Milly - good to see you have been able to defect! Congrats girl. Do you feel sick yet?
Bonham - good to hear from you, as often as you can post is good. It's nice to be reminded of how you are doing. 17weeks - awesome. Good luck with your scan - May 7 is really not far away at all. I hope your DH can come too. I understand about not posting. If I was at work I would only get here on weekends. I post because I am at home by myself and during the week, BB keeps me sane by feeling connected to the world. On weekends, I have Dh and lots of company, so don't have the time to come in.
I just read your EDD for this bub - NRL grand final day - Can't believe you worked that one so well. Have you got someone knitting you a bunny rug or something in your team colours?
-
Quick selfish post ladies..
Firsly, CONGRATS millyd!! How very exciting for you!! Lots of sticky vibes being sent your way...
Scan today.... turns out it's 90% chance of being a baby GIRL!! DP and I are over the moon at the news, it was fantastic seeing our baby on the screen!!
She had her hands above her head, like a ballerina, the whole time!! I'm in love with my daughter! Let's hope it is a girl, won't be going overboard with the pink though, just in case we're wrong!!
Enjoy your week everyone!

Preggers again
Hi everyone, I'm new here . . .
Firstly, congratulations to all you pregnant ladies - look forward to hearing about your little bundles of joy as they progress!
Took a home test today and I'm pregnant again after miscarrying on Mar 19 - no AF. Very happy but also burst into tears when I saw it, remembering last time. Estimating that I'm 4w4d, but will have to wait for a scan to confirm.
Thinking I might wait a week or two before confirming at my GP - last time I got a negative result at the GP because it was too early and had to wait another week anyway.
Trusting and praying
-
dory: if DF was home during the day i'd hardly be online at all.
 it was more of a fluke that i'm due on GF day, as i fell approx 7-8weeks after we lost Everson, i know it's going to be interesting to see if i go on my EDD because it's going to be hilarious if i do. I might crochet myself a bunny rug and just incorporate all the colours of the NRL teams.
HPL: congratulations on expecting a GIRL
Jen10: congratulations on your + HPT, maybe leave it a few days and test again?. I know with this bub i tested twice in a week and they were both feint +'s and when i went to the doctor he didnt do any tests but it seems i was only 3-4weeks.
-
Jen10 - congrats girl! How exciting for you, and we all understand the fear/anxeity/sadness that mixes with the happiness of a BFP. I was soo soo keen to have this pregnancy confirmed that I took multiple HPT's and then was at the GP. I didn't want a blood test to confirm, just a POAS, but done by someone else. It came back loud and strong for me at the GP's. I was over the moon. I have read that HPT's will not be wrong for a +ive but can give false -ive's, if the HCG levels are not high enough when you test. I wouldn't be able to wait if I were you.
HPL - congrats on expecting a little girl to your family. Go and buy a few girlie things for your daughter, if the prediction isn't correct, you can always go out and get some non girlie things if you need to. But how nice will it be if you have some outfits you have chosen for your girl to wear straightway!
Bonham - that would be potentially a really lurid bunny rug! I have one of those but its in pastels..... Does that mean you are about 19/20 weeks now with this pregnancy?
19 weeks today for me. I am getting excited about all ( well not all, can do without heartburn or other nasties) of the aspects of pregnancy I have yet to experience.... getting a big big tummy and waddling. Who would think someone would get excited about that! Has anyone had cravings? I seem not to have had them yet .... I wish I would get one for icecream.
-
dory: it would be a pretty funky colourful bunny rug  i'm 17weeks 3days atm, i'll be 18weeks this Sunday so by the time i have my 18week scan i'll be 18weeks 5days. Wow your only a week or two ahead of me. I dont know whether what i eat is "cravings" i basically eat whatever i want (within reason) and nothing that i wouldn't normally eat.
-
Hi all,
Sorry i have been so slack on the posting.
Millyd & Jen10 - Huge Congratulations on your BFP's. Take each day as it comes and be positive!
Hope.Positive.Love - Congratulations on a baby GIRL. It makes it so real when you know what you are having. And gee there are some mighty cute girls clothes out there!!
