Hi guys, thank you so much for all your love and support x.
Alyssa Violet was born at 2.16pm on the 26th of Oct by c section at 36 wks and 6 days. She weighed 9 pounds 2 ounces and was 52 cm long.
She was delivered even further ahead of schedule because I very rapidly developed preeclampsia. I went into the hospital for fetal monitoring yesterday and never left.
C section went well but bubs gave us a huge scare by taking 6 minutes to breathe once out - terrifying! There were suddenly lots of people in the room suctioning her lungs, giving oxygen and doing heart compressions because the heart rate dropped so low. As soon as she started breathing tho she perked right up and has been wonderful ever since. She's a nursery baby for now but getting lots of cuddles.
Thanks again everyone and I'm looking forward to hearing of your births soon :)
Mich yay!!! Lovely name ;)
What a lovely size hope you are both doing well!
Massive grats mich, hope your enjoying some new born snuggles!! Wow what a great size, welcome earth aside little one!
Congrats mich! What a gorgeous name! So glad everything turned out great x
Congrats Mich! Glad to hear you and baby are now doing well ;)
Love her name, great choice!
That would have been SO scary when she wasnt breathing but thankfully she is doing fab now and you can enjoy having your little one.
How long are you in Hosp for?
Yay passed my gest diabetes test and bubs is measuring all close to dates so I guess my fundal measurements are just out. I put on an extra kilo last week after eating lots of carbs in prep for the glucose test.
How is everyone else going?
Awesome news Joeve!!! Is the same person measuring you every time?? My last midwife said that the measurement can really vary depending on who is doing it!!!
I am going pretty well. 10 weeks yesterday and starting to be filled quietly with more and more hope that this little one is actually going to happen. I have my first midwife appointment booked for two weeks.
I am getting to the stage (and looking a litle rounder too) where I need to start telling people but I keep chickening out. We have been through so much the last year and it feels so odd telling people again. I certainly have no urge to yell it from the roof tops, and living in a small town it's going to get around quick. But I was wondering how you all felt about telling people?? And how did you tell people????
Hi to everyone xxx
Lbf yay glad you are feeling a little bit more relaxed! Lots of sticky vibes.
Yes it's the same person measuring me and we just think that the whole of my weight gain is going to my tummy which seems right based on my clothes!
I only told my sister in law I was pregnant when I was 6 weeks.
I told my best friend around 9wks as I needed her support if something happened.
I told our parents after our 12wk scan when I was 11.5weeks and then close friends and family a couple days later.
Then when I was nearly 14wks I announced on Facebook.
Just do what you feel comfortable with.
I wasn't excited to share my news unfortunately.
I felt comfortable everything was ok once I saw a scan of my baby's face at nearly 23 weeks.
I don't know why but that's what did it for me.
Hi Everyone
Just dipping my toe in this thread. I got my BFP yesterday after our 7th IVF transfer. I know a few of you girls already xxx and look forward to chatting with the rest of you.
My DH and I are both 41 and got married last year at Easter. We tried naturally but nothing happened so after 6 months off to the docs who recommended we see a FS. He basically said due to age, straight to IVF. We have undiagnosed infertility which they are just putting down to old eggies. Everything else comes up fine.
We got our 1st ever BFP in June. We were super excited as we had been through 5 cycles of IVF by then. I had a dating scan at 7 weeks all was good. Measured on dates and hb of 120bpm. We had relaxed and told pretty much everyone over the next few weeks. Unfortunately I had a missed miscarriage in July at 9wks + 6 days. I didn't feel pg enough so had asked for another scan and sure enough bubs had stopped growing at 6wks and 3 days so bubs must have arrested just after the scan. It was a very difficult time.
So now I find myself happily pg but wary. We wont be sharing our news until later. I told my boss and BFF but thats it. We will tell immediate family after our 7 week scan, which we intend to push out until almost 8 weeks as my DH mothers birthday is around the 7 and a half week mark and she has sadly passed away, so surely she will bring us good luck.
