hi thought i would pop in and say hi and see how you are all going.

ferrals- i am so glad things are looking good hun, i really have everything crossed things are perfect! and flutters are such so wonderful to feel, theirs going to be plently more to come!

murraycod- lmao! i wish my dh was like that! i am happy to do that myself, but he is always wanting to join that party! i tell him you dont see me shaving your beard lol.

mildez- great news your scan went well, always a relief seeing them doing so well.

dory- not long now hun, oh i cant wait to see your BA! good luck hun xxx

afm- well im such an inpatient person, i booked a non referral scan for friday to see if bump is a girl or boy. bump has his or her legs crossed last week, so hopefully at the 3d/4d scan on friday bump wants to be nice, also taking my pa who has come over from vic to see bump friday and he's very excited!
not much here though still plodding along, m/s has its good and bad days, and tiredness still here i end up in bed before dh! already had some leaky bbs but they only leak when they want to lol. and starting to feel more and more kicks which has me so excited each night before bed i stir bump up so i feel him or her lol.
so glad bb is up and running now no more withdrawlal symptoms lol

Tegam-I know talk about bad timing i came straight home from my cvs jumped on the computer to tell you all how it went and when i saw it wasnt working i freaked out by tue afternoon i was ready to throw the copmuter and cry all i wanted to do was tell you girls we have a glimmer of hope that so far bub looks normal and i couldnt even do that grrrhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!! DH was stressed and on the phone to big pond telling them to fix it lol we were told it was telstra having problems oh well we were wrong.

Hey bushy girl have you managed to mow down those pubes lol.

Dory-i cant believe you are still pregnant after all the worry bub doesnt want to come out lol hope it wont be to long now.

AFM-feeling good belly not to sore no more cramping so fingers crossed come on results!

A me post today :) Sorry for no persies!

afm - We still don't have our internet connected. They were supposed to contact us when we'd been approved, but hubby had to ring up last week just to find out whether we had or not, so not happy in that department. I want to know when they're coming around to install everything so I can make sure I have the money ready in my bank account to pay for it all.
So I gave in and bought a bit of pre-paid credit this week.

Other news, I have been feeling little flutters just behind my pelvic bone for 2 weeks now! So excited, but I haven't been entirely sure that it was the bub... thought it was gas at first, but that feels ENTIRELY different lol

Still taking it easy, chowing down on lollies and chocolate every chance I get, and have been craving CocaCola for the past 2 weeks as well lol, I know it's not good for me, but it helps ease the MS soooo much!
Speaking of MS, it seems to be fading a bit, I now have more good days than bad days, and the last 4 mornings I have been waking up feeling pretty good and wide awake for a change lol

I've been busy busy busy trying to get a few bracelets made for some lovely ladies I know who lost their bubs, but it's been freezing cold in my study/workroom (aka the mess hole lol I swear I have no idea how I find anything in there it's so messy) and I haven't been able to spend much time in there, means I'm stuck on the couch being bored the rest of the time.

I had a bit of pink spotting this morning and some AF-type cramping, but it has cleared up now.
I have a scan tomorrow afternoon, as after the scare the other week after the rugby game I called my OB's office and spoke to one of the lovely midwives there who asked me to come in and get a referral for a scan. When I told her about my GP refusing to give me the 12wk scan referral just because I didn't want the bloodtest she told me it was stupid and my GP doesn't know what she's talking about as the 12wk scan isn't just for the NT, but also to measure bubs growth and to make sure that everything is developing normally.
I also got to meet some of the other midwives and had a bit of a chat with them, and they are all so nice and friendly.
It was a really great experience. I get to see them again next week, on the 22nd, as I have to see a midwife and get assessed etc before I see the OB, but they said they'd try to get the OB in for a chat on the day since it is one of the days he will be in.

All in all it's looking like it will be a really good birth experience

Also, planning on heading to the melbourne show with DS and hubby on the 26th, so if anyone else is heading there on that day and wants to catch up we should organise it now

Ferrals - oh sweetie - I am so so very happy for you... that is such positive news. I'll bet you're just waiting by the phone for the first lot of results.... have you thought about how you'll feel if you're have a girl? Or a boy? Just curious.

I sure can relate to having a "painful experience". I've not had a cvs but the stitch removal was pretty uncomfortable ( my stoic word for very painful) at times.

And poor MC - now I have that visual image in my mind.....

Murray - I am so excited for you 20 week scan ... how exciting. I just love the fact that you can't reach your "wig" and I love the fact that you have no waist - pregnancy in all it's glory. Sorry you're doing it tough at work - hope the break helped.

