Hello ladies!
I'm still stalking this thread but as I only have my iPhone to post on I can't really do persies so I feel bad and don't post at all! Sorry! I have been reading though!
Just wanted to wish Ferrals and Forshelby all the best for the immanent arrival of their precious bubbas! Can't wait to hear the exciting news!
I'm 18 weeks today. Still finding it hard to believe. Wish I knew a way to get over the fear and just enjoy it but I really don't think it's going to happen! Scan in 6 days.. That will reassure me for a bit I guess!
Have a great day ladies xx
-
ok attempting persies from memory.
Dory- I have flip flop style slippers for hospital. Do you think I should have rubber thongs for the shower? 4 to a room sharing the bathroom. And yes, I am over it lol. I told bubby last night to get out of my tummy and go to their room. Lol.
Reet- Here's what I packed in my bag.
Slippers, breast pads, maternity pads, 3 nursing bras, singlets, 3 pairs of trackie dacks, 7 pairs of knickers (lol), hot/cold breast soothing gel pads, socks, spare change, toiletries i think thats it.
As for buying nursing bras I was told as long as you can get your hand flat in the top of it near the strap comfortably, thats enough room for growth when your milk comes in.
Everyone else, hi, hugs and belly rubs :)
AFM- I had a rough night last night. Couldn't sleep until 4am because of this sucky cold! Dp has been lovely tho, and is picking up everything humanly possible for me to get better from the chemist. In tummy related news, I think I'm having more BH than before, things are ummmm moving VERY well in toilet town (lol) and I AM READY. Please come out, baby!!
-
Sorry for not posting but i have been reading i promise :)
I also want to wish Ferrals and Forshelby all the best, so exciting & i can't wait for your BA's.
-
OK ladies i have a date the 18th of march so 14 days to go not 12 but i am happy with that as it's a friday and then i wont have to worry about DH taking the boys to school ect over the weekend.
So forshelby its your turn next unless you go a few days late.
Mildez-glad you swapped OB's seems your last one wasnt quite on the ball.
Reet-glad i could help on the hospital bag just one other thing i have done is to have extra clothes for me and bub at home ready for DH to bring in if needed and the bottles and forumla if BF is not possible i have put them all in the same spot so if i need them i can tell DH and he doesnt have to go searching the house for them and maybe even end up bringing the wrong things in you know men:rolleyes: just trying to be prepared i am even going to have a weeks worth of uniforms and easy meals ready for my boys so DH can spend as much time at the hospital with me and the boys will be all good at home they wont spend much time at the hospital they get to bored.
Angelfish- i know i am counting the days now.
Alish-13 weeks now the fun bit when you start to look pregnant thats the best.
Stoked- 18 weeks awesome i wish i could say something to help with your fears but to be honest nothing anyone says really helps until we hold our babies in our arms safe.
Forshelby-not long now! my toilet habits have changed to i find it very easy now.
AFM-Car capsule is in soooo exciting saw the OB booked my c section date he checked bub she is very happy OB wanted me in hospital until my c section i said no chance i have had no bleeding so i will be fine at home he has given DH a doctors certificate for centrelink so he dosnt have to look for work or do any courses until after the 30th of march as he doesnt want me by myself incase of going into labour early or hemorrage he said bub is looking very ready to be born and he had a quick look at the u/s and it showed the placenta 8mm away from the cervix and my cervix has shortened and is starting to thin out so getting ready for labour he just said rest rest and try to get to 38 weeks.

What a cute belly Ferrals :D
Hi to everyone im so tired i have read everything just doing a selfish post before i head to bed
Is it normal for bubs to have hiccups alot? he seems to have them heaps
Now its freaking me out it might mean something is wrong. I just want to see him on monday we havent seen him since 19 weeks to know hes growing okay
another question about 32 week scan a very dumb one i was to embarrsed to ring and ask them. Do i need a full bladder like the earlier ones or its dosent matter now hes big
-
kellbell, no to the full bladder and DS had the hiccups from the minute i conceved to the minute he was born, it was weird that molly didnt have them much. and i can promise you there is nothing wrong with ds! hugs
-
Ferrals- Oh ur tummy is tiny! and ur frog is so cute! :) Woohoo 14 days to go!! Good that u cld convince the ob not to put u in hospital for the remaining time... that wld be so boring!! Make sure u just take it easy at home tho.
