Hi girls, I have been having some really shocking cramping, going to just try and take it easy for the day, not that I wasn't already! They seem to have settled down now, but I was getting a little worried. My hospy bags are all packed now, except for the baby stuff - realised we actually don't have anything because I haven't felt ready to get that much for now, except nappies. Not that a Brissie summer baby needs much more! Anyway, working on that now.

Hiya all - I have been busy with my Mum visiting so haven't been on for a while. All going well here.... am on the watch list for possible pre-eclampsia due to a cluster of symptoms recently, but it's not in the definite stage at the mo. It might just be a bad case of CANKLES and elevated blood pressure ( DH reckons my mum might make my BP go up and me become uncharateristically cranky...LOL) I feel well and robust and am enjoying waddling and generally love being UTD. Am now going to catch up on what I've missed out on in here..... oh excitment plus here 35 weeks gone and 35 days to go...

Dory -You must be feeling excited now. Hey how is the numbness of the hands (fingers)...you mentioned that in previous posts, and that reminds me on mentioning about numbness of my feet (legs ) and occassional left hand...is it pregnancy related???
I tried finding-out in my pregnancy book (what to expect...) = but no clues????/

Ric - today for the first time I felt tingling and numbness in my feet. I stopped to talk to a local "special guy" and had trouble getting away from him. Standing still for so long must have done it.... I presume it had to do with the oedema/swelling in my legs and feet affecting the circulation? I will ask the Obs at my appointment tomorrow. Tingling in the hands can be caused by fluid retention in the wrists which compresses the carpal tunnel/nerve, there can be other reasons but generally to do with nerve compression.
I started out with tingling/numbness in only some fingers and only at the tips and only occassionally. It is now pretty much constant and involves all fingers and most of each finger, but not usually the thumbs. I have spoken to the obs/mid wife and physio about it. You can wear a brace or wrist compression bandage ( like the sports ones you get in the chemist). The physio said for me, probably not worth it for only 5 weeks and gave me some exercises... basically finger wiggling/waving/touching/clenching, making sure I raise my hands above my heart regularly, and also waving my arms around generally to try and disperse the fluid. My hands ache and are hard to move in the mornings but that does ease. I have read it gets better over the course of the day but not for me. Patting the cats does help! So they are more than just emotional therapists now. Preparing dinner does not. I have had to adjust how I do some tasks as I don't really have the same strength in my hands, but that's not hard to work out. Physio also suggested alternating hot and cold immersion finishing on cold, but I haven't done that. Reminds me too much of recovery from sports, which I miss but did it used to work wonders for muscle fatigue and recovery and reducing swelling. There might even be an article about it here on BB. Hope you don't get it too bad. Oh - remember to put your feet up above your heart and wiggle them, and do ankle rotations. That might help your feet. The glories of our much longed for pregnancies!

AFM - I'm going to work today. Doesn't sound like much, but I've had more days off over the last month than days at work. I'd been doing well when at work, but ended up collapsing in a heap too often when I get home, both physically and emotionally. So a bit scary this morning, thinking about my 1pm start. Balled my eyes out last night thinking about it, DH doesn't know what to do poor fellow. I just don't know how to deal with 'not coping' with the work load. Previously I've pushed my body to it's limits, but now, with bubs on board I'm so protective of my health. Well, I'm polishing up my armour and getting back on the horse. And I don't know whether I want to change jobs because it is high and mighty time, or whether it's just been this exhaustion thing. I've got a suspicion that it's time. Will find out today at 12noon whether maternity leave benefits can be transferred to a new job that I"m thinking about applying for. :crossfingers:
Anyway, have our 12 week U/S tomorrow, just a LIIIIIIIIITTTLE EXCITED and :crossfingers:
Summer is here! I'm in singlets and shorts today, and have been out on our outdoor couch doing my nails. I love mat leave! We're flying to Melbs tomorrow though, not excited about hitting that world of cold!
I'm getting really tired again - about 10:30 every morning I have this incredible urge to go back to bed. I'm sleeping fairly well, 8-9 hours a night, but then just get soooo tired again through the day. Some days I have a sleep, especially if I've been exercising. I thought it was too early for this kind of exhaustion!
Since we're all talking dentists, I'm going on Tuesday. I love it there though, they are so lovely. I'm actually just seing the hygienist, but the dentist always pops his head in to talk about bikes. It's pretty cool.
Sneaking in girls got a BFP last Saturday morning - ive been for blood tests this morning so a nervous wait till monday -

I had a question - my GP said i could have a scan wed at 6 weeks is it worth going or should i wait. i think i have ovulated quite late as took 4 days after AF was due to get my BFP! i just don't know what to do!
Kellbell congrats honey!!!! Ultrasound is totally up to you, I waited untill 7 1/2 weeks, so I could see a heart beat. Don't think you will get to see a HB that early XX
Girls the dentist was so scary at first but they were all so lovely. Got my tooth checked, all good. Had my teath cleaned and they feel great, no more pain since then but I have the worlds most agonising headache today, so going to go hae a nana nap XX

I had to have a scan at 6 weeks to see if it was in the right spot after the ectopic and it wasd really hard to seethat it was there but not have that reasurance that it was viable (hate that word) but thats what it said on the report. blah blah blah...can not confirm viability as not heartbeat picked up! Which is normal but scary!