Jenna - glad the M/S is easing.. and that you've felt the flutters. I reckon it's one the best feelings ever. I still adore feeling ( and watching) bubs move around. I wonder what they are doing and thinking and feeling and sensing. It is truly just amazing.

Ashie - poor darl with your m/s.... but awesome news about going for a scan with your pa. I hope you both get a real kick out of it. I am starting to feel like I need the patience of solomon whilst waiting for the action to start here. I suppose for me I never expected to reach this stage of gestation -39 weeks - and the past week has felt longer than any I remember recently ... just waiting. In a way I feel impatient, but then I don't because I do enjoy this indulgent lifestyle I have at the mo - no work, lots of rest and cat cuddles. Although I am trying to re build my stamina up by doing a little bit more around the house even though I have no motivation, and do a little more walking and started some very gentle preggie exercises. I wasn't allowed to do that stuff before the stitch came out.

Tegam - LOL - you were in a panic about nothing! No news here... I was going to txt you that there was no news here, but then BB came back on line. How are you going?

Mildez - glad the scan gave you some reassurance... are you up to getting a ticker yet?

I don't seem to be getting the emails that advise when there's a post, even though I've previously subscribed to this thread. Is anyone else experiencing that?

Well got a call from the geneticist the tests have been slightly delayed as they have been sent to south Australia for testing that is where Abbi's liver sample is so i wont get the FISH results until tomorrow or friday grrrrrhhh!!! so annoying and the main test for the SLO gene will also be delayed bye a few days :o i will be almost 14 weeks when i get the results to late for a normal termination if the news is not good.

Dory-if the bub is a girl i will be totally shocked i strongly believe it is a boy i dont know how i will be if its a girl will i constantly be looking her and wondering if Abbi would have looked like her.
I would love a little boy for my DH as he doesnt have a boy and i have 3 i got to have my girl even though only for a brief time she is still my girl.
But i really dont think about the sex to much i just want to know for both sides of our families.
I cant believe you havent had that bub yet cant be to much longer.

AFM - SPud is still here, 5 days past EDD..... no plans on going anywhere I think, just way to comfy! Over the past week really, I have been experiencing lots of aches and pains, and BH, which last for a couple of hours at a time, only to have them stop again. I am SO OVER THIS now, as it is so uncomfortable to even sit or ly down and I am so TIRED! Spud, please come out now, PLEASE!!!!!

Just checking in...had a little trouble finding you all in the past few days-- but happy to find you tonight.

I had my NT scan last week and the results came back better than expected...negative...and my estimated risk was 1:378 instead of 1:38 for Down's...Given that I am 41 on Friday, the staff said that my numbers were good and they aren't recommending the CVS given the good scan and my history.

So we breathed a little easier and I finally announced officially this past Sunday. I was doing pretty good with not worrying so much, but tonight, for some reason, I am more freaked out. I don't have another appointment (ie scan) for 3 weeks...so I've got to wait.

I can't wait until I can feel movement!

AFM-Well i am not happy the geneticist rang and the 1st words out of his mouth were I am sorry to tell you but we are off to a bad start.
My heart fell to my feet i thought the worst then he tells me that the doctor doing our testing dropped the cvs sample :o WTF how can they do that he said they dont have enough of the sample left to do the FISH chromosone test and might not have enough tissue to do the SLO i just burst into tears i can't have another cvs i wont risk the baby if it is healthy.
Anyway they are trying to grow what tissue they have left and hope it is enough to test in 10 days time.
Can you believe our bad luck after all the sh#t we have been through and they drop our sample not someone elses ours how much more of this can we take.
I wont have another cvs or amnio if they cant get results we will just wait until the morph scan and go from there as i will be 14 weeks by the time the cvs results should be ready so what is a few more weeks to wait for a scan.
Do you think i am making the right choice?

oh ferrals! that is terrible!!! For what it's worth, I think you are doing the right thing. If this little one is as healthy as s/he looks to be from the scan the other day then it would be insane to risk further invasive tests. It does make the next few weeks incredibly difficult for you whilte you wait but I suppose you have been through this for the past couple of months and more so you know what to expect. Everything crossed for you hon, I hope they're able to get some results for you from any tissue growth they're able to get. :hug:

Sunshine - Awesome result! It's so great when they tell you you're low risk, isn't it? I remember laughing with glee when I saw some of the crazy ratios for my risk, like 1:100000(ish) for (don't quote me on this) is it edwards syndrome?? Ugh, pregnesia here... it was the last one on the list anyway. It is a bit nerve wracking when you have a few weeks until your next appointment though... My next one is in just under 2 weeks now and I'm eager to hear this baby's hb!

