No way to learn but by asking questions!
BH generally gradually die out if you change your activities - ie. if they are happening at rest, a walk will make them stop, and if they are happening when you are active, resting, or having a warm bath will stop them. Just a rule of thumb, not a guarantee. :)
As far as water breaking goes, there was just a poll done recently here on BB, I think in the labour and delivery section, on water breaking. It can happen well before labour starts (then you might have to be induced) or a little while before labour, or in early labour, or in hard labour, or during pushing, or not at all. Very rarely, a baby is born with waters intact. Usually they break at some point during labour, whether naturally or with the OB or midwife breaking them to help things along.

Cricket, thank you! I think once this pregnancy is over, I will become more knowledgeable. I will definitely read up about water breaking in the labour and delivery section. That way, I will be more ready for it when it comes.
I just noticed you are overdue. Good luck on your pregnancy and keep us updated on how everything went. Also, I saw that you are located in Ontario... that's really awesome because I'm located in Montreal, Quebec. So, we're neighbors! That's amazing...

You're right! Belly Belly is such a wonderful place for newbies and of course anyone who needs answers to questions related to pregnancy and birth. Ever since I found BB, I've been reading up on threads and articles to enrich myself. BB has given me a lot of comfort and couragement... especially in times when I was in distress since I haven't a clue what I was going through was normal or not. I basically drove DH crazy worrying sick about every symptom that I experienced. But thanks to BB's members, I have found all the support I need to last through my pregnancy and my baby's upcoming birth!
