Morning Ladies,
Lise – I hope things some action started for you last night and you will be sharing the good news soon. xo
Leabie – I am not that organised. A number of ladies in my due date group have gone early and I had a mild stress last night. Decided I need to stop procrastinating and get on to finishing a few chores today!
Brunette – Glad to hear that everything is going well and you are managing a couple of days back at work. I had similar tummy pains early on in my pregnancy. It is just your uterus and inner tummy muscles stretching…. with two precious bundles you must be stretching at a quicker rate too! Unfortunately the belly starring won’t stop either. The bigger you get the more people stare. Every time I go to the shops people have a good old gawk…. I think they are just curious and have nothing better to do. I just try and ignore them.
Wishes – I hope you are well and managing time to relax before the bub comes. Sounds like you are getting really organised and have done a lot of shopping. I feel like we have more shopping to do but it is hard not knowing what we are having… we have bought barely any clothes. We have enough onesies for a few weeks and will wait and see what clothes and things family give us when bubs is born and then head out on a little shopping spree once we have recuperated.
Paula – I have loved the new movements and poking in these last few months. Have you experienced the hiccups yet? That is a truly weird but amazing and lovely experience all at the same time.
LondonMiss – yeah or the new laptop. Nothing like a new toy to play with! Also I love your hot air balloon analogy…. Great way to explain what’s going on down there.
AFM – I am wishing I had a crystal ball right about now….. it would be so nice to know what day this baby is going to come so I can plan for it. I have a feeling it won’t be long… but how long – a day, or 3, or a week…. The suspense is killing me. I have been having a lot of Braxton hicks and period like cramps from my cervix starting to stretch over the last few weeks… so I guess at least I know my body is starting to get ready – although every time it happens lately it makes me think is this it…… although I haven’t lost any of my plug yet.
It is so hard to plan for anything at the moment. People keep asking me to do lunch or things before bub arrives and the standard response is sure… as long as I am not having a baby that day! My next midwife appointment is Friday so I guess I will find out more then…. In the mean time I need to get onto finalising the bubs room and packing the babies bag…
Big hello and belly rubs to everyone else xo

Mitf - hope the chores are going along smoothly, it would be good to feel as organised as possible, I imagine - hopefully I'll be organised when the time comes!
Brunette - I've been having those weird pains too, they freaked me out at first, good to hear they're just part of the process. I actually thought the remaining cysts on my ovaries might've been causing it, but found out today the cysts are gone. As for feeling self-conscious about your tummy, people are a bit insensitive / have no clue sometimes, do they? I hope they get over it soon, and leave you be.
LondonMiss - so very exciting about your new laptop! Which brand did you get? Thanks for the hot air balloon analogy! Loved it.
Lise - do you have to wait til Friday to see the acupuncturist?! Hopefully you won't make it to the next OB appointment, but if you do, fingers crossed he'll get the ball rolling, so to speak!
Paula - good to hear that wriggly Tiana is letting you know she's there! So looking forward to actually feeling the baby move, instead of hanging out for each ultrasound.
Wishes - hope the organisation is coming along nicely. That sounds like a great plan, watching telly for the last couple of weeks - nice and relaxing.
Wantbaby2 - can't believe that people say things like that to you about your belly. Its probably a bit rude to punch them in the head, isn't it? That's what I'd feel like doing though ;)
Loula, CK77, KitKat, Renee, glenny_c , Lairdoz, Juniper and everyone I've missed - hello! :hello: Hope you're all well and happy.
AFM - I'm on cloud 9 today, just had our nuchal scan (its always so lovely to see the baby, and see its still there!), and the doc just rang with results - our risk dropped from 1:199 to 1:2700! So excited, I would've been happy with 1:400... DH and I were blown away seeing the bub wriggle around and wave at us, it was magical. Size is still bang on target too, just one big relief, really! Happy days. Now we can REALLY start telling people!
-
Leabie~ CONGRATS on the results.Thats wonderful news.Enjoy sharing your news. Its so much fun telling people.