Ferrals-ABSOLUTELY you've made the right decision. Remember, no amount of testing will change the simple truth that your baby will be as it is, and that's that. I would cry, too if they destroyed my sample, especially knowing the risk and angst you must've gone through to give that sample.. ugh. Hugs to you, hun. How awful it must have been to hear, and scary for the dr to say it the way he did! FWIW though I really think you're doing just wonderfully, and as long as you are doing what you're comfortable with, then that's what's most important.

AFM- Having an emotional day today.... being forced to go to jobsearch interviews is not easy, not when they keep eyeing off my little bump. I just felt really demoralized standing in that office, with THOSE people, when I know dang well nobody's going to hire me because I'm pg! On the up side, I don't have to see them again for another 13 weeks. That will make me 27 weeks, which will only give them 2 appointment slots to harrass me with until I'm off their books and no longer having to look for work because I'm so close to delivery. Still, it's just embarrassing even having to go there, and play along. I felt like a real failure today, and I shouldn't because I was GREAT at my job and only had to leave due to harassment. *SIGH*

Ferrals what a booboo. I can assure you your not the only one that this happened to not that it makes it any better. What a shame after all that. In saying this they still have some sample and I am sure they can get some results even if its not all the ones they were going to test originally. And bubs NT is so low thats a fantastic sign without any other tests. Yes I'd be angry and upset to after all you went through to get it and the reasons you had it done in the first place to not have all the testing done and have all the results but I guess try to look at some of the positive signs. I am sure you will get your beautiful take home baby from this pregnancy. I wish this had been easier for you. FX they can get enough results to give you the piece so mind you need and should have to start enjoying the rest of your pregnancy well before your Morhology scan.

Ferrals I agree with LittleOnes. If it were me in your situation I would probably be thinking along the same lines as you (hypothetically speaking as I could only imagine what you are dealing with right now). You seemed to get such great feedback from your scan and you went through so much with the cvs that you had, I think you have every right to want to just wait it out a little longer. Poo on them for dropping the sample, how pathetic is that. I would be so cranky and upset right now. I really feel for you at the moment. How much does one person have to endure, honestly. With saying all that, I really don't know too much about all this. Sending huge hugs to you hun. I hope it all works out just fine.

Our daughter arrived at 10.14am Saturday 11th September 2010....

She weighed 6pound 14oz was 49cm long, HC was 33cm........

Ferrals: I was all for the Great News post, then read that they DROPPED it.... How on earth they could do that, that is just shocking. I think you've made the right choice not going again. We had to make that decision with Adurey when we were 16wks, but we couldn't go through with it. I think you are a very brave/strong woman with everything you have had to go through.. I think not doing it again is the right choice, as long as you are happy with it....

So happy to see everyone else going really well... Can't wait to hear from Dory and Milly5...

Might go and right a BA .... never thought I'd be doing that, very excited....

Milly - I get an inkling of how you feel....I feel similarly. Had an Obs appointment today and bubs is no where near engaged. For some reason that really disheartened me. As the due date draws near, I have fewer pre labour symptoms and an escalation of my fears. Had a good chat about my fears today, fortunately the Obs understands. Since last week he hasn't been overly keen for me to go much beyond my due date, and I agree. Today he tentatively booked a caesarean date for next thurs to see how things are going. Today I realised I have almost no real confidence in my body to do the right thing by bubs to get bubs safely here, and hence the escalation in my fears, well one of the contributing factors. So really am feeling sorry for myself...but DH just called to say hello and I feel more cheery now.

I hope spud works out soon that it's much better to have mummy cuddles than belly rubs.... wishing you some action!

HPL - congratulations my sweet on the arrival of your precious little one. Enjoy writing that BA - can't wait to read it - I just checked and nothing there yet, but given we posted at the same time, you can[t do everything at once!

Oh Dory you break my heart sweetheart!! You're body is doing what it needs to do, just coz bub's isn't engaged yet doesn't mean he/she isn't going to come soon.. I had my MW appt on the Friday afternoon, and told them I was having contractions, they said I wasn't far enough along yet to be having her, and well they were wrong.... Your body and Bub will work together, and you know what, if it ends up being that your body needs a C-section then so be it... As long as you - MUMMY - are healthy and so is Bubs then that's all that matters... It shouldn't matter how he/she comes into the world!!

Please try and cheer up because before you know it your bundle of joy will be here and all these feelings will disappear.. I know you're scared and thats natural everyone in here will say the same thing, but try and focus on the fact that you are so so near my sweet and everything will be okay!!