Audax - I have the same problem - it seems the better I sleep at night the more I need to sleep during the day... today I went back to bed after my obs app, and slept until the arvo.... I was trying to avoid that headache and heat... and it mostly worked. I am not sure I think I look hot, but DH does, and he tells me all the time. So sweet. As much as I want to meet bubs, I think I am going to, in some ways, miss being pregnant. It's a pretty special time to know you're growing a little human being and person and to watch your tummy move around while this new person does their own thing...

AFM - Obs was at pains to know my plans for the weekend ( and approved them and told me in essence not to go too far) and also told me twice he was on call.... hmmm... I wonder..... Heat was LOVELY! who in blah blah likes maternity jeans, no matter what pair i try they will not stay up! Bring on the summer maxy dress i say! By then you will be holding your baby, going for walks to the park! Oh that cute bum in the sun time!

kellbell - welcome honey! I stuck it out til past 7 weeks for my scan too, saw this little prawny thing and its little heartbeat and had a cry, but to be honest, it didn't really do that much to reassure me. It wasn't til I got to the 12 week scan that I started to believe it, and I didn't really get excited until the 20 week scan.

Kellbell So good to see you in here!!! I knew it was your turn as well! Can't wait till all the others join us over here :) Personally, I would wait till 7+ weeks. The stress of seeing no HB again on my first U/S left me in tears and wasn't worth it for me. Then again, the elation of seeing that HB at 7.5 weeks after convincing myself there wouldn't be one was so amazing I couldn't stop crying lol

Audax - welcome to Melbourne and this beautiful chilly wind. How much exercise to do manage to do? 98 days to go, but not counting. thanks for sharing your tiredness symptoms. I'm guessing now that I'd need extra rest during that time, I so overestimated my energy level for the 1st trimester.
Kellbell - Congrats congrats. You definitely not crashing, chat when you feel comfy. Cute little preg. ticker. I know I'd wait for little heart beat if you can wait that long, that was so reassuring to me. The technical side of our 6 week 5 day scan ended up being pretty hopeless, the doc. was running out of gel and didn't get a clear pic and couldn't even measure the crown rump length, the pic was so blurry. I didn't care about all that, we had a tickity boo heart beat, 124b/min.
Coddy - yeah for the dentist.
Dory - to me your our leader, 35 weeks and 4 days!! Wow, that sounds so far away. A bit more baking to go, but like Tegam's little one, sounds like you are in good territory.

AFM- I'm really proud of myself. :dance: Chatted with the bosses yesterday. I'm going to work 2 days per week until maternity leave kicks in as one day's work and it knocks me around so much. Nausea goes up, can't slepp as well and generally increase in exhaustion from being on my feet for 8 hours. And I found out 18weeks parental leave (from the government) occurs on top of my 10 weeks leave from my employer. Yeeaah :clap: 2.30pm scan today, sssooooooo curious. Defnitely got DH with me. Hanging out for a connection, just really haven't done the bonding thing yet. Totally not looking forward to the full bladder, reaaaally do they have to make you do that? They need some new technology, I'm just thinking that's going to be uncomfortable. I'm sure I only pee about 100mls each time I go at the moment, I've been told I have to have 3-4 cups..... come on.

We bought him a super cute black romper suit with white stars on it, and DH is very excited about all the monkey climbing and tiger pouncing and bad guy hunting in his future :) Very happy and very relieved!

Dory sweet hows your Kitty going? Mine survived their desexing, my poor little girl has a couple of sutures that need to be removed next week, and she has a bald tummy! My ginger Boy woke up angry, seriouse! We had to seperate the 2 cats for 24hrs because my boy woke up trying to kill his sister, he wen't mad from the anasthetic, but is back to his usual self putting paw prints on the bonne of my car GGGRRRR!!!

Timeforafamily how did your scan go!?!? I was told I needed a full bladder, then had to 'Half empty it' then fully empty it for the scan, so just depends I guess.