Re:my tummy comments..yes my husband has the same idea as you...to hit people who are rude.Haha.My mum suggested i get a tshirt made with the 'bird' on it..and not the chirping type of bird..LOL.She notices the stares when we are shopping together and gets annoyed too.
Mitf~ The braxton hicks hurt.I dont know why books say they are painless because mine have always felt like period cramps. My mum said when she was having my brother and i,that she thought they hurt too. Mine have been getting more frequent and more uncomfortable over the past 3-4 weeks. As long as they dont mean anything more as i am quite happy waiting for my c section in 3 weeks.Im prepared for 23rd July...any earlier,id freak! Hoping to hear baby news from you soon.x
-
Commenting on their non pregnant bellies works for me, soon shuts them up. Don't see why parts of my body are fair game for totally unqualified and judgemental discussion and not theirs.
-
Thanks for the explanation on the stretching, Londonmiss. And for your funny comments, which just cracked me up! Thanks to the other ladies who also posted about the issue.
I haven't had any movement/flutters yet, and on another post a lot of ladies at my stage of PG reported feeling movement. It's making me start to worry. I still have really sore boobs but my next scan is still about a month away. I guess in a way I was spoilt having been through IVF and having problems early on, in that I had weekly scans, then fortnightly scans. At my last scan the doc didn't want to see me till a month! So the worry begins anew.
Lise, I'm hoping no news from you is good news and that you're in hospital right now :)
Leabie, brilliant news on your nuchal scan results. You must be over the moon. Isn't it amazing to see your baby? Ours waved at us and sucked their thumbs!
MITF - Braxton hicks pains sound scary. Is this your first PG? If so, it's hard to know what to expect, hey? Not long to go now!
Wantbaby2 - Only 3 weeks to go! Wow. I think I'll be having a c-section, too; my FS has already mentioned and recommended it. The only thing I worry about is not being able to do everything straightaway after the birth. My personality is to get in and do everything. I don't worry about missing out on labour or anything like that. I am going to follow doctor's orders and do what is best for the twins, especially given my age, twins and the horrible start I've had to this PG.
Hi to those ladies I've missed and :bellyrubs: to all. I'm too lazy to go back now and have a look at the previous page  Hope you are all travelling well.
-
Brunette - unfortunately i'm still here with not a labour sign in sight! I didn't feel any movement until 17 weeks which is normal, you generally only feel them earlier if it's your second + pregnancy, so I wouldn't worry about not feeling anything yet, though hope you do soon!
Leabie - so glad your scan went well and you can start telling people  It's so much fun, we really enjoyed people's reactions!
Mitf - i'm with you on the crystal ball, I actually think i'd be a lot calmer if I knew when it was going to happen, even it was 10 past my due date at least I wouldn't wonder every second of every day if it was about to happen!!
LondonMiss - yay on the new laptop, new toys are so much fun aren't they?! And hehehe on the image of me eating pineapple and doing all those other things at the same time - could be interesting indeed to try... ;)
Wantbaby - a friend of mine just had her second caesar and actually found it easier than the first, so fingers crossed this happens for you also.
AFM - well i've scheduled an appointment with my acupuncturist for Friday afternoon with the intention of her doing an induction session, in anticipation that i'll be booked in for one early next week. I see my OB on Friday morning, and last week she said we'll talk inductions this week. Unlike some other OBs mine is very reluctant to do any interventions unless necessary, which is a good thing I suppose, it's just that i'm impatient! And another friend of mine, due the same day, is being induced tomorrow because her OB doesn't like anyone going over, so they're all different.
Anyway, am very much hoping the acupuncture induction works and I have some happy news to share on Saturday. If you don't hear from me after that it's because it didn't work and i'm too depressed to log on and talk to anyone - believe me, i'll be posting happy news as soon as I possibly can!!
-
Hi Ladies,
I have been watching in here, but I have had awful asthma which is keeping me fairly bedridden (as much as you can be with a 14 month-old). I am hoping Lise that your little one arrives very soon and that the acupuncture works!!