Dory dory dory......i feel a lecture is coming your way but i need to cook dinner now...so to sum up! Go slap yourself and realise that your body has proven itself! Its grown your baby perfectly! It will birth your baby...when your baby is ready! Dont rush things now! You will hold your baby every day of its life (well atleast til its embarressed by your kisses at school drop off!!!) A few more days now will take a huge amount of strength but you have proven you are one of the STRONGEST women i know! I believe in you, your body and your baby! 40weeks is an average dory not and expiry date!

Saw an OB on a monday with Evie at 36weeks...Not engaged, infact she said "that babies nice and comfy there"!! Born in 2hrs on wednesday morning!

Ferrals-- Man, oh man, I can't believe they dropped the sample! :jawdrop:
I understand your decision; we have such mixed feelings about the invasive tests as it is! I pray that they are able to tell you something positively *good* after all you have been through. And I pray that no more tests will be needed for both of us! Because I feel like an "old woman" in terms of pregnancy, I dread these tests, so that colors my perspective.

HPL-- Way to go, girl! Congratulations! How exciting! WELCOME to the little one!:baby:

Dory-- Your body will do what it needs to do! We will have confidence for you and the bub if your confidence wavers. Holding you in prayer; not too long now and you will be holding your little one and changing diapers, and looking at the babe with stars in your eyes!

AFM-- I am still anxious for some stupid reason. I don't know why I didn't make an appointment in 2 weeks for a checkup. My husband says that we need to get a doppler so I will settle down some. Talk about needing some confidence.

On a personal note-- *warning* icky info ahead-- okay, so I am having lots of white stuff down there (discharge). What is up with that??? I haven't had much of this prior to this week. It's pure white. Should I worry more than I already am??? Or is this a normal 13 week kind-of-thing???

And opening up with lines "We are off to a bad start" well you would expect the worse, why couldn't the first words have been "We haven't got a result, we dropped the f***ing sample". Your decision is totally warranted, wanting to leave yourself and poor bubs alone, prodding and needles, aagh, get away!! Kicking and rolling around at the u/s, yii haa. Well, I hope the morph scan at 14 weeks gives some clear and definitive answers. You'll be able to write a survival guide on 'coping with not knowing' by the end of all this.

Stars and sunshine - do you live in Melb? PM me. I bought a doppler and would love to lend it to you, coz. I know it gave me massive reassurance that I needed in those weeks after the 12 week scan. For some reason that was the scariest time for me. That white sticky stuff, high progesterone levels or something, definitely a good sign. Goes with the I'm too tender down there don't come near me. Which then get's forgotten about several weeks later when it's get over here boy, coz. your going to get it. haha

Forshelby - I don't know how you are doing it. Discrimination is so real. I was looking at another job a month ago, and they said congratulations on your pregnancy, and then in the next breath, "We will transfer your annual leave and long service leave entitlements over BUT NOT parental leave entitlements". 'Congratulations on your pregnancy', yeah right! Just felt so restricted, job changing during pregnancy sucks.

Murray, you've got a special place in my books, I remember when i joined bellybelly in November, what we were both going through. I just looked at your stats back then and thought how on earth is it ever going to happen for her. And here you are, here we both are. (I'm going to make myself cry, happy tears.)
And Congrats to you for taking some time off, I hope it helps. I had so many names for myself when I decided to work 2 days only, 'princess' 'slack bum' etc, I think I was looking to justify why I put myself in a more 'precious' status than a lot of other girls who would just work full time, despite exhaustion and symptoms, right through their preg. I am influenced by my age, the concerted effort to get pregnant and the longing, aah the longing, to have a baby. One big reason I loved the IVF cousellor so much is that she just kept on saying take time off, reduce your hours, oh yeah and take some more time off... and I kept on listening to her... smile smile. Well, the flip side is the budget though. My solution, I've put a bit of pressure onto DH to increase his income, I think he is coping with the challenge.

JJ - I just read that low blood sugar increases nausea, so eat up. Don't know how true that is but my next shift I'll give that one a good trial. Dont' get much nausea at all at the moment except after work when I've been on my feet all day.

AFM - well better get back to bed now at this stupid hour of the day. Nausea settled after hot chocolate and jam on toast.

LMFAO FERRALS!! I love the way you say things! And for what it's worth I think your definitely doing the right in waiting til 20 weeks scan, which you could do at 18/19 weeks really. I can't believe they dropped the sample, that sucks so so so much. But your other results are just brilliant! And a dancing baby 12 week scan is really good! I really hope you can get the results from the sample, I think they'll be very reassuring.

Dory: Your definitely at the pointy end now, the good thing about the c/s date is that you have a cut off point, by next thursday - no matter what- you will be holding your squirming little baby. You said before that when your having bad days you say to yourself ''I believe'', well I believe too. We all believe.