Tegam - My bladder wasn't that bad in the end, and I knew there must be a better way.
AFM - well 12 week scan went really well, yes definitely bonded. Had to stop crying and laughing so the sinographer could continue. Just was so surprised to see a little 'IncuBubs' in there. DH calls me the incubator. So have had lots of belly rubs and belly kisses from DH since the scan.
After we calmed down from the initial shock of seeing a BABY in there, no just a blob, we were then provided with some entertainment from IncuBubs with a full roll over, Wow at 12 weeks. more tears, just a hopeless mess. The guy showed us the cross section of the stomach and said 'Looks good, shows that the 'fetus' is swallowing', what??? Wow, again at 12 weeks, go figure! :hello: little one you little cutey. And the spooky 3D image, no fat at all.

I know what you mean about seeing so much at 12weeks. I remember thinking, wow i cant believe its a baby! I think the US guy thought i was weird, but i had had scans early say 6 weeks before and then 20, never at that 12 week mark!

Murraycod your post made me post lol its actually only the 2nd time I have stalked so not bad. The first was a few days ago to see if anyone was in here super early like myself. I think by my dates I am 6wks1day today. We had a scan last Tuesday that showed the fetal pole measuring .33mm or maybe cms. The FS put me as been 6wks then but the CRL definately wasn't as big as a 6wk one so I am still going by my dates. LMP put me at 6wks the date of the scan. And no HB which I guess is normal considering I think I was about 5wks3/4days at the time. FS said I can have a scan at 12weeks so it feels like a very very long time away. I saw him basically to confirm this pregnancy wasn't ectopic so he see's no reason now that is confirmed its not for me to have another before the 12weeks. I am just so anxious to find out this pregnancy will progress and am really worried I'll have that scan at 12weeks to find out emby has stopped growing with no HB. I am terrified actually. Although its so early I already feel we have come so far just getting pregnant and then it not been ectopic. If something happens I think I'll honestly just give up. So right not I am abit of a mess. I didn't expect to be so anxious and thats why my posts have reduced on the forum as frankly I am ashamed of how I feel. I know some of the other lovely ladies in the LTTTC threads would give an arm or a leg to be in this position and all I can do is panick as my ms isn't bad enough or my boobs dont hurt as much as yesterday etc. Its such a mind game for me at the moment.

Murray migraines can be cruel. I had my 1st one when I was pregnant 4yrs ago. It was so bad my speech was slurred, couldn't walk without running into things it was horrendous. I hope its passed completely and doesn't come back. Since then I have had a number of them and there nasty nasty things.
The 12week scans are amazing. You can see so much. It feels like a lifetime away for me lol. Half way there (from LMP)

Soooooooooooooooooooooooo tired i had to start work at 6am and it has knocked me for a six i prefer the night shift i can handle them better.
Murrycod-good to see you are still around i feel great except so freaking tired and i am still suspicious if there is another bub in my tummy my uterus feels about the 12-14 week size and i have had enough pregnancies to know i have never felt the top of it before 12 weeks and it is already the size of a rockmelon and i am only comming up to 9 weeks i guess i will have to wait and see at least i know bub is growing in there.
Timeforafamily-i use to love my 12 weeks scans until Abbi's one devastated me now i am terrified of this next one i hope i leave mine as happy as you did yours they are amazing to see if you get a good u/s tech the one i had with Abbi at the fetal medicine unit could look in her mouth and up her nose at 18 weeks it blew us away even though the outcome was bad DH and i have some beautiful memories of Abbi sucking on her toes and holding her feet in her hands soooooooooooooo cute.

I had ZERO symptoms other than major strong AF cramping untill I was 9 weeks, once the cramping passed, i was just a little more tired than normal. So that made me worry so much more, I begged to be sick every morning, I can't beleive I wished sore boobs and morning sickness on myself!!! Never got it though, I must thaught, the more I feel sick the more pregnant I would be, wasn't the case!!!! I still don't really beleive it to this day LOL !
Anyways, I fully understand the fears of the huge gap BW 6wk scan and the 12wk one, just chat away oin here with us and hopefullt time goes by a little quicker for you, or we can atleast make you smile at our foul nature we bring long with us (pregnancy porn is Ferrals specialty) (Audax only encourages her more so she is just as bad in my books!!)LMAO (mabey I can relate..........only a tiny bit though!!!)
Ferrals I can't beleive how time has gone so fast for you, I pray every night that your CVS result is perfectly normal, oh and as for dreams, I have dreamt 2 nights in the past week that I have been out surfing and have been bitten on the legg by a HUGE shark, considering I live 6 hours to the closest shoreline of Australia, don't think it will happen any time soon. I guess your dream is just your mind sifting through your thaughts, conciouse or not, but minds deal with things their own way when we sleep XXXX

I had an ectopic in Feb so i can relate. I had a scan at 5weeks and then had to wait til 12. It was a bloody long time after no seeing a HB! You could always go to a new GP and get a referal for a scan... They dont hav to know you have had one!