I will get back to persies hopefully within a week as I have new drugs (OK for pregnancy of course!) which I just started.
I have my scan for the heartbeat next Monday morning so will keep you ladies posted.
Hi to everyone, and thanks so much for the lovely welcome. I hope those due very soon get to meet their happy and healthy babies VERY soon!
xx
-
Lise - a friend from antenatal has just sent me a 22 page epic on acupressure points that induce labour that you might like to use to 'top up' your acupuncture? If you (or indeed anyone else) wants to PM me your email address, I'll send it through. I'm off for a bath - I think I'm becoming not only nocturnal but amphibious as well.... our water bill is going to be ENORMOUS!!!
-
Hi ladies,
I thought I'd introduce myself. I've just gotten a BFP after my first cycle of IVF. I feel kind of guilty I fell on my first cycle as so many ladies here and in the other forum have been waiting so much longer than me. I think I'm really disorientated, like I'm having an out of body experience, when I wake up I will find I just dreamt that I'm UTD.
I'm really nervous about my scan in 2 weeks. I don't even have any pregnancy symptoms. The only thing I have is a permanent pain in the stomach, not nausea, frequent urination or anything. I don't even have overly sore (.)(.) unless I prod them (TTC habit).
-
Lise - sorry to hear you are still with us. When you hadn't posted earlier in the day I thought you might have gone into labour overnight. Fingers crossed things go well at your OB visit / acupuncture session.
Lisa B - congratulations on your BFP and you certainly don't have 2 feel guilty about getting pregnant on your first IVF. Everyone has there own journey and whits important is the end result. I had a pretty cruisey first trimester with out MS…. no signs is not necessarily a bad sign. Just try and stay positive and enjoy the moment. GL with your scan in a couple of weeks.
Laridoz - sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. I hope you are back on your feet soon.
Leabie - glad to hear your scan went well and you got such great results. Enjoy telling everyone the news. It makes it so much more real, I remember being on a high for a good couple of weeks!
Brunette - yes this is my first pregnancy. Braxton hicks are different for everyone but I wouldn't say they are scary or generally painful. I have been having them right through out my third trimester and in the upper belly they don't hurt at all. Sometimes I don't even realise I am having them, other times it just feels like someone blew some extra air into my belly and it becomes really tight before releasing again. It is only in the last 2-3 weeks I have started having lower cramps, and this is my cervix starting to thin out. It feels like period pain and while it can be a little bit uncomfortable it is not really painful and doesn't last long. I know a number of other ladies that have experience similar things late in their pregnancy but then other say they didn't feel anything at all. I think what gets me is more the unknown...... not knowing what to expect with labour so then when the lower pains linger a little I can't help but think is this the start of it... but then 5 or so minutes later it goes away and back to normal. Also, I don't think I felt the baby kick till I was about 21 weeks, a few weeks prior to that I felt a quickening which I though might be the baby but it is hard to know if you are imagining it. They say you feel the baby much earlier 2nd time round because you know what to expect.
Wantababy2 - as I was just explaining to Brunette my Braxton hicks didn't hurt so much earlier on and have only started to hurt lately.... but then I have a girlfriend who had a baby a couple of months ago that recons she had none... either that or she didn't even realise she was having them.. I guess everyone is different. It is great that you have a date for your c-section. I wish I could pencil in my diary a definitive date... Fingers crossed that things won't happen early and you can hold out to 24th.
-
Hi ladies,
Lise - Hoping that you won't be with us much longer!! The acupuncture sounds promising (a lot more natural than a drs inducement)!!
Lisa B - congratulations, and on your first go - that is GREAT!! Definately don't feel guilty, there are quite a few who do fall on the first round. I fell on my first FET after the first fresh cycle. So, it is still classified (when the FS does their statistics) as falling on the first cycle. I wouldn't worry about no signs, lots of people don't get any. I agree with mitf, try and stay positive and enjoy the moment!!
Laridoz - Hope you feel better soon!! I saw your latest BT results in the other forum - they are HUGE!! can't wait to see if there is one or two heartbeats!!