I think I will hang out here for while under Joeve's chair. :)
Well done Joeve on your great GD results xxx
Vic love that you are here now. I love this thread the girls are awesome and we have pretty much all spent some time hiding under the chair :)
As I have said I am hoping that you have super sticky in there and I can't wait to find out if there is one or two!
Hi ladies, can I join in here for a bit of support? I finally got a BFP on Monday :) I am finding it hard to be excited because I am only about 4.5 weeks. But I have had no bleeding or spotting so that's a good sign I guess. Although I am in the loo every hour to check for blood! aaargh, I just want to be happy!
Hi Vic & Tasha :)
Hi Tasha - Congratulations on your BFP. I got mine yesterday. I am 4 weeks today. Lets make it to the end together
Thanks Rach and Vic :)
Vic, congratulations on your BFP too. I am unsure exactly how many weeks and days I am because this cycle was 150 days!! :o But going by ovulation I think I ovulated on 14/10 so I'm guessing around 4 weeks and maybe a few days????
Yes, FX we make it to the end FX FX FX :)
Just wanted to sneak in to say a huge congrats to Vic. Very excited for you and hoping so much that this one sticks and you have a very boring and uneventful pregnancy. Congrats hun xxx
Tasha I said it before in your other thread but another big congrats to you too.
Thanks keta xxx with all these sticky vibes, surely it has to stick.
Glad to see Vic and Tasha in here- where you both belong!
The rest of us are proof miracles can happen, so sticky vibes to you and I am sure you will both have a healthy and happy 9 months ahead of you xx
Good to see you in here Vic and Tasha.
Joeve - awesome news about the test!
AFM - my HCG dropped for a 4th time but only by 100 points. U/S is showing I'm spot on dates and we have a heartbeat so the Dr's have said stop the blood tests and keep up with the u/s's to see whats happening. So 6w6d today another u/s friday week when I'll be 8ws.
I don't know what to think, I've never had this happen its usually been a very fast process. I thought I had cramping but I think its more bowel related, its just not low enough to be anything else and other than a tiny tiny brown discharge when wiping about 3 times over a week there's been nothing, no bleeding, nothing! Dr's keep saying until there isn't a heartbeat there's hope but I don't know. Searched and search and search for stories of dropping HCG in viable pregnancies and they are out there but I don't want to get my hopes up either.
So for the moment this one is hanging on!
TMS - I will have everything crossed for you. Seeing a hb is good and if your spot on with dates that must be good to. Good luck with your scan next week.
the thing is TMS lots of people might have it but not know if they don't get BTs all the time, i only ever had one BT so who knows what could have been going on- ignorance is bliss ;), anyway, fingers crossed for you and definately if you have seen an HB you are in a much better place :stickyvibesgirl::stickyvibesboy:
TMS fingers crossed a good measurement and heartbeat sounds awesome to me!
Saffy I just found out that ob is taking me off clexane at 34weeks have you had an update on when you come off it?
i think 36 wks but will discuss next appt ( at 32wks), can't wait as I did the biggest bruise ever yesterday, i had been having a good run until then.
Well done on GCT results, its a relief.
Really wish my baby would go head down, it appears to be very comfortable in breech no matter how much I stand on my head :D
I want to be off them as well as we are now doing them above my hips and they hurt so much there!! I am also a bit scared to go off them at the same time!
This one is currently googling breech apparently but we have lots of time to turn. Love that I am imagining you upside down making like a bat!
Thank you ladies, it feels good to finally be posting in a pregnancy thread  Though I don't want to jinx myself!! I am still checking every hour to see if I am bleeding. I feel like I am dreaming, I just can't believe it could happen for me. I had a BT yesterday and I am having one tomorrow. Then off to the GP Monday to get the results. I am so nervous I feel sick!
TMS, I have everything crossed for you and i hope the time flies by to get you through to 8 weeks. Waiting sucks!
