Another thing my SIL suggested was your own soft toilet paper to avoid the hospital rough stuff. Could be a good idea for sore pereniums.

Baby wraps and nappy. Food for hubby like drinks and snacks.
Also:
Dont forget an extra towel for after your first shower, make sure its old so you can throw it away afterwards.
All your bulky luggage is mainly in the hospital bag and you dont need to lug that around whilst in labour. Its more convenient thats all.

Your own toilet paper is a great idea as hospitals seem to only use tissue paper or that illusive grease proof stuff.
thanks for that kaylene, guess that makes more sense now that i think abt it. :) will most likely have the HUGE bag in the car while we are in the delivery suite n then get everything in the room once bub is born!!
so exciting and i think i'm getting paranoid too!! every ache or slight pain i feel, i think, 'now?? now??' LOL so funny!!! but what a thought indeed..... :P
So far in my labour bag I'm going to have:
snacks (nuts, muesli bars), energy drinks, heat pack, stress balls (suggested in a Birthskills book I'm reading at the moment), ipod, visualisation picture, bathers, aromatherapy oil and electric burner...also DH's bathers...
Haven't packed it as yet...as still waiting on my Ob's decision about VD or c/s....but hopefully I'll need it!!!
I had NOTHING!!! Went early, was not ready (never thought it would be a prem), my mother brought some stuff (clothes, underwear) and at the end of the day had a emergency c-section way early. Even had to use the hospital maternity pads  It was crazy!!
Just want to congrats you girls for being prepared and thinking ahead!!
monnie : that's a good list!! i might use it as well. ;) thanks for sharing...