U really are all organised for ur hospital stay! I think if i need extra clothes ill just get dh to take some home to wash. I dont think ill worry about the formula backup plan.. ill be so sad if i cant b/f. Have u had troubles in the past??
Dory- Pls dont apologise for forgetting me in ur last post u silly duffa! I always forget ppl! plus i hadnt posted in so long i dont blame u for not remembering me :) Little yogi boy is really good, altho we have found out he is a huge sook! Yesterday i heard an awful really loud crying/howling noise coming from the backyard, i raced out expecting to see a snake eating him or maybe from a spider bite or something but nope.. when he got to me i was looking for green ants attacking him or something else only to find he had a bit of poo hanging from his bottom! He mustnt have liked having it stuck to him! He had been eating wallaby poo down at a park so it must have been a bit of a grassy poo... I cldnt believe it! He was jumping around crazily whilst crying and managed to flick it off, he had a sniff of it and went and laid down and just looked up at me all sad! Hahaha i cldnt believe it! He's getting his 16 week vaccinations tomoro, it will be interesting to see how he goes with them!
I dont mean to be negative but i dont think ur going to be able to keep off bb starting monday! :) I have found whenever i have made plans to stop or start something from monday onwards, it never happens. I was meant to start exercising on monday... hmm around 40 mondays ago tho!! I dont see any reason for u to cut back ur internet time anyway, u deserve to be doing something that makes u happy.. some good quality 'you' time! Cleaning can wait.. :)
Stoked- All the best for ur scan in 6 days!! How exciting!! I still manage to scare myself with bad thoughts so i really dont think the fear goes away... i guess u just gotta go with the flow and appreciate every day that ur growing a healthy little baby!
Forshelby- Thankyou for ur hospital bag list, ill add the things to my list! Have u heard that the breast soothing pads are good?? Ive never heard of them, do u just get them from the chemist?? Did u also get some nipple cream??
Oh if ur going to the toilet heaps baby is on its way! Well from what ive heard anyway! Is dp on a strict no alcohol ban this weekend just incase?? :)
Angelfish- Is ur dp keen to start ttc again?? How are his kiddies with little Miss Honor??
AFM- DH is home for his week off! Yay! Not much else happening. Hopefully going to go and do some baby shopping tomoro, i really want to buy a cot, change table and pram so i feel a little organised!
Dh being home also means DTD daily, which im happy with, it wld actually feel a bit weird not doing it daily when hes home since its what we are used too. But what i dont like is when baby starts kicking around during it.. its kinda off-putting! I actually had to stop dh a few weeks ago cos i just cldnt handle it! I honestly just feel like a baby making machine now, my bbs arent leaking or anything but i still dont really like dh going near them, and theres no way he can go 'down there' with all this CM (TMI!!) Dh loves foreplay but with my baby making machine body a lot of things are a bit off limits! Poor bugger! Oh well hes still content by the end of it.. :) Anyway enough of that talk!
Have a good weekend girls! xxx
-
Kell- Sorry i just took forever to do that last post and missed urs, kept getting interrupted!
My baby gets hiccups atleast 3-5 times a day, it feels really bizarre a lot of the time cos when i sit down it vibrates thru my bottom since baby is head down! Its normal.. and apparently it isnt annoying for them like it is for us.. thank goodness! And no to the full bladder! :) x
-
Thanks girls
Have fun baby shopping tommorow Reet
I know what you mean i get turned off when hes moving around while were mucking around and my boobs are too sensitive so off limits. Poor man think hes dreading the first few weeks after bubs is born as no action for him haha :p
-
Reet~ have fun baby shopping.
kellbell~ Hiccups are normal before Honor was born it was like clock work everyday when she would have them. Even after she is born she still has them it normal just think about it as your LO is practicing breathing that is what i got told by the OB its from.
Dory~ i know it will be hard but i dont want honor to be an only child
-
sorry for what im about to ask ladies butttttttttt
im too scared to have sex with dh :( i know it wont hurt the baby but will i be sore or bleed? i feel really sorry for him, ii mean 12 weeks with no action must be hard for him!!
