Hi Nell
At my 25 week Ob appointment, I had put on 12 kilos all up. I am sure I've put on more now being 28.5 weeks! I eat reasonably well but if I feel like something naughty, I'll have it for sure!
I thought 12 kilos was a lot at 25 weeks but my Ob wasn't too concerned. I have known some girls to put on 30 kilos during their whole pregnancy.
I wouldn't worry, as long as Bubs is healthy, that's all that matters. Makes you struggle though with the extra weight though doesn't it!! I can't believe the shortness of breath I have sometimes!

Hmmm i'm 20 weeks now and think i have gained between 10-12kg's.
I was already overweight beforehand so i know that in the first few weeks after bubbies born i'd like to work as hard as possible to lose it, because i know our bodies are designed to lose it soon after birth, it just depends how hard we can make ourselves work.
My trouble is my BB's. I've gone from a 12E to 14H. The reason i was overweight before is because i can't stand the backpain i got from not having the weight in my waist hips and tummy. So whilst i'd sat at 60-65 for years it wasn't worth it for the pain and at least with the weight in my tummy it hurt a lot less. Now i'm worried i'm never going to be able to slim down again because my bb's are so disproportionate to the rest of me!
I'm sure things will all work out, right now, im just doing what i know is best for me and bubby, and ill worry about weightloss later.

OMG Ashnant!!!you poor thing... BB's is the one place that i am loving me weight gain! gone from a just filling a B cup to nearly popping out of a C Cup.
I had my 20 week appoint on tuesday and i hopped on the scales (my OB doesnt weigh me nor does he say that i should worry about weight) as i wanted to know. DH was there and so he weighed himself too and we weighed the same and i am nearly a foot shorter than him! AHHHH
DH is really supporting about it and says that i am just protecting the baby - Mum gained loads in her pg's
I am watching a bit more carefully what i eat now as i was over indulging the last month or so, was using the pg as an excuse to have more naughties than i should!
I have been a bit depressed as a couple of girls have fallen pg round the same time and have hardly any weight gain (and eat way worse than i do!)
I guess different bodies handle the pg differently
Oh yeah - DH and i have a one year rule - if i have not lost weight one year after giving birth he is going to get a cattle prod! at least he doesnt have unachievable expectations 1 year is a good time frame!

Hi all.... thanks for replies.
I have figured out a solution!!!!
DON'T WEIGH YOURSELF!!! LOL.
Went to anatomy ultrasound at 23 weeks. Ob didn't seem too concerned but said to cutbread right down. Also milk and cheese.
Have moved onto skim milk (no fat) and 1 piece of bread per day, maybe two (wholemeal).
Am exercising for 30 mins at lunch (walking at work) and 10 mins on elliptical strider.
And not weighing myself now.
*Bindy, the shortness of breath has started to kick in...and yes I'm sure the extra weight doesn't help.
*Ashnant, I feel for you. Other women are always saying wish I was bigger, but girls...if you are big, you really don't like it. And you can't wear lovely little string strap tops, or go bra-less. I have whiplash from a car accident I had in May when I was first pregnant and I'm sure that the BB's don't help. The back ache I'm getting now (pinching in lower back) is terrible. I can't walk sometimes!
*SammieJane - Don't let it get you down. I too got depressed about it that's why I posted here as it was really bothering me. Just do your best with what you eat now and when you have bub, do your best again to exercise and eat healthy. Ask hub for support, you'll both be happier.

I'm with you nell71, I don't want to know how much i have put on.....
My back has been bad too which makes it so hard to exercise, actually going to the gym today (haven't been for 2 weeks as could hardly walk)
Glad you have a supportive ob, with my other 3 pg i was weighed every appt which was really hard as 1st dd i put on 30kg and my Dr gave me such a hard time and didn't believe me when i was telling him what i was eating, which made it worse.
I go through stages at the moment, of not eating much one week then the next week i am hungry all day. I'm just trying to enjoy the pg without worrying.

Ok so I was already over`weight (by a long

sorry about that my DD was sitting on my lap and managed to post before I was finished typing LOL. Anyway as I was saying I was overweight by a long shot and so far I have only gained 700 grams lol. The last two I averaged around 11 kilos... but both of my babies have weighed in at over 4.5 kg's born.
-
Just measured myself - I am almost 20 weeks (saturday). I have put on 5 kilos.
Not too bad I guess, but I also ate lots and still eat lots - graze all day every day at work, Im always hungry and it doesn't help at work - every few weeks its a b'day or something and food everywhere!
-
Ashnant - I too am busty! Im sure they weigh a kilo or so. With my first DS I went from a size 14D to a 14E. Now at 20 weeks I am a size 16E.
I dont know if I will be able to breastfeed as they are HUGE! I hate it so much.
I am not tall either, small boned. I would love to have a reduction afterwards!
-
I started at about 68 kgs and last month at the OB's I was 74kg. I was about 22 weeks last month and had been the same 74 kg the month before.
My home scales though have always read a bit heavier. I've noticed in the last week that I seem to be alot bigger in my legs and arms - so I'm expecting my OB visit next week will be alot more... Oh well, plenty of walking next year when Ascher is born...
-
Caz1971 - I was worried about breastfeeding also, but for some, odd, but apparently normal reason, i've been "lactating" since about sixteen weeks and everything seems ok so far, so hopefully shouldn't have too much trouble... I think i'm thankful our little "surprise baby" has happened because i was going to have a reduction before i had babies, which may have meant i couldn't breastfeed, so at least for the first time i know i have a better opportunity!
I haven't put on anymore weight since 12 weeks, i think its more of that im losing old weight as im growing or something...
-
With my first I put on a total of 27kg.
I'm at week 14 and have only put on no more than 1kg so far, but I've put on more size around my hips than I did at this stage last time. Weight isn't everything.
-
I'm just on 23 weeks and I think I've put about 6kgs from my normal weight. I did lose 1kg with m/s so I've put on 7kgs in total. And probably 5 in the last month (not my fault, I went to visit my mum and was feed every hour!!)
My ob said ideally put on 0.5kg a week. But who knows what I'll end up at 40weeks. My friend hardly put on anything at 30 weeks but at the last months she was putting a kilo a week and ended up with 20kgs. She had her bub in Feb and has lost 10kgs since (and she couldn't bf).

Hi,
I put on 25kgs with my DD, 8kgs with DS1 and about 15kgs with DS2. I am only 4 weeks so i wonder how i will go this time round!!