Dory - Antenatal classes were good. From doing lots of reading and reading birth stories on belly belly i felt that i already knew everything we talked about. I havent had any heartburn. People always ask me if ive got it. Wouldnt even know what it feels like. Hopefully you wont get the not so nice symptoms of pregnancy. Yay for 19 weeks... The second half will fly by!
Bonham08 - Wow 18 weeks. When is your next scan? Will you find out the sex??
Belly rubs to everyone else that i have missed.
AFM - Had 36 week scan last Friday. Baby is head down and ready to go. Had to have his kidneys checked out and they look good too. Still a little distended but his bladder is working and he has heaps of fluid around him so they are confident that nothing is wrong. We will probably need to take him for a scan on his kidneys at 6 weeks just to be sure but im not even going to worry about it until we have to. 37 weeks tomorrow and counting down!
-
HI ladies!!
Millyd - congrats!!! I knew it wouldn't be long!
Jen - welcome and congrats!!
Maddison - wow - not long now.
Dory - no cravings for me yet, I wish I would crave vegetables - I feel like I really should be eating better than I am!
AFM - still having MS! had a good day over the weekend, followed by the vommies!
Hello to all the other ladies I missed!
-
Morning all,
Sorry i have been MIA, have had a nasty bout of gastro...YUK!!! I am not a 'sick" person, so it was awful, i never catch tummy bugs, DH and i both woke up with it monday morning, along with 2 of our friends we spent anzac day with, but apparently half the town has it!!! Feeling ten times better today!!
Jen & MillyD - A big congrats, look forward to sharing the journey with you both xx
HPL- Yay on a girl, i;m with Dory, buy a few girly things!!
AUdax - how are you hun? Been thinking of you xx
Milly5 - How awful you still have MS, and here i am complaining about gastro, at least i haven't had it for 21 weeks, you poor thing xx
Maddison - How exciting, so close now.
Bonham - Great to see everything is going good, we are really close in dates.
AFM - I was 18 weeks yesterday, still no massive kicks or anything, just flutters and a tapping feeling, which DH felt last night!!! Have scan next wednesday at 9am, scared but can't wait at the same time, also have to have my cervix length checked just as precaution as i had a laser procedure for an abnormal pap smear about 5 yrs ago!! Hopefully all good!! Ob appoinment last week was cruisy, all good, had to put of miidwife appoinment on monday due to being sick, so rescheduled for next tues, just to finish all hospital paperwork and talk about classes etc.
Hope evryone is well xx
-
Maddison - oh wow - that is awesome news about bubs position. Good to hear you're being positive about his kidneys too. Oh sweetie - I am so excited for you and can't wait to read your BA and Birth Story.
Sparkles - sorry you were sick. Yukko. Gastro is never nice. It's just so miserable, feeling sick all the time and just waiting for the next vommie or squirtie ( other end). And then feeling so exhausted. Feel better soon.... pity that DH got it at the same time, otherwise he could have taken care of you. Congrats on reaching 18 weeks - it's an awesome feeling, each milestone.
Milly - I am so sorry that youre still sick. In a way having a good day is cruel, because it gives you hope there will be more days like that. I used to suffer from pretty severe & constant nausea for about 3/4 years and whilst I enjoyed the good days, it was hard when reality crashed around me again and I almost wished that I didn'thave the good day. But, the good days gave me hope for what it could be like. And gradually over time, it has improved. Had squillons of tests to work out why. Nothing that could be detected. Diagnosed with IBS. But interestingly, a better, diet, more fluids, more fibre and more exercise helps a lot. Anyway, I just hope a few mor god days can be strong together for you.
Bonham, HPL, Elise - big hugs coming your way...
AFM - 19 weeks now. I will get that ticker up and running. I have heard from the mods and it's ok apparently if my signature changes in old posts, but I ahve to change it in current/future posts ( so I don't breach the rules for posting in TCC/Loss threads)....5 more sleeps til my next scan - the morphology. As usual excited and scared intermittently. C'est la vie. Belly rubs.
Bon - good luck next week. I know you're nervous and scared. You will get through it.
-
maddison: 17weeks 4days atm, my next scan is a week from tomorrow (May 7th) and we still havent decided if we'll find out the sex or not, DF has been flat out with work.
Sparkles: i was originally in the Sept 16th-30th Belly Buddies group but i ovulated later than what both my doctor & myself thought so my dates were pushed back. Now i'm due October 3rd.
dory: thanks  are you finding out the sex?