Leabie - It must be so exciting seeing you child waving at you!! It must be such a relief to start telling people!!
Brunette - Try not to worry, I'm sure everything will be fine!! Can't wait till next Friday!! Were we still going to the same place? 1:00pm?
Big hello and :bellyrubs: to everyone else!!
AFM ~ well, I'm trying not to worry too much but many of the symptoms I had at 4 & 5 weeks have all but gone. I'm still a little nauseous - but only when I think about it - the tiredness has gone (which I'm telling myself is because I have sooo much work on at the moment, I don't have time to be tired). (.)(.) are still really sore though - and have grown in the last week  . I guess it's normal to worry - especially how much we have gone through to get here, but I just wish it was easier to sit back and enjoy rather than worrying every minute that everything is ok ... Sorry, just had to get this out - can't really talk to DH about it as he tells me 'don't worry, you can't change anything, just enjoy it' . So I feel silly if I tell him . Thanks for listening (or reading!!)
-
mitf yes i feel the hiccups everyday without fail and sometimes even more than once in a day. Totally weird but very cute feeling and always brings a smile to my face. Sounds like things are definitely progressing for you so hand in there, not long now!
leabie glad to hear your scan went well. It sure is amazing everytime we get to see bub on the screen. Have fun telling everyone. Im sure they will all be excited.
wantbaby#2 OMG when i read 3 weeks it just hit me. That is sooo soon! How exciting for you! Hope you are starting to finalise things at home and getting ready for the big day.
LondonMiss i love your idea on commenting on those nasty peoples non pregnant bellies. Im sure it does shut them up quick smart!
Brunette i too think its still early to feel movement at 14 weeks so dont worry too much. I am totally with you with regards to doing whatever the Dr recommends is best for the babies.
lise hope your appointment tomorrow with the acupuncturist helps. Maybe take a look at LondonMiss' extra pressure points also. Anything to help hey?!
Lairdoz hope your asthma eases up soon and you start feeling better.
Welcome Lisa B and congratulations on your BFP. As everyone else has said, dont feel guilty just be greatful! I too was one of those that didnt have any symptoms throughout my pregnancy so try to remain calm (as much as is possible i guess) and dont worry too much.
Mum 2 Be i have to say i agree with your Dh when he says just enjoy it! I know exactly what you mean with regards to worrying especially after all we have been through but im sure you will be fine.
Off to antenatal class tonight. Apparently we get separated from the men tonight for a while so wondering what that will be all about. Secret womens/mens business i guess.. LOL
-
Lisa B - congratulations on your BFP and on getting it first round! I'm a first round BFPer as well, and I understand your concerns about posting and being happy about it, when others are doing their 7th attempt. I had no symptoms and no morning sickness, so don't think that you HAVE to feel different in order for this pregnancy to be real.
As soon as you see that little blob on the screen with the fluttering heartbeat it will sink in :p
Brunette - the tour was good. we checked out the birthing suite (they have a few of them, some with access to a little balcony). The bath is a corner bath, pretty big, but is not a spa. There's also a shower (one of those ones that you get in really cheap hotels where the shower and toilet are just about on top of each other - reminds me of Japanese hotels!). There's a kitchen close by, toast and tea/coffee, a fridge so you can bring your own snacks for you and DH.
After the birth (not sure if caesar is different) both you and DH get some food provided, some time to spend bonding with bub (or bubs in your case). Then you move into the room. If DH is staying the night, they have the queen rooms but my DH looked at the bed and reckons it's not really a proper queen size so thinks he would have trouble sleeping.
Apparently Medibank Private is the only fund that covers the cost of DH overnight. If not with that fund then it's about $100 per night. As for the new maternity ward, they think that in December the construction will have just ended and they'll be painting etc (so hopefully will be nice and quiet - they had backhoes and noisy machinery while I was there). So I think we'll both be in the existing ward. The rooms were average, but I've seen the Mater rooms and they were pretty similar. Nothing fancy, but it will do the job.
As for feeling bub? Nope not yet, i figure us first timers have no idea what to be looking out for!
