Bub is breech at 28 weeks...

I had my obs appointment today and he said bubs is breech. He didn't seem fazed at all and said it was fairly common at this time and he said she had plenty of time to turn.

Has anyone had experience with bubs being breech but then turning towards the end?

Did you do anything to help bub or did they do it on their own? If you helped, what did you do?

I have read about ECV's and am not liking the thought of them. I am happy to try anything else though that is safe for bub.

When do I start trying to move bub? I don't want to start too soon but don't want to leave it too late either. Am hoping I won't have to help her though.

I must also say that my fear of birth is needing a c-section, hence why I am determined to avoid one. Of course if it means bub and/or my health and saftey is at risk I wouldn't hesitate in having one. But if it is avoidable.......

Our bub is still breech (as far as I know, next appt tomorrow) at 32 weeks and I'm starting to get stressed about it too.

Have a look at the spinning babies website, I've had a quick look but will have a proper look tonight once the kids are in bed.

Although my ob will deliver vaginally, it depends on baby's position etc and my biggest fear is also a c/s.

Let's hope these babies turn on their own!

Yes I have looked at that site and will print out some ifno to read.

Maybe we need to give these babies a good talking to. I haven't asked my obs yet but will at the next appointment. I am glad I am not the only one scared of a c/s.

I currently have a breech bub and my first was as well. I seem to have stubborn girls. This time round I tried chiro to get her to turn, hasn't worked but apparently has for many people. You need to find a chiro that is specifically trained in the webster technique which is the technique to assist turning. THe chiro I saw said 30 weeks was the ideal time to start to try and get bubs to turn.

DD2 was breech up to 34 or so weeks. They can turn anywhere up to 36 weeks. If bub is still breech at your 36 week appointment they will tell you they want to CS or do ECV. DD3 is breech too, but well and truly wedged that way. I am seeing the Ob tomorrow to book my CS. Spend a lot of time on your hands and knees to provide extra room for bub to turn.

One of my bubs flipped and engaged extremely late into the pg. Cant say exactly when since it was between appointments and I hate hospital appointments so go sparingly unless I do need them (Hey, I am saving the government a lot of cash here!), but it was sometime between the 38th and 40th weeks.

Spent some time with my butt in the air. Keeping the chest on the floor because it gives gravity out of the pelvis and into "open space" to move.

Ali, glad to hear your little one is denying the Senior Ob the chance to experiement with your DSP! Good little princess! If they try to offer advice to get her to turn, smack em for me!

Hi Nadine.....:lol:I was going to say the same thing as Alioops....spend time on all fours.... (just make sure your DH isnt around....it always seemed to excite my DH ....:rolleyes:). Whilst none of my babies have ever been breech, they did tend to lie on their side, so there was a chance of posterior baby (like DD#1) which i wanted to avoid at all costs.

When packing Kaylas toys away, get on all fours, when reading her a book, do it on all fours.....

My baby decided to turn breech at around 35 weeks while he still could, so I didn't find out until quite late in pregnancy that he was head up. I did acupuncture and moxabustion as well as all the positions I could manage from the spinning babies website and those recommended by my midwife. I could definitely feel him trying to turn after the acupuncture and when I did the moxibustion (which I was doing 3x per day), but in the end he didn't and I had a c/s. However I found out during the c/s that there was a reason he was breech. He couldn't turn due to a uterine horn and I found out part of my uterus wasn't formed properly and he didn't have room, but I know he gave it a good go in the last couple of weeks.
When you're in the inverted position you can also try putting a cold pack at the top of your belly and a heat pack near your pelvis to encourage bub flip as well.
Good luck :) I think acupuncture is definitely worth a go, as well as the moxi. I would also start in the next few weeks while bub still has room to move.

I was laying in bd this morning and the hard spot that the obs said was her head felt like it had moved again. Of course I am not sure if it was her head LOL but I couldn't feel anything hard where it was yesterday. :crossfingers: that she makes her way down.

I was hopeful this morning after feeling some odd movements overnight but now am feeling that pressure under my ribs again which I think is the head...will find out this afternoon I guess.

Hiya Nadine, I'm 27 weeks and bubs is also breech. His rock hard head moves from the left side to the right side near my ribs but all his footwork is at the bottom. let me know how you go and if anything works to turn her.

Willow- Her head was back there this morning. So she must constantly still change her position. I just hope she doesn't get too comfy in the breech position LOL. I can tell when she is breech because I get a sore spot on my skin where her head seems to be.

missya- Yes, my little one does the same re. movements. She has taken to dancing on my bladder and cervix which is not so nice LOL.

Yes I will let you know how I get on. I will wait untill my next appointment and see what the obs says then. But as far as I can tell from posts in here and google, it doesn't become an issue untill we are further along. Even then bub may turn at the last minute.

Nadine - had my ob appt yesterday and bub was no longer breech (as I suspected) but was transverse :wall:

Ob is still saying it's more than likely s/he'll turn on their own and we don't need to really worry till about 38 weeks.

I actually feel a bit better knowing that s/he's not 'stuck' in a breech position...would still prefer head down, bum up though!