AFM: my  's EDD is fast approaching so that's going to be a tough day, it's kinda crept up on to be honest. I've checked in with my old May Belly Buddies although it is hard to see them either having already given birth or waiting for their bubba's to be born i felt i needed to give them my best wishes and i just need to concentrate on this bubba i'm growing and stop thinking of the "what if's" because they wont do me any good.
-
Bon - I am leaving gender a sweet mystery....At least your scan is before Everson's EDD. BUt still a tough week coming up next week. My scan is 4th - Tuesday.
-
dory: oh you're a stronger person than me, i'm too impatient i want to know this time but DF still hasnt made up his mind.I've booked my scan on purpose in my 18th week for that reason, i wanted it done before Everson's EDD and after i had the bleed @14weeks i didnt want to wait any longer to have the next scan.
-
Hi ladies...
I'm really just popping in to say a huge thank you to you all... I'm not great at posting here because my internet time is few and far between and I spend most of my time reading rather than posting.
I just wanted to say I check in on you guys frequently tho and I like to make sure everyone is doing ok!!
It's a comfort to read all your posts and you are all so good at doing the personals I just know I will never remember everyone if I try!
Guess I just thought it was about time I said thanks...
Lots of love to you all and keep up the positive chat here!
Kermit.x
P.S all is well with me too... 16 weeks and counting!

-
Hi all, back again. Not so sure this one will last but I am pregnant once again and hoping this will go the distance. A blood test confirmed I was 5-6 weeks pregnant which was consistent with my dates. I have another next week to make sure the levels rise and then, if they do, a scan at 7 weeks to see if there is a heartbeat. So we have a long way to go!
-
Hi Sammy! Welcome, honey! Hoping this time is a winner for you.
I am feeling awful - just had my worst spew so far. But have, at least, discovered that drinking vanilla flavoured soy milk makes the smell fairly bearable, even a little pleasant.
Our scan on Thursday was awesome. Everything's fine, dates are back to normal, baby was bouncing around all over the place. So exciting.
Feel another spew coming on, gotta fly.
-
Congratulations Sammy so glad to see you back in here hun and hopefully its a nice long stay. I know it seems like such a long way to go and it can be very stressful but it actually goes along quite quickly, well at least i have found that it has, it feels like only yesterday i seen those 2 BEAUTIFUL lines and now im 27 weeks. Good luck hun :)
Audax Oh no to the spewing, i feel so sorry for you with the ms it must be horrible. Im so glad i only had the nausea and never actually spewed. Glad to hear that your scan went well last week, its lovely to see everythings fine and bub jumping around.
AFM 27weeks tomoro and cruising along, getting lots of kicks from my little man and loving it. I think you can actually tell that im pregnant now which is exciting coz people can actually tell its a pg belly now and not just too much fatty food hehe. Anyway i have an appt on the 1st of June to get booked in to hossy and get to see the new maternity ward so thats exciting.
Take care all xx
-
Sammy - that is awesome. You must be excited and scared all at once. CONGRATULATIONS. Hoping for a sticky bub this time......
Audax - oh you poor blossom. I am like Elise, a lot of quite intense nausea but no actual pukies. It must just be miserable. Glad you found a bit of a solution to make some of it less horrid...my friends Ob used to say "the sicker the better". My Ob says "that's ok, within reason..." Are you keeping anything down? Good for you to get to 13 weeks - hopefully the M/S will ease up for you soon? Awesome results for that scan too by the way..... every little bit helps.
Elise - good work you. 27 weeks. Even for me, stuck at home mostly on bed rest, time has kept on moving. I am 23 weeks this week.....Know what you mean about "looking preg". I am not sure I do, but my DH and Ob are very galant in always referring to my baby bump. DH reckons the bump sticks out further than my ( ample) bust..... though as much as I try, even if I mash my boobs up, I am not seeing what my DH sees! Sometimes I wish I saw what he does....
AFM - am feeling a bit glum.... so much so I made an appointment to see the ob...and got an appointment tomorrow but thought about requesting today. Just a few experiences all combined to unsettle me. Occasionally I have "tightenings", which for me in the past have never a good sign, but no more than 2 at any one time and usually no more than once a day and they seems to go away if I move. Possibly Braxton Hicks, but worth checking out. Bubs wasn't as active as usual over the weekend, but bounced back last night and this morning. Good to have bubs bounced back but unsettling, and again worth checking out.