Tasha I'm the same, constant checking for bleeding!! I was also addicted to HPT's, saffy can vouch for the craziness lol. Felt good to see that line get darker and the digital tests go up and up in weeks pregnant!
7wks today, another tiny bit of brown when wiping. Its really odd, (and probably TMI) its not old blood, its not fresh blood, its not pre AF type stuff, never seen stuff like this.
Scared about hitting 8 wks, had a few m/c's around then.
Sorry to lurk but TMS; Im quietly cheering you on
I understand your fear on hitting 8 weeks tms.
Tasha - I think you will feel better after seeing the doctor on Monday. Well it will ease your worries for a little while anyway. It seems like there is always something to stress about :)
Hi to everyone else.
AFM - My HCG has risen to 479.1 today from 166.8 on Tuesday. A nice doubling time of 47 hours :) Trying to stay positive.
I feel a lot quieter in my mind than last time. Last time I was a rush of emotions, but this time because we have only told a couple of people its easier I think. I am really hungry already and feel like I have heartburn, but its not heartburn. Lots of saliva.
Have a great weekend girls.
TMS, keeping everything crossed for you still. It's such a terrifying time to edure
Vic, nice results. We have only told a couple of people too. There isn't so much pressure if everybody doesn't know I reckon.
Had my second BT today and get the results on Monday. Time is just going sooo slow. I just want to know already, but I'm panicking a bit also. I pulled up at Melbourne Pathology today and had butterflies in my stomach, and that was just for a regular old blood test!
I hate waiting for the blood results, fingers crossed the weekend flies by and you get some great numbers Tasha.
:hello: Ladies
:goodluck: Tasha hope ur results come back awesome and quick!
Afm- 38 wks now, yay! Have been having bad menstrual like cramps for two days. Only happens in the morning about from 4am to 7 and then stops? Anyone experiencing or has experienced this with former pregnancies? Does it mean I'm close??? :help:
I was induced with both children but thats how my labour started, period type cramps. getting very close by the sounds of it.
Mia yay for 38 weeks! Exciting times and I can't wait for news of your popage!!
Hi ladies, how are you all?
Yesterday my sore boobs kind of vanished. Today they are a little bit sore, but nothing like they used to be. I'm freaking out a bit. I have googled (yes, I know!) and it seems to happen to some ladies, but why me? I don't need this doubt :( I was all snotty and cold like last week and now I'm fine. Actually, I am completely fine. Not even tired. The last couple of mornings I had blood in my tissue when I blew my nose, but that's it. Just did a HPT again to ease my mind, it's very dark positive, but that doesn't confirm anything.
Sorry for the ramble. Why do I have so many doubts this week? :(
Hi all,
Just had time to catch up on all your news now im home from hospital and I'm jumping up and down with excitement for Vic and Tasha! Yay!!! Tasha, your post about symptom worries is identical to mine at that stage. The worry is natural.
Mia- could be any day now, can't wait for your announcement.
I hope all blood tests and scans are looking good for all of you. It's such a scary time but so worth it!
Gotta change my ticker when I get a chance!
Mich congratulations!! And thank you, that makes me feel a bit better :)
Hi everyone!
TMS I hope this week flies by, I have been thinking of you, what a journey!?!?!??!?!
Vic, welcome and what great numbers your have. Hope these next few weeks are ok for you!
MIA, how are those cramps? I had them with all three of my children for about two weeks before the birth. But when I did go into labour eventually, all my babies were here under two hours from first contraction!!
Tasha, I have had up and down symptoms the whole time, in fact my MS is nowhere near as bad as the two MC. I am super hungry and super tired and sometimes sick, but it always changes! I just came to, what will be will be and all the poking prodding and freaking out will not change the outcome. THat relaxed me enough to get to the 8 week scan. I hope you feel a bit better emotionally tomorrow. It is such a big journey x
Hi Joeve... did I miss anyone else??
AFM going pretty well here, still plodding along and looking forward to my midwife coming over in about 10 days (who's counting!!!)
