Thanks mildez when i see the OB in 2 weeks i will see if i can push for 37 weeks which is what i wanted because DS3 came early and i had a few false labours so i am worried i might go into labour and have an emergency c section where i would rather a planned one and be on the table opened up if i hemorrage they are already in there so no waiting around for staff ect and then less blood loss.
This is soooo scarey.
ss.....everyone was worried and asking about u. im so glad that ur precious little boy is ok and i hope there arent too many dramas.......its so good u went with ut intution and new something was up with his lack of movements
clairesmummy.....yeah it defiantly gets better in the second tri. I have the odd moments still but its manageable.

Anyone have any experience with child support and an injury payout?....desparetly need some help....this ex stuff is really stressing me out and ruining my pregnancy
Melster-DH and i are going to court over his ex and child support we have been battling her for 4 years now and have had enough of her lies so we are having it out in court.
And i have received an injury payout from a car accident so i will give you any advice i can just ask away.

Forshelby- Grrrr at the annoying ppl u have invited to ur baby shower! Maybe ppl are just lazy and havent bothered to rsvp. Good on u for organising one in the first place! Im not having one.. mainly cos i have a lot of different groups of girlfriends and also i just dont really like the idea of ppl feeling as tho they have to bring presents (the same reason i didnt have an engagement party) I know u can make them fun and play some good games but im not even into game playing either! Yes im boring! :) Dont let it wreck ur bday.. have u got anything planned for it? A dinner with dp maybe?? Thats if he can finish work early enough ofcourse!
That sux that u have GD.. but u dont make it sound all that bad.. except for the fact you cant stuff urself on all those naughty foods! Good that u can still have everything in moderation tho.. it wld kill me if i had to stop all chocolate etc.!
Ferrals- Oh please try not to be too scared.. Enjoy ur last few weeks of being pregnant! I think u shld definitely try and push to have ur little girl at 37 weeks tho just to be on the safe side.
Melster- I hope ur ex dramas get sorted soon... u dont need anything or anyone bringing u down! Pregnancy is such a special time for u.
Clairesmummy- Sorry to hear ur feeling so shocking :( But yes ur right only another 6 weeks and those nasty symptoms shld start disappearing! I hope tomoro is a better day for u.

Hi to everyone else and a BIG THANKYOU to everyone that popped in to wish me luck with that nasty cyclone! As u all probably know Cairns ended up being fine compared to a bit further down south, thank goodness! Its awful seeing the devastation that some of those little towns experienced. Im so glad there werent more deaths from it.. i think if Cairns had been directly hit there wld have been more fatalities since it is much more highly populated then the areas that were hit. Its so sad that there are a couple of ppl that did lose their lives in it :(
We were without power and phone reception until today.. its so nice to have it back!! :)
Anyway onto baby talk.. i did my GD test last sat and got my results back a few days ago, they were all fine (yay!) except my iron levels were a bit low. I have an ob. appointment (i get to see baby.. another yay!) on wed so ill ask him about going on supplements. Is it normally just a couple of iron tablets a day does anyone know??
Baby is still moving all the time.. i am absolutely LOVING IT!! I dont think i cld ever get sick of it! Altho i dont love it as much when it kicks or punches my bladder.. oh isnt it the weirdest feeling ever! I cant even explain it to ppl that havent been pg.. its not nice at all tho!
Better jump off, feeling a bit tired after having a busy day cleaning the pool which was absolutely full of leaves and starting to go green from not being able to turn the filter on.. i also got into more scrubbing and cleaning of the walls today.. im on a roll! Lets hope it continues onto tomoro!

Sorry ladies but the rest of this one is about me. again. :rolleyes: I think I might be losing some of my mucous plug. Yesterday and today, (TMI warning) when wiping I've noticed some change in the usual stuff. I'm getting some small but noticeable gluey like globs of um, yeah lol. No blood etc and it's just kind of cloudy and reminds me of glue. I've had nothing like this sonce getting pg. Just the creamy stuff. Tonight while having a shower I had a slightly larger more noticable glob. Soooo sorry for the TMI, but is this a normal 35 week thing?
I've also had increasing low down pelvic pains. Mostly when trying to walk or standing. It's sharp at times but only brief. Is this bubby engaging?? The pressure down there seems to be increasing. Thanks in advance! And of course belly rubs to everyone. :)

