The "gift" - how do you know you have it?

Hi,

I was told that i may have the "gift" but not know how to use it or channel it to the best of ability.

I get feelings when things may happen, or i see things in my dreams which i then hear about 1-2 days later.

How did you know that you had the gift? How did you follow it through?

I think everyone has the gift, its just that some people choose to ignore it, and others are able to tune in to it more.

I don't know how to really follow it through. I just listen to the voices (that's the best way I can describe them). I go by the first thing I hear, its not so much a 'thought' as hearing someone's voice inside my head, iykwim. I feel like if I then think about what I have 'heard', then that is my own thought of changing the decision. Make sense? An old friend gave me some books on how to develop my gift further, but I haven't made the time to read them. Sometimes I see people who have passed away but are 'stuck' where they died. I don't know how to develop this further. I haven't yet seen a book that says 'how to see dead people more efficiently', so I guess sometimes its pretty hard to find the help that you need.

Eg, a voice told me Darren or David after I thought about your dream, but I don't know if that is related to you, or our friend David who passed recently and suddenly.

No my friend wasn't a David or anything like that, he had a Turkish name which begins with A.

I had a feeling the other day that i whilst i was working out in the gym something would happen in to my car in the parking lot. I constantly had this in my head. When you say a voice tells you, yes, something like that but it was my voice iykwim, not some other person's voice. I ignored it. I kept saying to myself what could happen in the parking lot at 4pm with other cars there??

I got out of the gym at 6pm and saw police behind my car and was practically kicking myself for ignoring my thoughts.

Luckily, it wasn't my car, but the car behind me. It had a hammer thrown through the window. The glass was all cracked but not fallen down and the hammer just gone through leaving a "hammer" hole in the side window. I should've checked when i heard the message as i may have scared off the attacker or even caught him in the act.

I used to see my uncle who died in 1997 in my dreams constantly. I really missed him. One night he came to me in my dream. I was at uni and he came, all dressed in white with a halo like glow over his head and told me that i shouldn't worry about him, and that he was well where he was. I have never seen him in my dreams since.

I often dream of the devil. I can't see him, but he is a fuzzy light or he sometimes appears as somebody i know and tries to trick me. He comes to hurt me or scare me, i can sense it is the devil, so i start to a prayer from the Koran and he magically disappears. One night, the devil came and he threw the mini Koran from in my pillow case and it hit the wall opposite of where i was sleeping and the pages flew open. He was disguised as my brother initially. I had my eyes open, i could see it all. It was truly amazing, something i will never forget.

It really is scary often..

I know exactly what you mean about like what happened at the gym. Similar things have happened but with two of my dogs on two separate occasions.

Have also had a similar dream to that of your uncle of my own family members, and I take it as them basically saying goodbye, and whatever other message they give you at the time too. My Grandmother, who had big differences of opinion with my Mum, and was of the very 'old school' Europe, came to me in a dream and told me that she was really happy for me and that I was doing well in my life.

Big kudos to being able to recognise the devil in all his guises and also for being able to deal with him. I have never had anything like that happen to me, it does sound rather scary.

I know you're not stalking me. I love chatting about things like this too and don't have many people that i can about it too. People might tend to think i'm looney, so i apprehend on discussing these topics with them.

i also love watching shows about these kinds of things too. I am currently hooked on "Living with the dead" on the Crime Investigation channel on Foxtel. It is very spooky. Psychics and mediums get called to a particular home where there are strange reportings of things thrown, noises, apparitions etc.. The psychics and mediums come in and try and solve the problem through a house cleanse or seance etc.. It makes the hair on the back of my neck stand from watching it.

This past episode had a family in England call in the experts after purchasing a property and living in it for a few years. The owners prior gaven them a photo of the people who originally built it in the 1800's and told them to keep the photo in the house. They did. They kept on seeing apparitions of the family. The experts came in and were drawn to particular room where the "mother" (first owners of the home) had died from TB. The passed mother came through via the current owner and you could see her face change, and her voice changed as this "passed mother" took over her body. It was amazing. There also was an evil spirit in the house, who through the seance came through via the current home owner and took over her body. It was absolutely amazing to watch.

I have often dreamt of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). I am not a devout muslim (only P/T as i usually joke and when it suits me!). I did not see his face and i was in Mecca. I have been told (after my dream) that very few people can dream of the Prophet and he never shows his face to the person dreaming, and this is a sign that it is really him. I was actually looking for a sign from God to make me start the 5 times a day prayer ritual and seeing him in my dream was the sign. I did begin, but it got the better of me and gave up. I was too hard to pray 5 times a day when you work.

I don't watch those shows, as they give me the creeps! Sounds silly I know, I'm more than happy to see those who have passed away, or sit in a cemetary, but I can't stand those shows! When I was little I used to be really uncomfortable being in some churches, and I couldn't understand it. Now I think its a spirit thing.

I imagine it would be very difficult to pray five times a day, I guess even when you don't work (but with kids). Not sure what I can say about your dream of PBUH, except for wow, you are lucky to have dreamed of him!

TD - I had this feeling in the beginning, it was my drive to find my life's purpose that really led me to explore it further.

The best thing I did was read about developing my intuition. For me, intuition is the starting point for everything else. You also need to focus on healing those parts of your life that aren't working - the 'clearer' you are (in terms of having 'dealt with your stuff') the clearer your intent will be, and the more powerful the info you get through will be. I recommend all of the books by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer as a good starting point, there are about 6 but I suggest you read them in what ever order you feel most drawn. It's also good in the early stages to get some solid psychic protection techniques on board, just so you can discriminate between your clear energy and "interference" from other sources LOL(it's a bit like tuning a radio).

There are zillions of books/meditation CDs about developing your psychic powers. Have a play and see what works for you.

BTW JIC you're wondering how I'm qualified to talk about this, I've worked as a psychic and healer for over a decade now.