-
Kellbell-Hiccups are a good sign that bub is drinking the fluid and practicing their breathing every day this last couple of weeks little miss has them and at my u/s the doc said she is a little guts and is always drinking.
And i had to have a full bladder at 32 weeks for my scan which was silly because then they made me empty it as it was pushing bub out of the way and they couldnt get a good shot i would say dont be full but dont be empty just have a normal glass half hour before you go.
Reet- my 3 boys i got mastitis really bad i was just to engorged and the bubs couldnt latch without tearing my nipples to pieces i tried expressing some off before but it made no difference i got really sick i had a rash all over my chest and temperatures i was in agony even the midwives brought me frozen cabbage leaves and a bottle of formula but this time i am taking breast shields and going to try again but i know how sick i got before so just being prepared.
And my frog was cute now it's the size of a toad lol lucky i have no stretch marks to ruin it.
And DTD while pregnant is still great but not as good we can only manage the one position and it's getting boring as everything else is just to hard or my belly is to big and the cm isnt a problem DH loves it EEWWWWW! but my boobs are so not sexual at the moment and i hate him touching them it feels really annoying if he tries to so i just distract him to down below:lol:.
Dory-God i forget to reply to some of the ladies at every post sometimes i just have nothing to add dont feel bad sometimes we just need to post without persies.
Reet-i forgot the nipple cream everyone is swearing by is lanshilo in a purple tube not the cheapest but it is suppose to be awesome and dosnt need to be removed before feeding bub.
Alish-if you have a normal healthy pregnancy then no sex will not harm your bub it is actually good for the uterus when you orgasim the uterus receives extra blood flow i have been a nympho with all my pregnancies i cant get enough of it but with this bub i have had to be gentle because of the position of the placenta but we still have sex and i have orgasims the baby is protected so as long as you have no pregnancy complications dont hold back this is a time for you and your DH to be close before bub comes and have some intimate time together and the orgasims can be more intense when pregnant a great side effect of pregnancy.
AFM-13 DAYS and counting.
-
oh my god 13 days ferrals you must be so excited!
thanks for your advice! i never knew it was good for you, well i knew it was good for you haha but not in that way!
when we had sex with the ectopic it made me bleed and be in a lot of pain! i know its not even the same things but im just a worrier thats all!
cant find the motivation to get off the couch and do my housework today, someones stupid dog barked ALL NIGHT last night and im having really intense dreams i just want to sleep all day :D brett wouldnt be impressed haha!
did any of you ladies have a bassinette for the baby when they first come home? we have a cot in the next room but im debating a bassinette?? is it worth it? im leaning more towards no but there is always that little voice saying get one!
have a great saturday everyone! yay! i love weekends! finally the weather is nice here! xoxoxox
-
Alish-like i said as long as it is a normal healthy pregnancy then its fine there are women who have m/c and blame sex or something they did to cause it but if the pregnancy is normal and healthy they will stick i have had whooping cough ,chest infection , knee surgery a really bad flu you name it i have had it during pregnancy and nothing will budge my bubs when its a normal pregnancy and then i had a pregnancy i m/c at 7 weeks with and there was no reason just wasnt ment to be.
And i have always had a bassinette or cradle for the 1st few weeks but my bubs started sleeping through the night after only a few weeks so i moved them into their cot in their own rooms not long after i have a beautiful cradle for Ella in our room i hope to get at least 6-8 weeks use out of it.
AFM-NESTING HAS HIT WITH A VENGENCE!!!!!
I have cleaned the laundry done all the washing and ironing cleaned out under the stairs cleaned the shoe rack got rid of all the shoes no one wears anymore i have even ironed a weeks worth of school uniforms for the kids i have stripped our bed and washed our sheet's cleaned out the linen cupboard cleaned the coffee machine and now i am forcing myself to have a rest before i start again.
-
just a quickie!
Reet- I got the gel breast pads from bras n things for 5bucks, bargain! If you dont have a store near you I'm happy to get some and post them for you. I dont have nipple cream yet tho, hmmm. And yes, DP is on a strict no drunkness regime lol. I said he can have a couple of beers but needs to be under the limit jic. Daily DTD? I'm worn out just thinking of it! We can't remember the last time we got it on, but luckily he's fine with it. I told him if he wants to I will but neither of us really feel sexy right now lol.