Sunshine and Stars: So relieved to hear that your baby has made it through delivery and that your doctors could respond to your instincts and get him out so he could get special care. What a lovely name. Glad you are getting to hold him. Sure it is great for Obed's recovery too. I hope you get only good news on his test results and he keeps getting stronger each day.
Forshelby: You seem in tune with what's going on. Trust yourself. Maybe see your doc? It does sound a bit suss for symptoms that let you know baby is coming but i guess there could be other explanations. BUt i would get checked out.
Reet: Glad you are ok. Very impressed with your burst of cleaning energy! May as well use it while you've got it!
Ferrals: It must be hard to think about all this information without getting a bit freaked out. But it sounds like the general message is that if this is all well planned mums and bubs do very well. Praying you have a smooth run with minimal dramas.
Alish: Yukko! Sorry you've been feeling cruddy. Not long to go and hopefully the nausea will settle a bit.
Damprye: It must be hard planning you u/s when you hoped to have DP there. (I thought you had made up again but i must have got it wrong). I hope that you will still enjoy your scan as you get to see your beautiful babe.

AFM: Still very tired. Sore bbs. The usual! Feeling really hungry or thirsty sometimes and can identify very little that i feel like eating or drinking. So frustrating! I'm usually a sweet tooth but have really gone off biscuits and choc since about 6wks so i've actually lost 1kg since i fell pg. Oh, and I have the wierd pg dream thing happening. DH has 'got lucky' twice in the middle of the night following on from a 'romantic' pg dream! He's thrilled because it's been rather a drought otherwise! I don't usually have those sort of dreams!

My next drs appt is on Tuesday so I will mention it to him then. I just have this strong feeling bubby will be early which I can't shake off lately. My waters aren't leaking or anything so I'm not worrying, but it definitely feels to me like my body is getting ready for the main event. My back feels achey and bending over makes me feel like I might pee myself hahaha. Suddenly I feel sad that I won't be pg much longer. I've really enjoyed it, even with GD and low iron and this crappy summer heat.
Sorry about my selfish posts, I promise to go back over the last day or so and do some quality persies lol.

To all the other ladies about, I wish I had something to say that would help your anxiety. To be honest the only thing that got me through the early weeks and gets me through now is the advice of the ladies in here. I remeber feeling so very ill with M/S and then haveing a major panic when it eased off. What can you do!

Forshelby: sounds normal to me. You plug will usually be blood stained as your cervix opens....probably just a hormonal surge at this stage! Not long now tho!
Just checking in, ladies... I hope it is okay if I still chime in and share from time to time. Today was a good day at the hospital 'cause I got to hold Obed ("obie") for an hour, skin to skin, both of us naked from the chest up. He, he --no more modesty here-- though they do use screens...but still.
The big news...Obie had a bowel movement...God love him. This is good because of the neuro-muscular issues that he is having. Both mommy and baby had bowel movements, which is good (LOL) since mommy is taking major narcotic for pain relief. The cesearean incision seems to be healing well...the biggest thing is that it is icy outside and everyone is afraid that I will fall and break the incision open (to be honest, I am a little scared too.)

PS Someone asked where the name "Obed" came from-- here's the quick reply-- Obed is the first son of Ruth and Boaz in the book of Ruth, in the Hebrew Scriptures (old testament) of the Bible. Ruth and Boaz had a beautiful relationship; it is believed that Boaz was an "older" man and Ruth was a younger woman. Their story is written in the book of Ruth and reminds me of my relationship with my husband, who is so much older than I am.
S&S Obed sounds like the perfect name and Obie is just such a cute nickname. Great news about the bowel movements. Such a big step in the right direction woohoo.
Forshelby how is the back pain going? My labours all started in the back and I'm sure this one will be the same. As for the show I'd say its normal increase in discharge. A show should have colour in it also. I'm sure your right and your body is getting ready for the main event.
Arrr I'm so exhausted. So over working. Just wish I was 38weeks already so I could stop work. I think DH and I have figured out how we will manage in the short term financially. Just hope it can be put into practice. And bring on July until I apply for the gov maternity allowance.

