Pregnancy after Miscarriage or Loss ~ May/June/July 2011

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts.
I had my scan and it showed a healthy heart beat of 141 and the exact size for the dates. I still have not been sleeping though. I have just started hypnotherapy and hope it can help me.

The Mrs - I can relate to many things on your post. I am at the same stage of pregnancy of you and have a 2.5 year old and morning sickness. I actually think my insomnia is turning into depression. I suffer from anxiety which has been brought on from the mc last year and the fear with this pregnancy. But I just don't feel myself, I am not as excited with this PG as I was with DD either. I don't feel as happy as I usually am.
Do you know if you can take medication when pregnant? I don't know if it is worth visiting my doc again (for the millionth time!).

Lauz..congrats on the scan results. Hows the hypnotherapy going? Are you getting any sleep?

Angelfish...i hope everything goes well with you're scan today. I was like that all the time so dont worry. Keep us posted

The Mrs..Even when things are going really well you always have that fear and are always checking. It does get easier the further along you get and the the more scans you have..think when i started to hit the 15-20 week mark i came good. My dd will be 3 soon and it is tough when you're feeling sick, hopefully there are people that can help you here and there. If you feel real low..maybe go to the dr and get checked out...i dont think i felt real excited about this baby until heaps later on when the fear started to ease and i felt the baby kick etc..now i feel alot more bonded with the baby..some dont feel it until its born. think its fairly normal

Well i have been quiet sick and have been throwing up in the last couple days...is that a sign that labour could be getting close??????..I am very very hormonal..very headachy and just feel terrible...im not sure if bubs is engaged yet. Lots of pressure down there but i dont think she is engaged. My body shape has changed but i dont think i have dropped yet. Been getting period pains but nothing major

Next week is my last week at work..wishing now that i had said this week.....as everything is becoming quiet difficult..got my ob appointment thur so i will see how everything is going.

Still havent 100./. picked names either.....

hi tegam! i know, cant believe i only have 11 weeks to go, im so loving being pregnant, feeling everything - sore/movements etc it really has been the best time of my life! i must say its getting uncomfortable to sleep though, sorest back!

i actually have no idea what you can take, im guessing some things you will be able to take, i know they wouldnt even give me cough medicine/cold n flu tablets and im still a bit sick.. going on 3 or 4 weeks now

all is good here, i had my ob's checkup on monday, all is going well and looks like about a 7.5 - 8 pounder for me.. nice size, doc says she has a long narrow head... SCORE! should make pushing a little easier.. lol.. ive only put on 7 kgs all up so far so im pretty proud of myself, i didnt really think it would be that much, its very evenly spread!
my nipples have started leaking, WTF?? it freaked me out, dh thought it was hilarious! i didnt realise it happened now i thought it would happen closer to birth.

Nothing happening here i'll be 25wk tomorrow. Time seems to be slowing down a bit & i've still not brought anything for Bambi yet.
Once i pay the OB i hope i'll want to start buying her little things.

Sorry, I've been MIA on work days - don't really get near a computer except for at work where I would feel guilty if I jumped on here!

Mel - so close!! Excitement time (and boring time when it doesn't happen, lol)
alish - time to buy some breast pads - watch out for sexy time leakage if you've started leaking!!
Lauz - if you want to start any meds, most of the anxiety/depression ones are not safe during pregnancy, go see your dr for some advice. I hope the hypnotherapy is working for some better sleep! Sleep helps everything :)

Chesire and India's Mum - glad things are boring, this is a good thing in pg :)

We're just in the pre-20 week scan holding pattern. Looking forward to seeing little treasure again, although by the boots I was getting in the belly yesterday s/he's still in there swimming around :) Love saying good morning to my bump.

Wannabemum...LOL i love getting on here while i am at work :D its always heaps easier than using my phone..my phone is quiet annoying actually. When is you're scan booked.....yeah i know im so close..31/2 weeks now and counting....its just a teaser because you question every pain and bump..constantly thinking will i be early, late..

Cheshire.....yeah kinda got my bags packed. Cant put some things in there because i am using or wearing them at the moment. Im hoping and praying i can throw some things in there when i start labour or get a little closer. Other wise mum or hubby will have to bring in. Just have to make sure my washing and ironing is all up to date so its not in the wash when i need it. Got some pressies for my DD from the baby and DD has a little toy for the baby and i have to get something else.