Forshelby: Ack those stupid interview thingies are so incredibly demoralising! Hugs sweetie, you can get through it.

AFM: Going pretty well, Tiger is just a big bump of wonderfulness! I'm kind of in-between though, not getting the uni grades I used to get (which my mother said she tried to prepare me for, thanks ma!) and a couple of my friends who were trying or wanting desperately to try for a baby have withdrawn now that I'm showing, so I feel like the things that used to be part of my identity aren't really there anymore, but I haven't adjusted to new things yet. It's very limbo. DH is wonderful though, he supports me so much and makes me feel so loved and valuable. It's just sad that my happiness makes some people I love dearly unhappy :( And I did some research on baby brain after my second not so good grade, and it turns out your brain SHRINKS during pregnancy. So at least I have an excuse :)

AFM i am going back under the rock but still keeping an eye out for everyone here. I am 19 weeks and 4 days and still no real movment good hb thou. On tuesday i have my 20 week scan.

Hi guys, just stopping in briefly. Scan went really well.

Bub was measuring at 13wks! Finally it's grown a bit quicker lol must be all those lollies and chocolate I've been eating lol

Heart rate was 150bpm, so 2bpm less than the 9wk scan, but still all good.

AND.............. it's a little wriggler! It was kicking and wriggling and turning around in circles (not that there is much room in there, which made me a bit worried... its it normal for the sac to be slightly flat and jellybean shaped? Also, I could see the edge of the sac in the picture we got... that seems a bit weird to me!

Anyway, I now know that it is defiantely bub that I have been feeling moving, as while I was having the scan I felt some it's more energetic kicks and wriggles while I was watching them on the screen. It was so amazing! It's been wriggling all morning too, especially just after I finished my brekkie of Nutrigrain lol

MS is almost gone - only had 2 days out the last 5 days where I felt a bit queasy in the mornings and that was yesterday and today. Although, I was watching bondi vet last night and they made a dog throw up to get a g-string that it had eaten out of its stomach and it almost amde me hurl watching that.

Kit - isn't it the best time? Since 23 weeks I have just flt so lovely. The tiredness sort of wore off, physically I'm mostly quite comfortable, I just get to enjoy time with this wonderful little babe on board. Thanks for your birthday message, that was so lovely.

Our baby is flip flopping - it has turned head-up-head-down twice already today. Big gym session going on in there!

Hi all - I am back to the Dory most of you recognise - thanks for the words of advice.... and support. Just needed to sort through some things apparently. Glad the weepiness and glumness has gone... that was hard lonely work, getting through that.

Ferrals - I misread your post about the sample and went back and re read it. Oh babe, it is just terrible... I think you're doing the right thing... things are looking so good now for bubs and so different from Abbi's pregnancy.. I know you feel it in your ones that this pregnancy is different, and so it is. You can do it. Also glad to see you got your mojo bak with the "leaky box" comment and poor Ionas breakkie ended up where it shouldn't.

Kit - your brain is also preoccupied with directing very important resources to Tiger... so it's understandable that other things might slip. It is hard to adjust to a change in your identity. I sure have been through that with giving up work at 7 weeks and basically being house/bed bound. Thank God for BB. You are still a valuable and worthwhile person and you are doing something that is so very special right now - growing Tiger. And as someone said to me, when most people take mat leave, they have this identity crisis, you're just going through it a bit earlier. Sorry your friends have withdrawn, but babe, it's not about you, it's about them and what they can and can't cope with. Maybe they'll come around and maybe they won't, but it is absolutely nothing you've done. Still, makes it hard on you huh?

It's been really good to catch up with everyone. Sorry for no more persies. I am still feeling a bit drained, but I am def on the up again.. and looking forward to a weekend with DH, and if it's not raining we might even go for a little walk in the park, so very cool. Just wanted to let you know I am getting m mojo back.

So happy hun. For some reason you have the most cause to be stressed and down but you are normally the one holding everyone else together, Its ok that you needed a turn but so happy that you are on the up and up again!

Enjoy your walks and time with DH, nice that he is home now for a few days! End of pregnancy is hard enough without your history. Just have faith that you will make the right decision for your family, whatever that is! Thats the best any of us can do!

Tegam - thanks! It does feel good to have the mojo back. Is it hard in late pregnancy for most people do you think? I don't have anything else to go on. My MIL keeps telling me to rest and take it easy... which I am doing... but now the stitch is out, and there are no prohibitions on doing things, it's nice to think about doing some things. There's no way I could over do it, my body is very clear about when it needs a rest and I listen to it.
