Mine started at 16 weeks as well, but I also got them (even earlier) after adult cuddles . It's quite distracting... one moment its bliss, the next moment I have a hard muscly lump pushing out of my belly . The joys of pregnancy LOL.
Im not too sure what its suposed to feel like...had no pain except for a few times a stitch like feeling which I thought was my stomach muscles stretching to make room 4 baby...and sometimes my tummy goes hard but no pains...? Although when I went for my 20 wk scan the sonographer said she could SEE that id been having them?? So if I am getting them, im oblivious to it!!
With my first pregnancy I think they started around 30 weeks, but with the second they started about 15 weeks, they weren't painful though, just a tightening over the tummy.
Im sorry, I know what they are, but not sure what they would even feel like, with my first pg I had an emergency c-section, so I never got to have them.
Could someone explain to me what they are??
I was just wondering what BH actually feel like as this is my 1st pregnancy i have no idea. On Saturday as i got up from the couch i had a short but intense cramp in my lower belly area, it took my breath away & i had to sit back down. I've since had the odd minor niggly cramp but nothing to that extreme again.
Could that be the start of my BH possibly? I'm now 23 weeks.
can someone please tell me what they feel like and where you would get these pains?
This is my second pregnancy (10 years apart) and I have been getting pains for about 1 week now (I am 21 weeks) right near my pelvic bone area. I have also been getting fluttering feelings down there, which feels like it is near the vagina....Weird feeling....
Thanks in advance.
I didn't feel any BH in my first pregnancy. However with this one I have been getting them since around 21 weeks, but it took me a little while to work out what it was!
For me they are not painful. It feels like a very heavy feeling at the bottom of my tummy and when I put my hand there I can feel that my uterus feels very hard. It lasts maybe 10-20 seconds, then dies off.
As others have mentioned, for some people BH feel painful, but this doesn't seem to be the case for me.
Huggabug - they are like 'practice' contractions. Your uterus contracts to tone up. (I have heard that you can even get them when you're not pregnant!? But unsure of this as fact.) You will have had them, but possibly just didn't feel them.
Blueiris, it could very well be BH's that you are feeling. Perhaps though if it was a big pain it might be worth mentioning to your health care provider, especially if you feel it again?
Darz, does your belly feel hard along with the pains? Could be worth talking to your dr about too. Do you think the fluttery feelings are bub's movements down low? My baby kicks most often down near my pelvic floor. It was funny, on Christmas day I told my neice I was getting booted and she asked if she could feel it. LOL, I was 18 weeks at the time and told her she'd have to get miiiiiighty friendly with me in order to be able to feel these kicks
yeah I think it does feel hard. And i think that the fluttering feeling is bub moving. The pains arent painful, it is just obvious that they are there. I dont double over in pain or anything...its just weird....and the feeling has been there throughout most of the day for the past week, and it is mostly when i am sitting down at my dest at work...perhaps bub doesnt like me sitting like this....
I am going to the doctors this afternoon just to see what she says, better safe than sorry.....
Hope your appt went well this afternoon.