Hey Alish...how you going?? Im struggling with names this time and i havent told anyone..ill PM you...i dont know why i am starting to panick because im not 100./. sure..dont want to name her and then regret the name...maybe its just hormones..maybe because with DD it was so easy, no question and had it from the start. Didnt even have to look for names...Ob hasnt actually said a size yet for me, think im measuring a week a ahead. Dont think it will be tiny tho. thats great about the head. Hopefully she will slip right out :D ..with my cold i ended up going to the dr's and being put on antibotics that was safe..so maybe if it doesnt go away go to the dr's

Indias mum....i have 3 names but im not sure LOL i can see myself being in hospital and not having a name LOL......we did have a name picked but im not sure.

Hello everyone else

ATM......i have been feeling quiet sick and been throwing up for the last few days :rolleyes: its like when i first got morning sickness. and had a little bit of the runs yesterday! a bit of period pain and tightenings and some mild back ache......think my body is defiantly preparing but dont know if its just teasing me and ill still have a few more weeks yet. See the ob tomorrow so i will see what he says...baby is defiantly slowing down and running out of room. Im defiantly running out of energy and puff.......its defiantly dragging thats for sure, but i think because thats all you have to think about...its hard not to with all the symptoms and the big belly and the unknown...and because i havent experienced a natural birth either im starting to wonder about labour etc......

We get dads MRI results back today..not looking forward to that as i think he is going down hill a bit and im not expecting fantastic results.

melster~ your so close. Sorry that you have not been feeling well i was the same way with Honor the last few weeks felt the worse.

AFM~ i had my scan baby look prefect hb of 179. Got home from the scan did some house work went to the bathroom and there was a little blood i started to freak out and started to cramp went to the er worst er i have ever been to there was a room full of teens or early twenty year olds making fun of a mentally chanllge group of girls. The women in charge called sercurty and most of them got kicked out. Then i found out that there was a three hour wait and they did not have a ultrasound person in until the am. So i waited until am could not sleep went into the obs and the dr said this early with the doppler dont know if he would be able to find a hb so dont worry when he put the probe to my belly he found it!!!!! He said that the blood was old and that everything looked fine but he could not give me a reason says some women bleed with no reasons. So here i sit worried still

angel - sounds like it's nothing to worry about. If the heartbeat is still there, still strong and he said it was old blood - try not to stress out too much! I know that's pretty dang impossible, but just keep an eye on yourself - if it gets worse, just call him back straight away. How many weeks are you now?

Mel - Still got quite a while huh? Well, not really, but a few more weeks anyway. Don't put too much pressure on a name - there's nothing wrong with meeting your little girl first then deciding - she's allowed to be un-named for a little while :) My scan's booked for 7 July, so a couple of weeks still. Looking forward to it! I hope your Dad's MRI results are positive - and by positive I mean improving or stable.

had my ob appointment today and scan.......he said baby is 6 pd something and probably by birth 8 pd......the unforunate thing is now baby is sunny side up...great........why is everything heading towards csection.....dd was the same...i think my pelvis maybe encourages them to go that way....i defiantly dont want painful back labour.......ill see the midwife on the 7th and see babies position then and decide if i want to have the csection on the 14th....think at 11am or whether i try for natural..........im reading up on sunny side up now ansd its not sounding that great..especially with my previous section............

Angelfish.....im glad everything is ok.....sorry about the scare tho...it happened to me and i freaked out

wannabe.....they have to wait for dad to have another mri to compare....they have increased his swelling tablets because he thinks thats the cause for him not eating and drinking and the confusion so we will find out in the next few days......they have said they wont operate again but there are other things to do when the tumor starts growing again

Mel if by sunny side up you mean posterior then please don't let that put you off a VBAC.
DD1 was posterior & why it was more in my back it was also very doable. My labor with her was completely drug free & only 7hrs long once i hit the active stage.
In the end you'll make the right choice for you both & good luck next week :)

Saw my OB today & everything is going well, she s still laying transverse & i really hope she turns soon as i don't think my bladder can take it anymore lol

