The Glucose Test - did you refuse it?

Hi all, I'm new to the forum - I wanted to ask if anyone had ever refused the Glucose Inolerance test. I've only just discovered that you are well within your rights to (i came across this info on the Quirky GAPS Facebook group). Would love to hear others stories if they have done the same thing? xx

I never refused it, but I was a bit odd. I loved it and asked for more hahaha. I am sure you are well within your rights too though. It is your body/baby.

You definitely can refuse it. I didn't with either of mine, but especially second time round it kind of made no difference. I was fine both times, didn't need the test. I just didn't have GD. But, I'm overweight and have big babies (more so with my second, he was 10p5) so the Drs didn't really believe my result. First time was ok, but with DS I was supposed to be discharged after 4 hours and they made us stay overnight. Poor baby had to have a heal ***** every 2 hours to check blood sugars, which were perfect anyway.

That being said, I still won't refuse it this time. If the same thing happens again I do want that result saying we're ok.

I've had it with my 2,3 and 4th. It was routine when I had my 1st back in 2000. I'll be having it again in a few weeks although I doubt the results will be outside the normal range.

I had it with my first, but chose to have it despite my not having any riskfactors. I then didn't have it with my second, once again no risk factors, and my first had been perfect.

I have family history of diabetes, so had it for my first. Second, they said not to bother as I seemed fine. You can refuse any and all tests offered, including urine tests and induction.