Ferrals- yay getting so close! 9 days for me omg!!! I'll check out your tummy pic as soon as my internet is up and running again.
Kellie- enjoy your scan, I didnt get a 32 week one, spewing!
Alish- go for it woman :)
AFM- having some really sharp twingey pains around the cervix type area, and peeing like a trooper! Our friends came over last night with a cake with 10 days to go on the icing :) soooo sweet!! I'm getting all edgy just waiting for things to happen, argh! Oh and my man flu seems to be easing a little bit thank goodness!
-
forshelby~ i am so excited for you that the time is getting closer.
Ferrals~ i loved the nesting feeling my place got so clean i felt better after doing that.
alish~I had the same debate inside about a cradle and we do have one and it had come in handy. So that the LO can sleep in the same room for when they wake the frist few weeks. the cradle that we have actually was made for my bf when he was a baby and has been passed along.
AFM~ Honor is doing well she is starting to sleep almost all the way though the night.I got my frist actually smile today and not gas. We have a routine now call me lazy but about 2 in the afternoon Honor will cry i will feed her she will wake if i put her down she wants to take a nap with me it the best part of the day.
-
ferrals - wow! nesting indeed! i bet youre buggared! good effort!
yeah i think im going to give the bassinette a miss, as much as hers is so beautiful i just dont think ill use it, our cot is so gorgeous it would seem a waste, our room is big enough to put the cot in anyway if we really have to
forshelby ahhh 10 days!! eek! how nice of your friends :)
mmm my housework didnt get too far, my friend came over about 11 and has just left so im starving & then ill get back into it :)
angel - yay for sleeping through the night, i bet youre feeling better, not as tired etc etc.. and yay for first smiles :):) i would cry lol
-
Well my mad cleaning turned into cleaning the microwave the pool table i polished the stainlees steal fridge toaster and kettle vaccumed the floor upstairs and down and now i am having regular painful contractions i hope it is just a little false labour like my last son but i think i will go have a bath and see if they settle i am not allowed to dialate in case i bleed so i hope they stop.
Forshelby-9 days OMG! any minute you could go.
Angelfish-awww mum and daughter time i cant wait until it's my turn.
-
ive finally finished mine too, but your post just then reminded me i have to clean our fridge and all that, eh it can wait til tomorrow!
yoove probs overdone it today thats why! youre a trooper! mm a nice bath sounds like an excellent idea!
-
OMG - it is SOOOOOO exciting hearing Forshelby and Ferrals on their countdowns.....
Forshelby - I recommend that nipple cream too, though it can help promote nipple thrush ( warm moist environment)... I just used it when I needed it rather than every time. God it was a lifesaver. It's ok to be antsy..... just go with it. And I love the cake... those friends are keepers. Good that the flu is easing.
Ferrals - love the belly girl.... I just love the idea that little Ella is in there and almost ready to come out. Hope you have an easier time BF'ing this time around.
Reet - too funny about little YOGI.
Cheshire - good to see you're still checking up on us.
Stoked - good to see you're still following too.
Alish - yay for 1st trimester completed! And all the sexies. My poor DH was on a drought from weeks 10 to 37... poor bugger. I LOVE our bassinette.. Hannah still uses it. Her bedroom is at the other end of the house and we don't have a monitor yet, so bassinette works a treat. I like it as she's close by. Initially you'll find it hard to sleep with bubs close by as they are quite noisy in their sleep, farts included. LOL. But you get used to it. I like being able to reach out and touch her if she's starting to fuss, as she usually goes back to sleep. I like not having to bolt to the other end of the house if she wakes up screaming ( she usually doesn't wake up crying or screaming). I like being able to peer over at her in the mornings and either see her fast asleep or smiling up at me. So I'd recommend one if you afford it. But be sure to get some mattress protectors! Poonami's can strike at any time. Her bassinette is also on wheels, so when she was little we could trundle her around to be near us. The other thing? They are so tiny when newborn that putting them in a big cot just seems, like there's too much space. Well I thought that. In the end it just works for us, but we all have to find our own way.
Kell - GL with your scan....
Got to go, not having a very successful attempt at our afternoon nap.... again.