Life has been hectic lately so i've been reading but like a few others not posting so much. Sorry!
Angelfish: sorry you had a scare. As Dr says, bleeding can be normal so I hope that's it for you and no more scares. I've also lost track of how many weeks you are. Have you got another scan booked?
Melster: Sounds crummy with the vomiting and feeling icky. Does sound like your body is getting ready to go (unless you have caught a bug of some kind?) No wonder you are feeling over it all.
Lauz: Congrats on your pregnancy. Sorry to hear you are finding things hard going. I hope you can get some support via counselling (with or without medication).
THe Mrs: Hope you feel better soon too. FIrst trimester can be a very stressful time and hard to get excited when you've had bad experiences in the past. Roll on trimester 2!
Cheshire: Transverse? Ouch! Hope bubs turns around soon too. IKWYM about paying the OB: also ouch! I've got two bills due in the next month. OB has been good about letting me spread out payments though.
India's mum: How you going? Can you feel bub move much yet? I found that made the pregnancy more exciting (although i still stress at times about whether the movement is the 'right kind'). I felt like the pregnancy was going so slowly yet now I look back and think: wow, can't believe i've got this far and it's 10 weeks since my 20wk scan! Where did the time go?

AFM: fighting a cold i caught from DD (who has had a cough or cold in some form or other for 5weeks. Sheesh!) Baby had a couple of quiet days last weekend and I was stressing a lot but then it's been tapdancing again the last two days so i'm happy. Starting to feel more uncomfortable though: my tummy pulls and i have a sore spot at the top of my stomach and in my back, especially after sitting down for a while. Also started feeling quite breathless at times this week. I didn't remember that happening quite this early with DD but my memory may be a bit off. Will ask OB about it tomorrow. Also keen to know which way baby is lying: last time i was checked- 3wks ago- it was head up feet down. Getting excited about finishing work: 4wks to go. Hooray!!!

PM yeah it's so annoying! Both girls were head down at this stage so it's a whole new feeling for me.
Nothing better than the odd kick or punch in the cervix & almost every time she moves i need to pee It's ridiculous.
One plus is haven't gained a ton of weight & i don't look big because of the way she is :)

Just a quick poor me post. I had gastro yesterday and am still not right - I haven't tried putting anything in my tummy yet, I don't think it would stay there. Oh lordy, a lot of things are easier without a toddler.

Cheshire...yeah i have been reading up a bit on it...ill try some natural methods to get bubs to move the right way.....

Atm.......i seem to be sick once in the morning when i get up...this morning i ate oates and became sick and it came out my nose lol lol lol lo so funny but painful......i have heard some people get sick again...luckily it seems to only be when i wake up......getting period pains and dull aches but thats about it at the moment. He said bubs wasnt engaged...im pretty touchy and hormonal as well.....feel a bit upset but i think its just the hormones and end of pregnancy...think i want my body back...but the smaller body lol lol........i cant believe im going to have another baby soon.....wonder what she will be like....thinking about the labour and csection all the time so these three weeks will probably drag

Melstar / Alish - so excited that your bubs are so close! Yayayaya!!

Just wanted to let you know that DH's mum passed away on Wednesday, she fought a long and brave battle and we are so very proud of her. She stayed strong until the end and passed peacefully away at home in the arms of her best friend and her husband.

DH is doing so well, he is so strong! Our little man is missing his Grandma but we are so greatful of the special month that they got together becuase at one stage we didnt even think she would meet him.

Her funeral is on Tuesday so we are so busy with all the plans atm, its so hard. I feel so so sad but i have to stay strong for my baby boy xx

hows everyone going? hello to anyone ive missed.. its been quiet in here hasnt it

afm - all is well.. i need to wee every half an hour or so, doc said on monday that her head was down.. geez its uncomfortable sometimes, lets hope she moves for a bit! as i said to possum im finding it hard to sit in the car, i dunno how the next 11 weeks are going to go if its bothering me now! ive warned dh & mum that they may have to drive me to my obs appts from now on, seeing as though he is an hour away.. my next appt is in a month but after that its fortnightly then weekly i think??
im starting to get a bit freaked out..! excited but freaked out!
