OPK not working I think

Hi Everyone,
This is my first post and I am TTC for my second child.
I have been using my maybe baby and got ferning on d13 and 14 (quite a lot) and this was hard to see. I also used an OPK for day 11,12,13,14 and got a BFN for all of them. I had the ECWM (at least I think I did) on day 14. So far, and I know it is early I have had a BFN on the HPT on day 21,22,23 days past AF. My cycle length is 28 - 32.

What I want to know is: why did I not get any positive with the OPK. I tested for a few days. It is supposed to detect 24-48 before the rise. What went wrong?

Not sure what went wrong if anything did. I have had ++OPT then 4days after it went back to negative I ovulated. I am 100% sure of this and I got a BFP (M/C unfortunately) this cycle I had ++OPT for 4days including the day I O. I think some months are different so I wouldnt give up on them just yet. Maybe try another batch. What time are you testing? Maybe try change your times you are testing. Also is it possible you O even later then you think you did? Are you taking your temp also? I have heard sometimes your LH surge can be so brief you can miss it even if your testing every 24hrs. There would be a hole list of reason why it wasn't detected. Are you BF or on any medication that might effect it?

thanks for replying and for the advice. I will give another brand a go, for tis coming month.I have been testing around 5pm in the evening and they say it doesnt matter in the kits, but a book I had said later in the day before 8 pm is best.

The main reason I thought I O when I did,, was the maybe baby ferning and the EWCM. There was lots of it too.

No I am not taking my temp. I have trouble with it and truthfully my 2 yo DD doesnt let me lie in bed long enough to get a reading!

I am not BF and not on medication. I am 38 though..so maybe my cycle is changing..Your advice is great though and after searching trough the forum I am not giving up home (and goign to assume the BFN may not be true). The other reason I wonder is I have a pain in my right side, and have for a week and a half. I had a pain in my R side before i think I ovulated too....but could be just hoping!

I have never had a positive OPK, testing at all times of the day, even though through charting of other symptoms I know that I O on day 20, I can never ever produce the second line! If you have other symptoms, like your ferning, I wouldn't be inclined to worry too much about it. But try the other brand, that's a great idea.

Maybe I'm just an outlier. We can start a club if you like :D