-
dory youve seemed a bit flat in your posts after the last couple of days, but that one you seemed like your normal self!
yeah you make a good point! i still have a long time to go so i will think about it a bit more! brett dosent care either way so thats good!
eh i have to cook dinner tonight, i haaaate cooking dinner :(
-
Kell- I think my dh will die not getting any for 6 weeks after baby is born! Oh well...!
Alish-Can understand ur fears and worries! But i think u will be fine DTD.. if ur a bit unsure just tell ur dh that u only want it shallow! I had a bit of a bleed at 14 weeks so it was shallow only for a few weeks til i felt safe enough. And there shld definitely be no pain unless u have thrush or a UTI!
We bought a second hand bassinette. If u can get one cheap or for free i think its a good idea to have one.. i wldnt want to spend heaps on one brand new since baby wont be in it for very long but i honestly dont think i wld be able to sleep without the baby in our room for the first couple months! Ive even bought this thing that baby lays in and can sleep between u in bed.. its like a big soft bottomed thing with cushioned sides.. i wld like to think we will be tough and not have him/her sleep with us but we let our little puppy sleep with us for his first 4 weeks so i know we will definitely be suckers for a tiny little beautiful baby!
Ferrals- I hope u slowed down this arvo after ur mad cleaning spree! Ur body was definitely telling u to take it easy. I hope ur tummy is feeling a bit better now and ur not getting any more painful tightenings. No wonder ur all prepared to possibly formula feed, what u went thru b/fing sounds awful and very painful!
And yes i so agree with it being annoying when dh gets touchy feely with the bbs! Mine arent overly sensitive or anything but when he goes need them i just feel like hitting his hands away! I feel like that when he starts having a play down below too.. not sure whats going on with me! We can still manage our top 3 positions.. him on top, me on top and spooning altho the him on top is getting a bit awkward if he forgets about my tum and half lays down on me! Just curious whats the only positon u can do now??
I will definitely be getting myself some of the lanshilo then! Just from the chemist??
Forshelby- Thanks for offering to send me some of the gel pads but we have a bras n things here.. hopefully they stock them! Are they actually meant for sore bbs from b/fing??
That is so so nice of ur friends to bring the cake over! They are definitely keepers! I hope u let urself have some :)
Hi Dory and Angelfish!
AFM- Had a good old time baby shopping today, didnt actually come home with anything but we know what we want now. Only problem is its so expensive! The cot we chose is $770, change table $300, and the pram $500. The cot we want is just beautiful. Its white and has 4 posts with lovely fine netting around it, it looks so pretty and cosey! (we also have mozzies here so the netting will keep them away!) And the pram is the Baby jogger City Mini, we wld LOVE to get the City Elite instead but its $900 and we cant quite justify it! (or afford it!). We decided to think about it all over the weekend and put our order in on monday.. the lady said it cld take up to 6 weeks for the pram and cot to arrive so we better get our butts into gear!
One of dhs cousins had a baby a few days ago and i just found out she had gas, 2 epidurals and pethadine and still really really struggled! It kinda frustrated me hearing that, this chick a few weeks ago had written on fb something about labour and bring on all the drugs.. and thats exactly what she did! I know i shldnt really be commenting cos i dont know how painful labour is but i dont think its the right frame of mind to go into labour with cos ofcourse no amount of drugs is going to help if u go into it thinking u are going to need to be fully dosed up for the whole thing! Am i making sense or just being nasty??! I dont have a birth plan but i wld love to try and get thru as much of labour as possible drug free.. (whether that be only a bit of it or most of it) I think with that frame of mind tho ur more likely to be able to tolerate a bit more pain whereas if ur trying to get drugged up with the first little bits of pain ur definitely going to struggle as the contractions get worse! Plus a lot of ppl arent warned about pethadine.. a lot of the time the baby comes out blue and u can also have trouble feeding for the first few hrs because u have basically drugged ur baby as well.. which is exactly what happened to dhs cousin! My mum has the attitude of the more drugs the better..no point putting up with unnecessary pain, and it really annoys me!
