Beema Q or Baby Jogger City Mini?

I'm tossing up between getting a Beema Q and a Baby Jogger City Mini for my first baby, and would love any advice/suggestions.

Both get great reviews as 3-wheelers! My main concern is that the Beema Q seems a lot heavier (11.8kg) and bulkier than the City Mini which is only 7.6kg (Beema Q will take up most of the room in my Astra hatch). But on the other hand the Beema Q has pneumatic (pump-up) tyres for a smoother ride (City Mini has EVA-moulded tyres suitable for pavement or smooth urban terrain which makes it much lighter) and the Beema Q has more storage room in the basket underneath.

I think the City Mini is around $499 and the Beema Q around $399.

I really like the idea of having a rear-facing bassinette for the first few months and i believe both of these have this as an optional extra.

I will mainly be using it for short walks to supermarket to buy a couple of items, putting it in the car to go shopping or visiting friends and going to the park/zoo, etc. If comfortable, i intend to use mainly a sling or baby-bjorn for the first couple of months anyway.

I haven't used either of these prams but a friend of mine did think her Beema was too heavy. Especailly when she was pregnant with number 2 and had to get the pram in and out of the car.

I had the Beema Q Elite (red one) and it was absolutely fantastic. I loved it so much. I didn't have the bootspace issue as I own a wagon. I could push it for hours and hours no problem. DD loved itand always seemed comfortable. I never had a shopping aisle I couldn't fit down either.
The one negative is that it doesn't take a toddler seat.

I love my Beema Q - its great for the shops and for walking - DD has most of her day sleeps in the pram (since she won't sleep in the cot grrr!) so obviously finds it really comfy. I love the size of the shopping basket - I keep looking at umbrella strollers because I've heard the same thing about it being awkard when pg (not that I am, but we're trying) but I'm always unhappy with the size of the backets compared to mine.

As Nurse Dan says though, it can't fit a toddler seat so this is the dilemma I have now.

i couldnt remember what the babyco prams were called just a moment. i think we have the swallow one? idk its the black and bright orange one. Its 11kg something and its not something i'd like to pick up & put away iykwim. (we dont drive so its always just there in the hall) But it does get heavy quickly when shopping and you have to get it up a step or two. Unfortunately i think ours is defective in that we gone thru sooooo many inner tubes its not funny just on one side! And pushing the bugger with one flat is a nightmare! I do love the underneath storage, however its hard to get to when the bub is lying flat down. I'm pretty darn sure the pram material is waterproof (ive been caught out in the rain), it dries very quickly, no mould issues (unlike the mothers choice i had with DD1) it was incredibly easy to assemble (i did it! lol) pretty much pull out of box and pop tyres on and it was all done.

I love my Beema Q and it fits really well in my tiny Charade. It fits so much better than my Steelcraft Pheonix stroller lol. I have a bad back and haven't had any issues with it being too heavy. Its fantastic to use on all surfaces too. Just the other day I did a 3km walk back from the mechanic and it was no trouble to push it on the uneven footpath(dirt,mud,grass and some concrete) as well as the road.I love the pump up tyres and have never had to replace tubes etc in the 20 months I've had it.

I like my beema q elite and it fits in my little corolla hatch.
I dont find it heavy, but then my other pram is an emmaljunga so not a fair comparison.

How does everyone else put it in the boot, do you have the third wheel underneath or on top? I've been putting it in on top but find it trickey to get the bankets not to fall ont eh ground when I get it out again??

rayray I take 1 side wheel off to put it in my boot.So mine goes in on its side iykwim? I put the side with the wheel on up the top and the side with wheel off on the bottom. I just rest the pram on my hatch opening and put the wheel back on when I'm getting it out. Hope that makes sense ;)

We bought the Baby Jogger City Elite so the City Mini gets my vote. Their prams are amazing in my opinion.