Leabie - so glad all went well with your scan, what a great sight to see that little one looking all human-like, instead of like a blob!
Lise - FX the acupuncture does the trick!
AFM: got my first pair of maternity pants (thru a seller on ebay) today, Szabo brand, retails for $120, only paid $10!
Although I can still fit into my normal clothes, the zip and buttons are just a bit of a struggle!
Hope everyone is well.
Chrissy xx

Still here - you'll get sick of me saying that soon! OB appointment tomorrow at 13:10 and acupuncture at 15:30. Fingers crossed as i'm very sick of feeling like I have a cannonball in my tummy...!
Lisa B - congratulations and welcome! Wishing you a very happy and health pregnancy. Don't worry about no symptoms, I hope they stay away! I didn't really have any throughout the whole pregnancy so it doesn't have to mean that there's something wrong :)
Lairdoz - hope your scan goes well on Monday and hope your asthma goes away soon.
mum-2-be - as I said to Lisa B, no symptoms doesn't mean anything is wrong! You will probably worry the whole way through your pregnancy but it does get a little easier eventually and everyone here is exactly the same so worry away to your hearts content - we'll always listen :)
Paula - so what happened in antenatal class?!
Chrissy - what a bargain, good for you! I had to start buying maternity clothes from about 15 weeks also - it wasn't that I was huge, but more as you said that things started getting a little tight and uncomfortable and digging into my belly too much.
Mitf - my BH contractions sound more like Wantbaby's - just like period pain which doesn't go away. They don't necessarily get stronger or more frequent, more that I'm just crampy all day. Very annoying!
-
Right a) sorry if I sound whingey and b) sorry once again for the lack of persies. I am feeling odd and sick and miserable. Anyone got any tips? I feel really nauseous, and out of kilter and just wierd. I've tried all the anti-sickness things that worked for me when I had mild MS, but anyone got any other ideas? (other than to give birth, which seems to be my obs answer to stopping my various other complaints, aches and pains. Ha!)
-
LISA B~ Congrats on your positive result!! Dont feel guilty at all.IVF is extremely difficult to go through whether its one or five cycles. We have all been in the same situation and wouldnt wish infertility on anyone,so we are glad when anyone who has had trouble conceiving falls pregnant. RE: symptoms..i hardly had any til 6 weeks and then it was extreme tiredness, emptying bladder all the time and loss of appetite.I lost 2 kgs in the first trimester.I never really had any breast changes til much, much later and never had 'real' nausea. Not everyone gets morning sickness or symptoms but trust me...changes WILL take place. :)
MUM2BE~Read above (as i wrote to Lisa B re symptoms)
PAULA~ I bet you had to practice breastfeeding those ugly googly eyed dolls tonight.LOL.
Have you got everything ready now for Tiana? I had never heard that name before i met you,but in the past week i have heard it twice!! Where does it originate from? Im keeping my chosen name a secret..it took forever to find something that DH and i liked. He hated everything i chose.:( Im so excited that i have 22 days left.I washed everything the other day and realised i had several pairs of cute leggings, tights and pants but NO long sleeved tops or cardigans.Back to the shops i must go now...aahhh.My legs are so tired..in fact my whole body aches these days.
CK77~Im going to st george private and i think its only a $30 charge for DH to stay the night.Im pretty sure thats what our antenatal teacher/midwife said.I hope so.Would hate to pay $100!!
LISE~ I asked my ob today about painful BH and he said it is different for everyone and some women feel crampy during them.As long as there arent 6+ in an hour they are harmless. For you though,i hope you DO get more than 6 in an hour.Im happy for my peanut to stay put for a few weeks longer. :)
Everyone else..hope you are sailing along nicely.
As for me,i had my ob app today and i went in with a list of questions.I have a coldsore and yesterday applied Zovirax 3x on it then found out,you cant use it in pregnancy.I freaked about it all night,as you can imagine.I stopped using it and washed what was remaining off,but felt sooooooo worried.LUCKILY,my ob looked at me like an over paranoid nut and said it was o.k.Bub is fully developed and no birth defects could take place, and that because its just a topical cream,it wont go through the bloodstream. Its a category B,which is meant to be a no-no,but due to being so far along and using so little,it was all o.k......PHEW!!