Anyway im just ranting on here, has it made sense tho??! :)
Nitey nite girls xxx
-
Reet you have a great attitude. i have had 4 bubs and i tried gas with DD1 and discovered it was much better as a thing to bite on than suck hehe. Child birth is not painful so no drugs needed :)
Tho some nights when it all goes ferral after dinner...i could use some Gas then to keep a smile on my dial :o
Ferrals: Slow down women!
Go forshelby Go
-
Reet~ i felt the same way you did when it comes to pain meds ( not putting down women who do use pain meds) But i was in back labor from 5 am till 10 pm and i had one pain shot and they had to talk me into it. They said that the pain was making my bp up so i took it. The only reason i took the epidural is that i got really tired. then the baby heart rate dropped and i needed an emercery c~section. sounds like your shopping went well.
Ferrals~ your time is coming fast when it comes to mommy and baby time. I find that i forget everything else that is going on all the stress is gone. The smile did make me cry she is starting to giggle more in her sleep.
Forshelby~I keep coming on here to check to see how your doing.
Dory~ you are right that they are very nosiey when they sleep. Honor will start to cry then stop make sounds that i have never heard before. She will sound like she is yelling and toss her hands up in her air.
AFM~ Someone sent me a cause request on Facebook it was about child abuse and it was a bad case and i had nightmares last night. People dont understand that i will do the causes but i need time.
-
Morning ladies.
I had tightnings/contractions every 5 minutes for a good 3 hours until they settled they never got any more painful or longer in duration so i new they were not the real deal its just my body telling me to take it easy.
Alish-you just reminded me to do the inside of my fridge i did the outside but the inside is a bit how ya going!
Dory-thanks i hope i get to BF for Ella but if not thats ok i will try my best.
And i know DH and i lay here and feel her move and we talk to her and we cant believe it is only 12 days until we get to meet her:o.
Reet-the only position that is comfortable at this stage of pregnancy is me on my back at the end of the bed with DH standing dont get me wrong i like that postion as DH has great access to do lot's but just doing that same position is getting boreing i can get on top for a bit but i had knee surgery in 2009 and it get sore after a while with this extra weight and DH on top LOL he is a typical ex footballer built like a brick sh#thouse with a huge broad back and shoulders with little bum and legs but since he is not working has put on 10kgs and all around the belly so his belly is as big as mine no chance for on top action lol.
And save money dont get the change table and put that money towards the pram you get way more use from a pram then a change table think about it the pram will be used for about 3 years where the change table ends up being used for storeage i have had one with all my kids and only because it comes in the package but i have never liked changing babies on them it is easier to do it on our bed or the floor i use our change table to store nappies wipes bath stuff and thats about it and when bub is on the floor you can get up and go get something without worring bub will fall.
And my 1st labour i had everything because it was soooo long 26 hours and bub was distressed and my BP was 200/150 so they tried to relax me to bring all that under control it all wore off by the time i was ready to push so the 2nd and 3rd stage were natural and drug free my other births were drug free all the way and not as painful just really uncomfortable more than anything so i suppose everyone has different experiences and different pain thresholds.
Tegam-I will I will i dont know what got into me yesterday but my house looks lovely now just to keep the kids from undoing it all.
Love the comment on the nights that go ferral lol that is why my boys got the nickname ferrals 3 they were not naughty they were good kids but they got into everything and caused plenty of mayhem the 3 of them never got bored together.
Angel-sorry you had nightmares must have been pretty awful reading that case.
-
ferrals~ your right about the changing table. I dont have a changing table i feel safer changer her on the floor i dont care what anyone thinks about that. I have gotten looks when i say i dont have one
Yes that case was horrible the 2 year old was abused for awhile by her moms bf and her dad was away in the war three days before he came back home her moms bf and a friend had killed her by tossing her in the air and letting her hit the floor and come to find out she had been molested sorry for being so graphic but they went more into it.
-
hiiii everyone!
well we dtd and it was fine haha! im a bit sore but i have a sensitive area down there! poor dh didnt last very long hahahahahahah!
reet - thats a great attitude to have, i remember when i was 14 and my sil was having my nephew all i could hear was screaming and i cant do this and i was like omg im never having kids EVER! but im not sure if she even took anything for the pain, i think my sister did, im going to try not too but im a big sook for pain so i dont really know
oh my god angelfish i know the one youre talking about i balled my eyes out, plus it was right after i lost baby #1 so it was just too much, what kind of people could do that? :(
ferrals - i still havent cleaned the fridge haha! im not going to either :P
i keep having dreams everynight that im having a boy! does anyone analyse dreams or believe in that sorta stuff? although, the baby was not dh's in the dream i had last night, whoops haha!
