Hi ladies..
I started feeling butterflies around well....16 weeks i think... then off and on until 20 weeks when i got the real deal! kicks, squirms and all! LOL It's normal to feel bubs off and on until it starts to get squished a bit! Now i can tell when bubs changes position etc... it's kinda funny! :) So don't worry if you haven't felt anything yet, everyone is different and it depends on how much room you have inside.. Thinner girls DO feel it a bit earlier than us rounder ones!

how long till you can see bub's feet and hands on the outside of your belly?
The other day I went to see my naturopath, and as I was talking to her, I could feel bub circling around in the middle. So she put her hand on my tummy to feel it. And as soon as she did that, I felt this rapid butterfly movement to my left!! It was so funny, bub ran away from her touch!

I'm 22 weeks and have only felt my baby in the last week or so. I am a bigger girl so maybe that explains it. I generally can always feel baby first thing in the morning, but generally not at all for the rest of the day...
I agree, it's a nerve-wracking thing!

It was like that at the start for me too, but now i can generally feel her when i sit and rest for a little, at any time of day... well unless she's having a nap that is ! :)

eeejay, I didn't really show with my first til over 20 weeks! :p People were starting to think I'd been fibbing about being pregnant!
As for flutters, with my first, I felt him about 16ish weeks? This pregnancy (13 weeks now), I reckon I've felt the occasional very faint flutter from about 12 weeks, but I recognise the feeling this time, where with the first pregnancy, I doubt I'd really notice this kind of feeling since it's so faint! I'm on the slim side, so perhaps that makes a difference too.
Something else to keep in mind is the location of your placenta. If your placenta's towards the front of your uterus, that will muffle the sensation of kicks, since it will be the placenta being kicked and not your uterus wall and skin. I know that people with the placenta at the front can often feel kicks a fair while later than others.

eeejay, I will be 17 weeks this week and I have not felt anything, am not yet showing and have not put on any weight so you are not alone. I thought I would start showing pretty early because I would be classified as skinny so I thought I have no layers to hide it but this is not so yet! I have been worrying about it but on the weekend it was my nephews 2nd birthday and my sister had her mothers group at the party so I got a lot of feedback and they made me feel a lot better about it all.
