chickpea will stick, I'm even going to get some PG books from my girlfriend tonight! Ooh-aah!
Have a great day everyone, sorry for the long post!