REET - those things you put in your bed are on catch of the day right now for $19.95! if youre interested :) i love that website
-
Ive never heard of that website, ill go have a look now! :)
Be back soon!
-
Reet - Mildez will probably have something to say about pethadine too, but it depresses the baby's respiration.. personally I would try to avoid it.
Forhselby - oh sweetie - this is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO exciting. Hugs, I know it's tough for you right now. At least the weather is more bearable.
Alish - thanks for noticing, I have been down.... hard times emotionally at the moment, coupled with both Hannah and I having a cold. I realised just how glum I have been when I just felt so happy today, and realised that was more like my normal self. Mojo is back!
Angel - glad that Honor is sleeping well, it makes the world of difference.
You guys are crazy with your nesting... I never really got it, but then even if I did, nothing I could really do about it. LOL, making up for it now. Speaking of which - time to go and do more housework or play with H.
Lanisoh is just from the chemist and I would recommend getting the smaller tube.
-
Let Me out_mpeg1video | Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Check out what my DH did for me sooo cute it looks better if you dont enlarge it.
-
too cute ferrals, thats when i miss being pregnant! go ella
-
Wow Ferrals Ella is so strong - thats beautiful that video. are you going to miss being pregnant? or just happy to have her in your arms
Ive only heard bad things about pethidine - i flat out refused to have anything other than the gas. No way anyone is putting any needle in my spine and not being able to feel half my body i cant think of anything worse. but thats just me i know everyone is different and has diff pain thresholds
My change table i never used either just ended up storage as well lol :)
I lovvvvve my bassinet and have shared it with my SIL for her bub a few months ago. I needed Ella right next to me but i was scared of rolling on her in the bed so the bassinet was perfect. got about 10 weeks out of it. i couldnt put her that tiny in a big crib. i cant wait too have my son in it too
Reet i know a friend that only lasted 2 weeks and they had done the deed again- i made my DP wait the six weeks out lol. My OB said he had women come back preg at the 6 week check up i was in shock :o
Yah Dory getting your Mojo back
Come on forshelby we need another new bub to be born in this thread hope its soon for you!!!
ONE MORE SLEEP till we see our little man - no sleep for me tonight i cant wait
-
Oh Kell- so excited u get to see ur little man again tomoro! And how good is it now that we dont have worry before we go to scans, we can be excited instead! I wish i cld have had the 32 weeks scan, i wld love some more pics! The ob said i wld only need one if my placenta was to low at the 20 wk scan but everything looked fine. Bugger! Is there any reason why ur getting it or is it just routine with ur ob.?? Enjoy every minute of it!
I cant believe ur ob. said some ppl are pg at there 6 wk checkups! I definitely wont be telling dh that! haha. If im feeling good enough and not sore i might give in at 4 weeks but i dont want to risk infection or anything like that. I never want to go back onto the pill cos i think it really stuffed my body up so we will have to be careful not to fall pg too soon!
Ferrals- Oh what a beautiful video! Ella is a strong little girl! I get good movements kinda like that but only up near my right ribs where babys little feet are kicking. Ur whole tummy moves!
U made me laugh so much when u said ur dh on top doesnt really work too well cos his tummy is as big as urs, haha, wont be long til urs will be flat again and u can start to spice things up a bit!
Alish- Woohoo for dtd! Ur lucky dh! I actually prefer for it to be a quickie rather then a longy especially since i havent really been in the mood this whole pregnancy!
Thanks for that website too! I went and had a look, I actually bought myself one of those things a few weeks ago, its a bit different tho. I wish i hadnt bought it now cos it cost me $50 secondhand, $160 brandnew, i cld have gotten a bargain on that website! Oh well... :)
Dory- Thanks for letting me know u get the nipple cream from the chemist!