On a much funnier note, we took all 3 cats to the vet for their annual check up and vaccination on Saturday. OMG it was hilarious. The 3 of them all yowled at the tops of their lungs as soon as they were in the travel crates and continued for the 30 mins car trip and THEN in the waiting room whilst we waited about 15-20 mins. They scared one cat into the back of her crate, and instigated another two to start up a racket. Strangely, they were quiet during the consult, but then as soon as they were out of the consult room the racket started again and continued all the way home. When we were in the waiting room, everyone was laughing at them. My mum says better than frowning or telling us off. We got a recording of the cacaphony and will email it to some of our cat lover friends, who might understand. I told DH it was good practice for when baby is crying in the car or in public....fur babies, wouldn't b e without them....
Hope you're all well.
-
Dory 23 weeks good work, thats great. I know what you mean about seeing what other people see, i too would love that, just to see what i look like from a different perspective. When you say tightening how do you mean and what do braxton hicks feel like, i have no idea but would be interested in knowing if you are able to explain it. Thanx hun :)
-
Elise - thanks for asking. It's hard to explain, but here goes. There is a tightening in my lower abdominal area. It's usually in the middle and radiates out to both sides but not far out, still at the front. It usually only lasts between 5 - 30 seconds. There is no pain, no cramping. Just a tighening. It's not like a muscle twitch or spasm or an eye twtich. It's like a wave of tightening, gradually increasing and then gradually decreasing. I had similar sorts of tightenings, in the days, prior to Amelia and Sophie, before labour was established, but there were also other sensations at those times which I don't have - like pelvis pressure ( which was actually the baby descending into the pelvis), and the tightenings becoming more regular and painful (contractions). I have read that some women have "irritable uterus" where the uterus seems to want to have these mini conttractions/tightenings during most of the pregnancy, instead of just later on. I am not really sure if that is what Braxton Hicks contractions feel like, I am just assuming it is.
One of the things I will ask the Obstetrician about today is the length of the cervix and whether there is any funneling - the amniotic sac starting to stretch down towards the cervix. Cervical length is dynamic ( that is it can change and be variable) but a length of 2.5cm, starts to give me concern and 1.6cm is usually fairly indicative of labour being imminent. Mine has varied so far from 3.8 to 3cm - all of which are great numbers.
The good thing is, the things that I have to worry about is not a concern for the majority of pregnant women!
I am feeling excited about the appointment and a bit glum. Today DH and I took one of the fur babies into the vet for a tooth extraction. I am usualy robust with things like this, but have been anxious, and then was crying when we left the cat this morning. I just keep saying to myself - they are good vets and it's a routine proceedure and at 2pm I will see my fur baby again. But wow, with the pregnancy hormones, my anxiety about the baby it just makes the cat's procedure is much harder for me than I thought it would be. Bring on 2pm is all I can say.
Sorry about the selfish post today, but I needed it to be. Belly rubs to all.
-
Dory dont be sorry about the selfish post sometimes we just need to vent and let everything out. Thanks for that info about the tightening, it sounds quite similar to what ive been experiencing but have had it happening for probably the past 6 - 8 weeks. I just assumed it was bub moving really close to the front IYKWIM :)
So its past 2pm so im assuming your little fur baby is home and hope the extraction went well and he/she isnt too sad. Also how did the ob appointment go? I hope you got the answers you were after.
Take care hun
-
Elise - I got a little distracted with caring for the little fluff ball. He was really good after the proceedure. I spent a few days just taking it easy and keeping a very watchful eye on him, just in case. He is back to his spunky bold rogue self. I am sooo much better now, both from getting my fur baby home safe and sound and from my ob apointment. Thanks for asking. I had an appointment with my ob on Tues and he said the tightenings were "phsyiologically normal" and he can feel them in patients from about 16 weeks and he would expect a few every day for most women, but some women don't feel them. I suppose its just my experiences that have made me more vigilant.
How are you doing? Getting excited? I was reading about baby hicoughs today and wondered if I had felt them. I think so, but its hard to tell.
It's been quiet in here, guess everyone is busy with their own stuff. Belly rubs to all.