Forshelby-I have been having that also and heaps of it the midwife told me its from pressure on the cervix from baby it has increased cm 10 fold and i am forever going to the loo and wipeing it's so gross.
I lost my plug with my first son 4 weeks before he came and it was like a big jelly glob streaked with blood and pink it was Yuk!
Kmm-I hope you are right i have this awful feeling me or bub wont survive and me being the one more a risk i am worried about my DH and boys without me and having a new baby to look after.
AFM-just finished work and i am buggered.
ferrals...thanks........i have been searching and searching and cant find anything on the net or on child support.....about the rules of what the ex can claim out of his injury payout.................the ex has gone for a change of assessment...and for what ever reason when hubby recieved his payout last yr she couldnt get any of it.......now she might and i just cant understand the rules.....she had two kids and we had two kids at the time of his payout...she was arrested for child abuse so got none of his money. now she has made the kids come back home for the last two months and we think only for the money..but sd is at a friends....so she has three under her care...we have a phone confrence with csa in a couple weeks..and have disputed all her claims in the assessment...seriously she deserves nothing as she doesnt provide for the kids....i just wanted to know what she is enititled too if anything and how it all works.....were worried she'll get our investment....does it go by what we got...or what we have left....its all so confusing...we know they have to get a court order to get the money out our joint account.....is that how far they will go.....she owes us money and we never got it so how does it all work
Melster-If the payout is for a workers comp injury claim and it is for lost wages then it is classed as income and subjected to child support and your DH will have to pay an arrears on that but if the claim was nothing to do work or to cover lost wages than she should not be entitled to any of it as it is for compensation for your DH future needs ect..
As for any investments you have together if his share of it has come from his wages is also subject to child support but if say it was an amount left by a relative or winnings on lotto ect then they cant class it as income and cant touch it but they can class any interest made as income so can go for a percentage of the interest it is all pretty tricky the best thing i can sugest is have it changed into your name only and say it is your investment that you had before you married hopefully they wont look into it but they cant touch anything that doesnt have your DH name on it.
Child support rang us and enquired about our new car and selling it to cover DH's child support as the car is in my name they cant touch it also DH's money is in my bank so they cant touch that but when he works they can garnish his wages.
And it doesnt take much for them to go into his bank and take money they did it to my ex when he refused to pay now they periodicly check his account and take a percentage of what is in there so have all your money in your account that does not have your DH's name on it.
We have put DH's child support on hold while the social security appeals tribunal look into it and then we are going to court as DH's ex is being a bi#ch aswell we have provided proof of payments on the mortgage in 2006 when she was living in the home and DH was not we have house settlement papers proving DH gave her 65% of the sale plus all the contents and he also took a hardship payment from his super and gave it to her for the house child support ect and she is objecting it saying it was his part of his obligations and he should have paid it plus child support DH gave her $6500 in cash plus an extra $13,000 from the sale of the house and his claim was excepted by child support until she put in an objection and now they are only excepting $2900 of it and trying to get him to pay $3000 he doesnt actually owe and they have admitted he doesnt owe it but as the debt is on the system he has to pay it before the $2900 will be credited to his child support HOW DUMB what he owes is what he is in credit and he gets a penalty every month for not paying but he is unemployed so has no money.
Anyway i have rambled on the best advice is get the money out of the joint account until it is all resolved and if the payout DH got is compo from work and covers lost wages it is classed as income so unfortunetly they can make him pay some of it to her basicly anything you have to declare at tax time as income is subject to child support so everything on your DH's tax notice of assesment is classed as income if it's not included in his taxable income then child support dont see it or know about it to put it in his assesment and your 2 kids together will reduce the amount payable.
I hope that helps a bit but if you are worried put it all on hold ring the social security appeals tribunal in sydney and they will look into it all on your behalf and it goes to court.

I am sorry that Obie isn't well right now - I can't begin to imagine just how tough it is for you right now.... but never stop believing and never stop having faith. I know that you and Obie can get through.
Glad to hear you're physically healing.... it's a tough recovery huh? Seems your milk has come in? Yay for swollen engorged breasts! Are you leaking all over the place yet? Pump like crazy it helps. Kangaroo care is just so good for you and Obie.
I am sure the Drs & nurses have already told you, but Obie won't be able to suck for a while yet, and his lungs will take some time to get the hang of things too but it's excellent that he's not ventilated. What a strong and clever little boy he is. Irrespective of his health, you would have celebrated every single moment with him, so do so now, it's nothing more than you would have done anyway.