Well girls u had almost convinced me not to buy a change table but ive thought about it and i reckon we will use it. Theres no beds close by that i cld change baby on and we let our doggies inside occasionally so i wldnt want to worry about them running off with a pooey nappy or something if i change baby on the floor! The only other flat surface is the kitchen bench and i think i wld rather stay away from that! especially since i havent had much experience changing nappies so it cld get messy! :) I think i wld also prefer to have nappies, creams, wipes etc all in the one handy spot. In a few months i will probably be saying i shld have listened to u girls but oh well i guess its something i have to realise myself! Thanks for ur input tho :)
In regards to drugs during labour, im all for it if the drs are recommending it for urs or ur babies wellbeing or if u really feel as though u need something to get thru it. But i just think when u go into labour thinking that u are going to need all the drugs u can get ur hands on thats exactly whats going to happen! Like dhs cousin.. she had to have 2 epidurals cos after the first one she cld still feel pain! I dont think any amount of drugs is going to take the uncomfortableness of labour away!
Kell im with u.. i dont think i wld like to have an epidural and not be able to feel half my body, im someone that likes to feel control of myself! With saying that tho if i had to it wldnt be the end of the world!
Ive told dh all about the bad side effects of pethadine etc so hes pretty against it so i know he will be strong during labour and only allow me to have drugs if he can see that i really really need them or if a dr strongly suggests it.
Even during my m/c i was having really painful contractions every few minutes where i wld be on all 4s in horrible pain.. (i guess it was just like a very mini labour!) my mum was telling me over the phone to take panadol or something stronger to ease the pain but i really didnt want too. I wanted to experience and feel what my body was going thru.. does that sound stupid?! I didnt even wake dh up when i was at my worst at 3am cos i knew there wasnt anything he cld do and i felt as tho it was something i needed to get thru myself. I was always the same with periods too.. i wldnt ever take panadol to ease the cramping etc. cos i liked being able to picture what exactly my body was doing.. like the uterus contracting to expel the blood etc.(haha yes im weird!) Im just hoping i have the same attitude when im in labour!
Anyway enough rambling from me!
Nite nite x

Kellbell-I missed being pregnant after having my other children but with Ella i dont know if i will i have had a very stressfull 1st few months and an uncomfortable last couple but i must say i love the whole process of pregnancy it is wonderful how they grow.
Pethadine is the worst i am allergic to it and codine i have my last 2 boys totally drug free and it was awesome.
Have fun seeing your little man again.
Reet-i was like you i went into my 1st labour open to what the doctors recomended and lasted the 1st 16 hours with nothing i had no choice when my BP skyrocketed and baby was getting distressed i had to try to rest so said yes to the drugs pethadine never again it was horrible anyway i have no choice with Ella i have to have a spinal and pain refief after so scarey.
Alish-to be honest she moves waaaaaaaaay more some nights looks like she is going to climb right out of me when DH took that she had been going crazy and by the time he got the camera she started to settle down but it looks cool hey!
I have to keep myself away from ebay while DH isnt working cause i love buying stuff on there and love the excitment of getting packages in the mail lol you can tell i am bored being at home.

Ferals - seriously, that is just the most gorgeous and amazing footage. Hannah Bear had much more room in her little house inside and her movements were hardly anything compared to Ella. I am so glad to have been able to watch her.... can see why DP titled it "let me out"..
Alish - oh no for pukies x 3 before 6.30am! Hope it settles down.
Kell - enjoy your scan today.
Forshelby - might text you, you're just not on here as much as you were....
Reet - too funny about DTD and you're welcome about the cream.
-
Forshelby-What's happening anything exciting? have you beat me to the delivery room yet?
-
Ferrals - I haven't had a response at all from Forshelby... I am thinking she's at the hossy.... or is that just wishful?
Oh to add to the change table posts? We got one for Hannah, but it was a desk from Ikea with adjustable legs. So at the mo, they're up high so help with my old back, but later can be lowered to be used as a desk. It was cheaper than the change tables in the stores. It has heaps of room. We just got a change mat and put on top. I also use it to store nappies and washers and blankets. It's big though. For us it was the right thing to do. No way after a caesear and all that inactivity I had on bed rest, would I have been able to constantly get down to the floor to change. Sometimes we have put Hannah's bath on there too. But maybe it's also an age thing? This ole body ain't getting any younger.
