Arte: now that you mention it i *think* it could be 36 weeks :think: (i'll have to check their info booklet...because now i have vague recollections of the 36 week birth plan meeting being the one where it was all action stations from there....i hope so. could take some of the pressure off ITMS).
PZ: yeah see i thought that it was prelabour stuff too. until tuesday night when it became full blown cannot move searing pain across the abdomen with the cramps. keep an eye on it.
In most places 37 weeks from LMP is considered the cut off for low risk care so I would be surprised if your homebirth plan was from 36 weeks, but the best person to check this with is your midwife. I hope everything settles down though and your baby can cook a few weeks longer :)
I was having acupuncture to protect preg #3 and yeah there is a point in the top of the head. Certainly can't hurt to try :)
DS was a High Risk pregnancy thanks to Incompetent cervix and preterm labour was something we had to deal with also. Despite an agonising journey full of courage and fear, he was born at 38 weeks.

Not to derail - sorry Cassius - but 37 weeks is considered "term" right? So this probably isn't the greatest example ;) So much happens in those last few weeks of gestation, between where Cassius's LO is now (34wks) and 37wks!:
Hun, I hope you are resting up as best as you can with your own definition of "resting" and enjoying your "wearying" pregnancy. Maybe she just wanted to be different from your other two??? :)

yes you are right and i realised that after i reread it .... my point being if the pregnancy gets to the baby being 37 weeks LMP (35 weeks baby age) which is the lower end of term the baby should be ok and well enough to come home.. (but again i know a post term baby at 42 weekers can end up in SCN ).:
just to add : sorry im assuming Cassius is refering that the baby is 34 weeks old from scan dates ( 36 wks LMP) if not and it is 34 LMP i do appologise and please disregard my post ...
I'd be assuming 34 weeks from LMP... I've not heard of the two different dating methods before, fourth pregnancy for me and GP/Obs/MWs have only ever referred to LMP. :dunno:
I think most people date pregnancies from lmp, and in fact this is also the date we give women at scans.:

i do know someone who homebirthed at 35 weeks, and was able to stay home but it was incredibly intensive for mum and the midwife. basically 24 hour kangaroo care in bed for mum and baby, with frequent midwife visits and a whole lot of feeding difficulties. :crossfingers: that your little one just stays comfy for a few more weeks.
Well, today has been awesome! :dance:
the first since Tuesday where I didnt feel like I was in early labour :leap: tight as a barrel BH still (but to be expected at this stage of pg!). all the nausea disappeared, the period cramping gone and totally awesome is that my belly is no longer squeezed just around bubba (gone back to being a normal round pregnant shape).
I am hoping that all this resting has paid off :crossfingers:

That's great Cassius :) fingers crossed she stays put for a little while longer :) The girls in the nursery today were saying that any baby born before 36 weeks goes there to be checked over. Sometimes they need to stay other times they go with the mum.
