Pregnancy after LT TTC #9

Poppyfairy~ When i had my son 13 yrs ago i slept with him cradled in my arm until he was 12 months old.I was a paranoid mother and he was a baby who had asthma that would stop breathing through the night.I could feel and hear him not breathing as he was so close to me that i would wake,give him a gentle shake to get him to take a breath! It was comforting to me knowing he wasnt alone in a cot on the other side of the room.Anyways long story short,the drs say its dangerous co sleeping but there is a thing you can buy that you put in the bed with you.It is available at Target for about $60.Its like a rectangular bed with mesh sides and padding to stop bub slipping around but it just goes in the bed with you and DH making it so easy and safe to co sleep.Thought you could check it out if interested.?xx

Who is MelBel??? I dont remember her. :redface: I love the name of her new son.Connor Jack Edward. My son is Connor,My brother is Jack and my dad was Edward.They are my 3 favourite names!!! She must have read my mind.:)

Smithy - what a strong woman you must be....I cannot imagine what you have been through... I am glad you have finally found happiness. I can see just from the photos I have seen, that you and Coops share a strong and loving relationship and I can see what a caring, lovely gentle man he is from his eyes and the way he looks at you in your pics. I know I am basing this only on pics but I am glad you have found such a lovely relationship when you could have sooo easily given up hope because of your experience.

and yes i just love my new little family and im so lucky to have coops in my life,he actually was my mum and dads friend for about the last 25 yrs so ive known him for a very long time then he got divorsed and i grabbed him :lol: so lucky i did .

Smithy: Once again I take my hat off to you! After everything you've been through to still emerge this smiling, happy, kind caring person is amazing! And I agree 100% with you, these old blokes we've snagged ourselves have made all the difference! They've been there and made their mistakes and learned from them and are ready to be the best husbands and fathers they can be. People give us heaps but I tell you, I wouldn't have it any other way! DH's ex is still dumbfounded at our relationship, she tried to tame him for 28 years and it took me oh about 6 months :lol:

Having technical difficulties last couple of days. My computer blew up and I have the laptop but the only way I can access the internet is if the laptop is plugged directly into the modem which means sitting on the floor in the corner of the back bedroom.. not very comfy! Am waiting til there's NOT a 45min+ queue on the phone for tech support :rolleyes: so I can get the wireless fixed! When all that's done I'll update the EDD List!

Ok this is going to be a bit of a zzzz post. Thank you for all your congrats.
Well we made it one week home.
Little bub is adorable I could just look at him all day.
Sorry been MIA but lack of sleep, washing and baby watching have been the order of the day.
Bubs is finally putting on weight and is now BF fully no more formula (fingers crossed) he is sleepy so I have to unwrap, cold flannel burp to get through a feed but he then sleeps for a few hours (3-4 horuly feeds) which is a good sign.
We exchanged our bassinett for one that has wheels so we can rock him, which seams to settle him right away :D
Hope everyone's pg is going well, will keep popping in to see the anouncements.

More congratulations! I can't imagine who is top of the list now....? Such a run of babies. Thanks for letting us know how you are getting on Poppy, it really puts my mind at rest knowing that the first week isn't some sort of purgatory.

Sorry, an AFM as I need my mind put at rest. I've moved suddenly a couple of times today, a sort of combined turn and lift (had people over and was dog managing) and my belly has been really painful. Not for long and if I sit still it quickly goes away. I've not had any bleeding or anything. Never had this before. Is it just movement related pain? Scared the bejeezus out of me. Hopefully this pain is normal. (Can't believe I can use hopefuly and pain and normal in the same sentence)

Also can't believe I've just stayed up to watch a tv programme finishing past midnight. This is very late for me .....DH who has had a little too much vino collapso has been asleep in the rocking chair snoring for an hour :shhh:

LM try not to stress too much, it's probably that round ligament pain we've mentioned. I used to get it a lot, if I stood up too quick, when I coughed or sneezed too hard and often if I twisted while getting out of the car or out of bed.

HI All hope everyone is doing well.

Well we finally got home on wed. Eight days in hospital was brutal. Things went a little pair shaped (typing this one handed as i put Xavier to sleep) after the blood transfussion i started feeling much better I am still a little fragile and need to make sure i dont do to much but i am ok. But master Xavier lost 14% of his birth weight so they would not let us go home. Because he was considered prem (by one day) he was slightly jaundised and very sleepy so feeding although he new what to do he would fall asleep all the time. Eventually he put on some weight and we could go home. He is starting to wake up more and is feeding better.

My pelvis is much better and I am able to do more houssework now.So not much time to chat anymoe as "I have no excuses now. Oh have to have a little brag I am 6kg lighter than when I fell pregnant. Yay for morning sickness.

I had told the girls in LTTTC TWW but not sure if I mentioned it here. We have a customs dog, you train her for a year and then she goes off hopefully to be protect Australia... well customs have just confirmed her pick up of 22nd Feb. So my baby is going to leave me. And I'm sat here with tears pouring down my face, I know I'm too emotionally attached and I always knew she was going to go but it's so hard, she's been my companion for a whole year. DH calls her my shadow, she follows me everywhere. She's been my first baby :cry:

:clap: oh LM good on you sweety what a great job i bet you have done with her and i personally thank you as we really do need good dogs like this ..youll miss her hun but always remeber what a great job youve done and very soon you will have another bubba

I lost my sweet furbaby on Xmas day. (still think about the support and kindness I recieved here during that trauma - thanks again guys) And I know the pain. You gave your lil one such a wonderful start and although its going to be horrible you will be ok in a little while. You just have to hang in there. Which is something us LTTCers are good at. I am guessing they will give you lots of updates and maybe you will be able to visit?

