Washing Of Baby Clothes

Definetely wash absoltuely everything before you use it for bubby.

Oh, a question on washing everything.

I washed everything before i put it away after DS grew out of it. They were washed (& ironed if necessary), and put into space bags.

Would you bother rewashing everything for this baby?

Yael, I would rewash just to refreshen the clothes. KWIM. They aren't dirty as such, but just to get rid of that stored clothes smell.

Yeh, i'm slightly tempted to, but i have soooo many things to do before this baby arrives..

Stupid me is seriously contemplating having minor building works done (study downstairs and the wall between us and the kids room upstairs), done at 39 weeks.... am i mentally insane?

I could just see me going into labour with the carpenter in the house, and a washing machine full of wet baby clothes!

Yael, how about just washing the 0000 and 000 stuff now. It's not like bub will need the bigger size anytime soon.

That's my plan with Tehya's old stuff anyway.

Did anyone wash the bassinette? not sure what its called but the material that fits over the bassinette.

Belle, I wash EVERYTHING !! So yes, that means, sheets, liners, cover's, underblankets, even the damn curtains.

Perhaps I make more work for myself, but atleast I know that it's fresh, no chance of dust mites etc being on it.

Me too - I've rewashed all of DDs stuff too. It was also packed away in space bags but I want it to be nice and fresh and clean for this bub. I've only washed neutral clothing, wraps, blankets etc because we don't know if this bub is pink or blue but my mum has volunteered to wash all the pink stuff while I'm in hospital if we have another girl.

I used Amolin on my terry flats, blankets, sheets etc today but must admit it doesn't have that 'baby' smell that Lux flakes does so I'll be using that on bub's clothes.

Willow, that's true about the Amolin hey. I washed up bub's nappies and wraps with it and it just doesn't smell as nice as Lux. I love Lux flakes and lavender Cuddly together on my babies clothes. YUMMY :D
