Lis update me hun?
Hey Shell it got quiet in here! So you're waiting, and you're 2 days past your due date? How are you holding up? I hope you've got some other overdue people to chat with! (or even better, hope that bubs arrives!).
I nearly outlived 2 belly buddies groups - last in my first group, second last in my second group by a whisker!
Life is grand on the other side of the baby bump! Got home from hospital yesterday and am just stoked with everything. Lots of recovery to be done for me stil, but Barnaby is gorgeous, sweet and feeding and sleeping like a dream (except for 5 hours last night which was more nightmare!)
I will be keeping an eye on you missy, you are entering the hardest part of the race, the final stretch!
Congratulations AliB, and welcome to Barnaby.
As you may remember I was going to be induced a week ago today, Feb 26th. My little one had other ideas. My waters broke at 8.50pm on the 25th and our son, Richard was delivered on the kitchen flooor at 9.20pm by my dh, with help on the telephone from the 999 emergency controller. The paramedics arrived 5 mins too late. Richard got rather cold and so we spent 2 nights in hospital as a precaution.
He weighed in at 4.055 kg, 8lb 15oz and is absolutely gorgeous.
So after 1 false alarm and 18 days of pre-labour the actual birth was incredibly quick. I'm just glad that dh was at home and that my waters didn't break in the supermarket or on the school run!
My goodness how dramatic!! Congratulation and pleased to hear you're both well!
Congrats to Shell1 and Flygirl!!!!! I knew something would be happening soon!!! hope both babies and mums are doing awesome!!!
So happy for you both!
Wow cant belive I am still here.......and there are babies everywhere:doh:
I hope you are all loving your bubs, mine will will getting a stern talking too when it is pulled out kicking and screaming:shakehead:
Wow flygirl thats a little traumatic :o I hope you are all ok, im not really sure dh would be up to that.......hopefully we will never have to find out :o
Not long now 3 days till induction
Hey girls - finally made it back here!!!
Congrats to Ali on the birth of Barnaby and flygirl on the amazing delivery of Richard!!! What a story!
My Sophie was born on Monday 1st March at 5.50pm after a long process!!!!
I went into hopsital 5pm Sunday and had the cervidal tape put in - stayed overnight - and by morning my closed cervix was now 1.5cm dialiated. Waters were broken at 7.30am and contractions started straight away - 4 every ten minutes but they had hardly intensity. But they were enough to keep my on my feet. They checked my cervix at noon and nothing had changed!!!! So the drip went it and they upped it bit by bit to 24ml. Contractions increased slightly bit by bit in intensity. At 4pm they checked my cervix and it was only 3cm!!! I was distraught and exhausted. I could not believe it. So they gave me a big increase with the drip and the contractions came so hard and fast they had to turn the drip off! I started pushing at 5pm and bubs was born at 5.50pm, with no stiches!!!! No pain relief! Oh, I had forgotten how much that bloody hurts!!!! But I have recovered so quickly!!
Bubs was fine - she had four blood sugar checks in the first 12 hours and all was good - a great relief!
She is only tiny 2.9kg born and 48cm long. (my son was a lot bigger) Sophie is ravenous - feeding every 2-3 hours. She is a week old today!!!
Lis - good luck!!! Sounds like you will be induced like me. The cervidal tape did not hurt one little bit for me - so don't worry about that! How are you feeling???
Yeay M2W glad you are ok
That sounds pretty much spot on with my labour with dd1. The only ray of light I have at the moment is knowing that it is coming to an end very very soon  how bad is that??
I have had 2 days of really bad pressure pain, no contractions, no real show bit of mucous here and there but whenever I stand it is a forceable pain and I seriously do not know how I have not broken my waters yet. Im half expecting the doc to say tomorrow that they can feel the head, it is so uncomfortable :o On top of that I have a stupid head cold, sinus crap, green runny nose, sore throat and am about at the end, and just exhausted :crying:
Still docs tomorrow and finally find out when this is going to end .
I hopefully will be with you in the baby buddies very soon

My little girl is feeding so well and sleeping ggreat, i just cant believe how lucky i am
Lis - sorry to hear you are feeling terrible...how the dr appointment go?
Good news all round.
Already 2cm dilated so at least the pain has been doing something and am booked in for 3pm tomorrow
But have been having major pain for 2 hours now :o the doc really did a good internal and didnt mess around :shakehead: I have managed to have a mini sleep and am still having the pains. They still dont feel like contractions to me but they are coming and going so who knows, whatever they are they have 24hours to do it on their own and then it will be forced on them.
Still dh reminded me that last time I had 6 hours of pain and was still only 3cm so to be 2 cm already is a huge achievement...bless him he was paying attention:D.
Hopefully I will be away for a couple of days but i'll keep you posted
Hey lis how you going ?
Congrats lis :)