London Miss~ That pain is normal.It is just your body/ligaments stretching.I get it down both sides and sometimes across my abdomen when i get up quickly,cough or sneeze.

I havnt been receiving any emails so i had to find belly belly and log in.Strange!

On friday i ordered a home doppler from 'first beats' and received it this morning.After watching the info dvd regarding sounds,i listened to my peanuts heartbeat!! Its is sooo good.So reassuring! It took me weeks to decide whether to hire one or not and now that i have it im not sure,i will send it back! Haha.
You should only use it no more than twice a day so my mum and dh are going to have a listen tonight when they both are here together.

Im also excited to say that i think we have finally decided on names....well,i have.:redface: I just need to let dh know.LOL

I remember you mentioning the possibility before on the Furbabies thread. You poor thing, I understand how heartbroken you must be. They really are like our children aren't they, and most people don't understand the connection, and I think it's a whole lot more when people have been in our type of situation, they're there for us through the worst times. I know my world revolves around my furbaby, whenever my parents "babysit" for a weekend I cry when I have to leave her. I can't even fathom the thought of losing her. They all think I'm nuts LOL.

LondonMiss - I have been having similar pains. Sometimes they are more pronounced but I just try to ignore them knowing that my ligaments and everything are in the process of stretching. Sorry to hear you are losing your customs dog. It is hard to loose something you are emotionally attached to but I am sure you have done an amazing job in preparing her for a very important role.

Loula - welcome! While there are lots of lovely ladies having there babies at the moment there is still quiet a few of us that are still in the early stages.

Lise - Congrats on reaching 20 weeks and I hope your scan went well today. Are you happy with the change of provider? Where they better than the last one?

Smithy - wow it sounds like you have been through some tough stuff and so glad to hear that you have now found happiness with Coops and baby Charlie. If you want to be able to access Facebook you could set up a fake account. I know a guy who isn’t meant to have an account due to the nature of his work but he has a fake name and random picture on his account. His friends and family know it’s really him but stops anyone else who he doesn't want to know.

BDT - I got to see your photo’s on the weekend. You were absolutely radiating! You and DH look so happy and what beautiful little girls.

Poppyfairy - great to see that everything is falling into place for you. I have found a million people will try and tell you what you should and shouldn’t be doing but I figure just do what works best for you.

Wantbaby - having a Doppler must be amazing.... I thought about buying one but DH talked me out of it… being our first baby there seems to be so many other things to buy.

AFM - went baby shopping on the weekend...... I got lots of ideas but it also got sent the mind boggling! I think we will get the Mountain Buggy swift for our pram… it will be so nice when I have made all the decisions and get to order everything!

Loula - welcome!! As mitf said, not all of us are at the stage of having babies just yet so you'll find lots of support here. I know i've asked many many questions and have always felt much comforted by the responses.

murph, poppyfairy, grub, smithy, green and saph - my goodness, what a list!! Hope you're all still enjoying your babymoons! I do enjoy looking at all your pics when you post them up so keep them coming :)

melbel - congratulations!! Hope you're all well and at home enjoying your gorgeous nursery.

boc - hope your technical difficulties are resolved soon! I certainly know where you're coming from as i'm sure people are sick of me whingeing about our lack of computer...! By the way - I LOVE your belly pic on your signature, what a gorgeous photo!

londonmiss - sorry to hear about your furbaby, I know what a comfort she's been to you during this time. It's such a lovely thing to do though and I hope you can find some comfort knowing that she will bring so much happiness to someone else, and that you had a role in that :hug:

wantbaby - what a comfort it must be to have a doppler at home, i'd be using it every time!!! And well done on making a decision on the name - do you think DH will be agreeable?!

mitf - I liked this place much better. She talked us through everything she did and was really friendly and helpful.

AFM - we had our 20 week scan today! It was so lovely to see the chicklet moving around and it's so much bigger (well obviously...!) than last time. It was quite shy and kept hiding its face with its hands but we got a good look and have a lovely photo of the face looking straight at us! And although we said we weren't going to find out in the end temptation got the better of us, so you'll be glad to know we're adding a little pink to the thread :D Of course I had to go straight out and buy some pink, girly clothes and they're so cute!! We're still going to stick to our decision not to tell anyone, but wanted to tell you girls. So i've put aside a bag for the clothes/toys etc which we'll have to hide from everyone else, but I think we'll be okay not telling. Well I hope so anyway. In other news, we pick up our car on Wednesday (yay!) and we have also chosen a pram - all we have to do now is choose a colour...

Hello ladies. Thanks for all the lovely messages. I'm really touchedm thank you all so much. I've spent the whole day in dark glasses intermittedly blubbing. But I am very proud of her and I'm feeling better about 4 months of lay ins before bub arrives!

Most excitingly, I'm lead bidder on a pushchair on ebay! It's years since I used ebay and I've realised why I should not be allowed on here! I'm looking at a mountain thingie too, one with a bassinette attachment and a regular chair bit. And it's really near me too, so convenient. Anyway, we'll see in one hour and 8 minutes if I have it! That'll teach DH for going to Sydney to meet the chief exec!!!

Lise - so pleased to hear you are having a little girl. I wonder if over time, there really is a 50/50 split. It seems like it runs in waves, a rush of boys etc. I can't wait to find out next week.