My next question was i have a red, itchy rash on both breasta around my nipples.Apparantely its just a hormonal thing.
FINALLY...bub has turned around. She is now head down and a petite size.Doc reckons she will be 7 pound at birth.I like that size.My son was eight pound and just too big.It doesnt matter anyhow as i am booked for my csection but im so glad i have a "smart" baby.LOL. I kept telling dh she took after him because she didnt know which way to face but now she has headed down,we are both happy.Id hate to have gone into labour naturally with her in a breech position.
Well im off.Im going to finish this block of Lindt choccie and glass of milk then head to bed.Goodnight all.xx

Good Morning All
Lisa B - Congrats on your BFP. Changes will come, I was a bit different and my nausea and vomiting started from 5 weeks but so many of the ladies on here have not been sick so everyone experiences something different. Just enjoy the experience!!
Lise - Sorry your still with us!!! Hopefully accupuncture will do the trick today and we will hear some great news over the weekend.
Londonmiss - I wish i could give u some advice but nothing has worked for me, hot chips are always good but!!
CK77 - I have not had to buy any maternity things yet but will soon, i am finding my jeans very uncomfortable to wear now. I was given three big bags of clothes from one of the kids mothers in my class god love her. Still haven't been through them yet.
Paula - hope you are feeling well, not long to go now!
mum2b - I have to agree with your DH sorry, just try and enjoy the experience, no symptoms does not mean there is something wrong. I have a girlfriend who is a week ahead of me and she has not had any symptoms, no nausea, tiredness, aches, cramps, sore boobs nothing yet you name it i have experienced it! Everyone is so different so try not worry too much ( I know that can be difficult)
Laridoz - hope you are feeling better soon GL with hearing th heartbeat it is magical!
Brunette - I have not felt anything yet either i am told by everyone that it can be around 16/17 weeks in your first pregnancy before you feel something so i wouldn't be worried just yet.
Leabie - Glad your scan went well and you got to see bub, it is magical isn't it!!! Makes it just that bit more real.
mitf - I too would like a crystal ball to tell me when my MS will stop. Hopefully now bub is in the right position it won't be much longer now for you. How exciting.
To all you other beautiful ladies that i have missed today :bellyrubs:to you all.
AFM - Had dr app yesterday and she assured me panadine is perfectly safe to take, although i still hesitate everytime i have to take it. She has also ordered two weeks of relaxation over the school holidays and told DH i was to be treated like a princess!!! He has been already though so i can't complain. Still getting sick and now it is making me angry, I just want it to stop. Sorry i seem to always be whinging about my MS. I am going to stay with my mum for a week which will be great to see her and get some baby shopping started. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Morning girls,
Well, very up and down at the moment (mostly up..) :D
We had our NT scan yesterday. It was AMAZING!!!! I couldn't believe the detail we could see!! Got DH and I quite emotional, especially since I've had a fairly symptom free pregnancy. Bubs was moving around and sucking it's thumb- very cute!! Risk came back at 1:2110 so pretty happy with that as well!! DH decided we should go to Pram Warehouse and look at the pram we've been thinking about (I haven't let anyone buy anything until after the scan- I guess DH figured 30 mins after the scan was fine!) Anyway- They're still having their expo sale until the weekend so we ended up getting the pram, cot, car capsule and a portacot. It is so easy to spend money!! Was fun though. We had a real baby day. then my parents came over for dinner and to goo over the pics, we then got DH's parents on Sykype (they're in Scotland) and had a real family celebration. It was fantastic!!
And to the down, woke up this morning to find that one of the girls in my belly buddies group is having large amounts of bleeding (she's 12 weeks). I am so worried for her and I've just been looking at our pics and crying since I read her post. It all makes me so sad, and mad. Noone should have to go through what some of us girls (and our DP's) have to go through. It all seems so unfair sometimes!!:wall:
